Why seventeen and a half times, why is that significant?

And I know what grinding means, I used to play World of Warcraft ; )

World of Warcraft =/= RuneScape. Honestly. The amount of grinding in the game is unimaginable.

Eww, Runescape is like the fail WoW sorry.
On the contrary it's free, and is more user friendly than WoW. I prefer something that doesn't set me back $300 just to start playing, let alone enjoy for an extended period of time.

$300?! You must be insane, the games themselves only cost at most $120, then a gamecard costs $35.

And how is it more user friendly?

It teaches you the basics, and the basics is basically all you need to become an expert at the said skill. Anyways, it's $11 to become a member where I'm from. So, it pales in comparison to the amount you pay to become a member of WoW.

Also, the many difficult quests and PVP interactivity all outclass WoW.

You've obviously never seen nor played WoW : |
I actually have, but it wasn't the "online" version. It didn't interest me simply because it hasn't got the same basis RuneScape does. It's all about killing enemies, not advancing skills and getting ranked as high as possible.

You must be joking, World of Warcraft has professions, Mining, Alchemy, Tailoring etc which you level. Getting ranked as high as possible is involved in progression raiding and also in PvP arena teams.

I've played some Runescape back in the day, never became a member though. So I just did all of the free stuff and then stopped playing. XD That was a while back though.

Never played WoW, and don't really plan to, mainly because I have lots of other games that need playing that will keep me quite entertained for a good while yet.

It doesn't really have the same "feel" to it. The graphics are top notch, yes, but I prefer the games which are free and offer the same options.

But it doesn't offer the same options, since when did they have flying mounts? More than one race to choose from? Decent graphics maybe?

Anything is better than crapscape, I'm not gonna pay $10 USD a month just to get top notch crap. WoW is far superior in every way to crapscape, let alone you can play on private servers which you don't have to pay for. So no need to pay $15 a month when you can play it for free.

Actually, it's $5 a month USD. It's $11 in Australia for different reasons. Anyways, I've never heard of these said "private servers". I haven't even been online on WoW. Oh, and I doubt it's completely free. I mean, you need to pay for the software to begin with. Which would most probably set you back at least.. $30 or so. Maybe more.

If it's $11 in Australia, then you may as well put $4 more a month and get something far better.

I've quit altogether now. Gaming in general tends to get boring if you no-life it for a while. And, that is exactly what I did.

I just checked on the website and noticed it's now $6 a month, doesn't really matter if it's $9 cheaper than WoW but, WoW is still far superior. And yes private servers are free, you can donate money if you want to help pay monthly fees, but that is optional not compulsory.

I've played both runescape and WoW (not an equal amount of time mind you) but don't play them anymore. Runescape was good for chatting, and had some good mini games. But the clicking does get tedious and boring pretty quickly (that's why I chatting a lot).

WoW, the whole chatting system is different, not only that, I found it harder to make friends, unless of course you force yourself to join a clan, where you have to follow some random rules and such.

Darkfall, if possible was worse. The idea of it was interesting, from the loot system to pvp and real timeness, but it sucked for newbies... You're thrown in the world, then suddenly told to go here and do this (pretty much that vague), so you go there, your first quest (to kill some goblins), and you're already outnumbered by them and die. Plus there were skills for everything (crouch running, running and swift running among other things), and the costs in game for things were paramount... Only beta testers would enjoy the game I think...

To build on my last comment...

Perfect World is a quickly developing MMORPG that is F2P, and is quite large.

In this perfect world, you choose from 3 races, then from those, you can pick a career depending on your race.

(For instance, Wing Elves can be either Archers or Priests, Were-Beasts (Or Were-Foxes if you play as a female) are either Magical, or Brute Strength (The Tanks of the game) and Humans can be a Warrior or a Mage.)

From there you customize your character (Quite in-depth if you ask me...) and move into perfect world!

From the beginning you are fighting some creatures, not hard at all, simple mobs, but non the less, they will level you up so you can be strong enough to survive the route to the main town of your race. (If you start as a Human you start out in the far north-east, Were-Beast/Fox start in the central/west, and the Wing Elves start in the south.)

The advantages of the races become apparent from early on.
The Were species swim much faster, and can transform into either a Wolf or a Fox, depending on gender.
The Humans apparently get a Large Jump Boost, and a Run Speed increase
And then there is the Wing Elf... my favorite of the races.
We can fly from level 1! Though we are always weaker in terms of defense, our damage is quite high... and did I mention FLIGHT FROM LEVEL 1!
That and as we play we get a flight speed increase.

Not to worry, every race can fly at one point or another, but getting a hold of a flying item for another race OTHER than the Wing elf is VERY expensive.
Though you can buy them with real money if you wish.
In the end, there are no limits to this game, as you can play the whole game without spending any real life money.

The world is MASSIVE.
To give you a good idea of HOW massive...

There is an auto-walk function in the game, you hold a button and click on the map and you character walks there, no matter the distance... (Same for Auto Flight if you have a flying equip on)

I flew to the furthest South Western corner of the map, and clicked the Furthest North-East corner...

At that point, I got up, made a sandwich, ate it, checked my position, went to go watch a movie, (About 1 Hour 15 minutes long) came back, and still had to wait 5 minutes to get to my location.

MASSIVE.
There is usually a lot of people on, and stuff, so it is good to play with others. (As you will most likely need to, the boss monsters are HARD... UNHOLY alone...)

You can download it from either a Torrent or a Crapload of Zip files... (or RAR, can't remember)
If you decide to try this FREE TO PLAY game, and are worried the torrent is evil or something, your speculations on torrents are wrong, it's the source you get the torrent from, not the torrent client.

If you decide to take the torrent route, get uTorrent, and get the torrent file (That the DEVELOPERS OF THE GAME PROVIDE TO SAVE BANDWIDTH)

It's kinda big though, like 7 GB AFTER installation I think...
