The pieces on the top left, don't connect. Most other illusions that are 3D, like this, have the same sort of trick. It just depends on the camera angle.

The only thing I can think of is that the top part was made to look "connected" to the bottom part.

The only thing I can think of is the right bit thats supposedly on top is on the surface and the camera has got it at an angle where you cant tell.
