It's been donkeys years since I've seen a Toy Story film. If it made everyone cry, wow; it better not make me cry, or I'll be called a crybaby by my sister for the rest of my life.

The only finale or end of a series I really want to watch is the Doctor Who 2010 finale. Apparently, it's the best finale of all time...in anything.
Grey's Anatomy's finale was pretty awesome. Man killed heaps of people in a hospital. :O

Pff, crying in a movie doesn't warrant teasing imo. I've seen plenty of movies that made me cry. Course, it might just be because I'm an antisocial human being who secretly yearns for the love and comfort of others, but then again, it might not. B3

Well, technically, Pokemon came out in February 1996, so...=|

And yeah, I know, right? Suddenly, the standards are sky-high. "OMG NINTENDO SUCKS BAD GRAPHIX LOLOLOL". "XBOX > ALL BECAUSE OF SUPER HIGH GRAPHICS SCREW THAT PS3 IS BETTER IN EVERY WAY AND WII IS MORE FUN XBOX IS PROOOO", etc.

My computer hits a performance wall when it comes to games running pixel shader 3.0, especially if they have a lot of water. I don't see either why these standards have to be constantly raised, for most games at least; the only ones that one could say need the best visuals are simulations, since they simulate our or an alternate reality in some aspect, or RPGs (like proper open-world ones where you can actually play a role of your choosing, not Final Fantasy or such), since it allows a better roleplaying experience... Some run and gun shooter like Halo doesn't have much use for HDR effects, let's be fair. It's like clothing fashions, "it's better this year!", sure but it's also disproportionately expensive.

Well, I just came back. Most of the users that I knew either quit or aren't very active.

I remember when the DCC was very very active last year and I was the #2 poster on there. (old DCC)

Nothings really new other then that haha xD

The DCC's been relatively active compared to a month ago.

I always find it amusing how video games never met such visual standards until 2003 at earliest.

Well, there's a reason: movies can be pre-rendered and can use infinitely better hardware because they're dependent only on a playback device, while a game has to be made so that the mass-market can play it. And you're right about simulations needing realism far more than other game genres.

Ugh. This makes me feel old. I joined way back in 05, so hearing users people knew in 09 going inactive or quitting...just makes me laugh.

Um. 17 isn't cold.

We've had 0 - 2 degree mornings, now that is cold.

I wish I could have joined back in 2005 but then I would have been 9 years old and my parents didn't trust me enough back then ;;

USA fan, I assume? We've got one of your boys at West Ham, Johnny Spector, he's had a rubbish season though unfortunately.

I forget if he started or not in the World Cup, but I think that the defense was the USA's downfall. They lacked a truly frightening player to prevent opponents from lobbing the ball, and depended too much on Howard.
