It's still alive and well, and it seems a lot of people are getting back into it. They've also changed surprisingly few of the rules from the early going.

Well, that's actually the issue most I know have... the nearest TCG league is over an hour away for many, and most can't drive. My nearest league is nearly an hour away, but I still play once or twice a month. And you might be surprised how close a league is, unless you live in farm country.

And collecting them is a perfectly legit reason to keep 'em. I was buying to both play and collect, myself, until I saw the red 3DS.

omg pokemon tcg.

I've never played it competitively and I really only... collect the cards of the Pokémon I like (or cute cards) but it's still fun. :D When David + other people were here the other week, we all bought a pre-made deck at TRU. I got a deck that had Cherrim cards in it and was the undefeated champion of the day! \o/

It is very interesting.

And there's a league locator on the official site (which is also where I get my nostalgia fix for the anime) that would be able to tell you where the leagues (and sometimes tournaments) are in your area.

Speaking more of the TCG, I'm kinda multitasking by posting a deck list I used at a tourney a few weeks back in the section.

:O I want to live that close to MY home-base league!

Also, only the newer sets would be tournament legal, though I think you can play with your older decks at leagues. Older decks would probably be destroyed, though. I tried some of my best older format decks against my newest decks, and the new decks completely blew the old ones out of the water when it came to speed.

I think OC hates PC in general — ever thought all the refreshing in here might be the prime contribution to database errors?

Edit: Also what's the point in this thread when this javachat thing exists? If the reason is "no one uses that", then why's it there?
 
Refreshing in OC? :( It's not exactly the most active of forums, I doubt it makes much of a difference in here.

OC is probably one of PC's favourite forums. It's the one with the highest chance of tl;dr replies which take longer to write, so less mass-posting at a time. XD;
