Well, patching the game does work. However you experience random freezes still and if you don't save constantly you risk losing a lot of your work. :(

This is why I doubt Black and White will be able to played on an emulator. Besides the graphics that no emulator can support, its anti-piracy system will be better than HG/SS's one which has cause most people to not play the ROM.

My parents had that stance until I was five years old. I got Pokemon Blue after my cousin showed off his Red version to me and they decided it was okay because the game was heightening my reading comprehension skills.

According to Bulbapedia, it's being released in Japan on the eighteenth of September, but I can't see any news for America.

Not that it matters to me; I'm probably not going to find out the release date for Europe for another six months or something.

You should be able to get an idea of how long you'll be waiting by letting history repeat itself (ie looking at Diamond/Pearl's release dates):

JP September 28, 2006
NA April 22, 2007
AUS June 21, 2007
EU July 27, 2007
 
It'll probably hit around March or April, but we don't have confirmation yet.

But the last games (DP, Plat, HGSS) all came out in Sept/Oct in Japan and March/April in the US so I doubt they'd take much longer or mess with what works.

I'll just download the jap ROMs and play 'em coz I don't think I'll have the patience to wait for the english versions to release. Also, can't really play the real things. Ah well, living in India has its share of disadvantages, it seems.

Isn't there a Gujarati version though? When I went to India last time, some guy tried selling me one O.o

I've never downloaded a Japanese ROM of any game. I was going to try with HG/SS but my old laptop kept freezing on me. Might try it for B/W now I have a properly functioning laptop. It'd be pretty funny to try and navigate through a language I don't understand.

It might have been a fake tho. He had the box in Guju. Even though I couldn't read it, my parents said that it said "Fire Red Version".
 
Ha ha, yeah, I know what it feels like. It feels kinda weird, actually. Going everywhere and talking to random people just to unlock the next part of the plot. XD;

And well, HG/SS didn't really work on my PC till I used an AR code. It doesn't work without it.

Fake, yes. That's probably the answer. XD;

My current plans are to get the ROM of either Black and White to play through the JP version but if there's too much piracy protection, I don't know if I'll bother since I don't think I can fit another import in my budget this year. ;~;
 
They are, yes. But no one bothers about it. XD;

And well, I think the hacker guys won't really leave B/W be. They'll definitely come up with some sort of way to make B/W work on No$gba. HG/SS's piracy protection thingy was quite hard to break, it seems. Many a hackers had loads of trouble with it.

So I won't be able to play HG/SS or B/W properly... What a shame.
