Why would it being similar to death be reason to be afraid of it? XD; Under that logic, "deaf" should be a scary word...

Phobias are classified as irrational fears, and I meant in their language, but these are just rumors I've heard.

I don't understand either, it makes about as much sense as going to the lottery and putting certain numbers like the day a family member was born because it's lucky.

Oh, I found this, don't know if it's real or not though.

Those Chinese elevators.

The number 4 is considered superstitious in Japan (and China, I guess) because the pronunciation ("shi") is exactly the same as death. Dunno if it's the same in Korea.

I don't see it as any different from Western paranoia of 13 or 666. xD;

And where is number 4? That must be the weirdest elevator.

EDIT: I think I'm getting the record to the person that got the most times ninja'ed.

I love the number four. :)

Best number of all.

How did I know you were going to post here about this? :(

7>4

I have an irrational love of prime numbers, oh well.

I don't get why some Americans are scared of the number 13.
That's around the age your balls drop, and no one likes being a teenager.

I know that's not the real reason why, but I'd understand it if it was.

My apartment is the same as well. From ground floor to 10th floor. They skipped 4. Same with the suites/rooms. Every floor gots 000-016 (skipped 004 and 014) o.o well, my apartment has a lot of Chinese people so, they might get superstitious of saying 4 in Chinese. I'm chinese as well. saying 4 means death. >: I don't think anyone would buy a house/apartment with the number sounding like that. o.o

Because a lot of people (not all) here are so superstitious..

I really wanted to use another word..but I can't..

^__^;

That makes sense now. My friend didn't tell me that, he just says he dislikes the number 4.

That reminds me.

In Myrtle Beach my mother's husband said that we're really floor 19 since there was no floor 13. The floor we were on was labled the 18th floor.

So I said, "No, we would are technically floor 17, this is because floor 14 is really 13, 15 is 14, 16 is 15, and so on."

Then he and my step sister started laughing calling me stupid. My mom and I just look at each other with the face expressing "Can people really be this stupid?"

That is my entire basis for my thought that stupidity is genetic. >:3

The first time I heard about that phobia I thought it was a joke, but after reading that article, I learned that it is real.
