Well North Carolina gets hurricanes every couple of years..so..there. :P

But Charlotte is inland. D:

Actually, all the schools I've been to (undergraduate and graduate work) have been inland. I've only been to the coastal schools for conferences and such.

But some (note the use of the word "some" and not the use of the word "all") colleges on the coast will give your entire tuition back to you if a hurricane hits during the school year. :(

Even if you're about to finish.

:D

Too bad the Carolinas haven't had one hit in all the years I've been going to college... and if one doesn't hit this year, it'll do no good since I'm (hopefully) graduating in December xD

Finally upgraded my original (fat) DS to a DS Lite, though I decided to keep the old DS to trade my Pokemon between games. I really like it! It feels more ergonomical than the other one, as well as generally looking cooler. Took me quite a while to find the 'Power' button. *facepalm*

I was going to wait for the 3DS's price announcement in September but I couldn't wait to get my Pearl Pokemon over to my Soul Silver, lol.

Theres only tornado warnings here where I live XD
Same.

We also get severe blizzards because of Lake Erie.

We also get (small) earthquakes because there is a fault line in said lake. In fact, they're so small you only feel them at the coast of the lake. Rarely do they go more than 30 miles past the lake.

Well, I sure hope you do too!

Just watch out that you don't accidentally switch the power off while in the middle of a major battle, like I've done a couple of times :/

*Kept thinking the power switch was the volume control*

EDIT:

Just a question, is Carolina more like a flatland? I'm to lazy to look at the map.
It's a little bit of everything. You have the coast on the east, then the foothills of the Appalachian mountains on the west (in fact some places in NC are quite mountainous), then flatland sandwiched in between.

True, though I bet I finally run into one of those shiney Pokemon and then in my moment of excitement slip the power off, lol.

Hopefully I won't drop this one in the bath!

lol, you dropped it in the bath?

Yeah, I was happily training my Pokemon a while back, on Pokemon Pearl, while having a nice soak. I then popped it onto a towel behind me while I washed, then when I finally got out the bath I grabbed the towel, totally forgetting my DS was on there, and it fell straight into the bath. It was in there for a little while too as I wasn't sure if it'd electricute me!

It didn't work at all after, but after 3 days of sunbathing next to a radiator it worked just like normal. Still works to this day!

On a similar note, I also spilt a full bottle of 2 Litre lemonade on my Wii. It went all in the Wii and everything but amazingly that still worked too, all be it a bit sticky for a while. I traded that in last November though. In light of all this, I must say... Nintendo products are quite reliable (in my experiences anyway)!

lol. I've never had anything like that happen to me.

Coming up from school for Christmas the year before last I was stranded at the Greyhound bus station in Cleveland for about seven hours :/ It was because of a blizzard.
Oh :(

That's not exciting.

And Cleveland is probably the worst possible city to get stuck in. xD
Seems like it gets bad in the winter over there o.o
Yeah.

I think it was this year (maybe last) where we got two and a half feet of snow in one night. The weight of the snow cracked the roof on my school so for a month we had to take classes in trailers. XD

I would kill myself.

I have no shinies that I caught.

Oh, damn.

I thought you were going to start school this fall and got excited because I Google mapped my school against Penn State and it's apparently only about a 30 minute drive. But isn't it a little random to have chosen Penn State when a) you live in the Midwest, and b) you're a sophomore in high school? Just wondering is all...

Penn State recruits where it's sporting conference lies, and that's the Big Ten, which dominates the Midwest.
