..ahaha. No. I've had quite a bit of competitive battling experience. That person you fought with the same choice items, why didn't you have the item clause on? It makes the Pokemon less individual and it's unfair if you have a team of six holding leftovers.

To be honest, they may have had an item activated to use Stone Edge? If you're talking about Tyranitar, then it's most likely Choice Scarf, so it's restricted to SE. Anyway, with enough STAB it can OHKO DD Gyarados, but you do need a +100 base attack.

..what do you mean banning Salamence?
Because item clause is moot, and is anti-stall material for noobs who can't battle properly. And yes it's QUITE FAIR to battle 6 Pokemon without instant recovery. Item clause is my most hated clause. That and no formes clause. MY GIRATINA-O WILL PWN YOU. Oh and Scarf Rotom is one of my most hated versions of it. it still kills my Gyarados after a DD and screens up =[ *uses wacan berry*. No seriously wacan gyara is such an underrated threat that all those Smogonitesoobs doesn't know of it's existance, you really don't want to face a +2 DD gyarados. Let alone it's adamant. Unless you have priority then your whole team is toast.
Oh yeah I was once complained to because I used 5 life orbs on my team. I really miss my old offensive playstyle.

wtf

o.o Yeaa....thats kinda weird. Why a rusty bed? o.o
I'm a noob D:

So that I could do whatever nasty thoughts on my mind, noob.

Wow. Five Life Orbs? Seriously? Well, I see why they would complain, to be honest.

WHAT? My team has SUPER FRAIL members. Like Gengar and Dugtrio. I also ran dual dragons with offensive CM Latias and new MixMence (roost is moot)

D:
Thats a bit over the top....
And kinda creepy...

*throws you out of the window* Cya, horny nasty male.

@BeachBoy
That was my first OU team ever! It actually did pretty well.

Off topic:
Yayyy!! I got a hair gel (somewhat like that) that makes my hair shiny! (Or somewhat sun reflecting.. it's totally black and long so I like it with a pretty light on it.)

Wow, a lot of people battle through Wifi over here o.o
I used to competitive battle for a couple of weeks then my Wifi got switched. D:

Anti used a team of six Life Orbs, if I recall correctly. One of his best, frankly.
But, I don't understand why there should be a team full of one item. I mean, sure, they're awesome; but isn't it fairer to use different items for different Pokemon? To be able to enhance versatility in the teams.

Maybe it's moot on your team, but Classic MixMence is always in style for me. ;)

No, it's not "fair" to restrict someone's use of an item. Item clause hurts so many strategies and plans, why would you destroy that? While you might think the clause would increase versatility, it would do the opposite in terms of strategy and game-plan.

Kanade is perfectly right, Item Clause is without a doubt one of the worst clauses out there.

*tries to join in on convo*

I always have a MixNite on my team. Life Orb works well with it. :D

I understand what you mean, as in it hurts plans, but the matches that do require Item clause need a team set-up and strategy that doesn't rely on the same item.

Is it just me, or has this thread momentarily turned into the S&M DCC?
Haha, it has, hasn't it?

Always fun to throw some competitive banter in random places every once in a while.

Then whoever is requiring you to use item clause needs to be taught this lesson: turn it off.

Is MixMence better then MixNite?

I mean I prefer MixNite over MixMence, because I think its better.

Whenever I'm on Smogon server on shoddy, I'm always getting challenged by people with it on.

Gengar is really underrated.

Also just for the fun, Occa heracross with something like 24 sp.def EVs gets 85% max from scarftran rash fire blast. I mean it was total lol to see someone fire blast me, I survive and then go for the kill. Heracross is really overrated. Oh and Gengar is one of my favorites, I love the SubSplit set. I also hate special infernape, because it has a huge moveset syndrome (just use sd ape. it already rapes skarmbliss noobs. I once was VS a guy with BOTH celetran and skarmbliss and he was plummed to the ground.)
I also wish people would use specs starmie more. OHKOs tar, in SS. (needs hydro pump though).

Now I'm a very bad battler though. My latest team is super gimmicky lol with like.. Swampert / (aforementioned) Heracross / Scarftran / SubSplit Gar / SD luke / DD gyara
I tried working on a defensive-offensive core but it doesn't work =[. I'm such a noob. I also dislike how they banned Latias. And how ignored Raikou is (it practically pwned more than half UU metagame, it's also more bulky than Jolteon and doesn't die to CB bullet punch) and has relieable setup (it's always fun to see vappy try to surf me as I cm in it's face and get another one on the switch). I should use Raikou more but I'm trying a weird scarf set with the event Raikou (rash @ aura sphere / tbolt / hp ice / shadow ball). It's on my save file but I never used it, I wanted it to be my stall scarfer.

Boy I rant too much.

@Lizard
MixNite has one advantage: doesn't need to use outrage to OHKO blissey.

I'll be honest... I've been playing since Red, and I never once tried to make a strategic team...

I really just collect my favorites, take the time to level them to 100, give them the moves I think fit best, and that's it. I don't use Shedinja or Yanma whatever because I don't like them.

I use Arcanine because he's awesome. I use Haunter over Gengar because I like Haunter. I'm just weird I guess.

*looks over at Kanade*

Well, I suppose not that weird. I don't tie people to rusty beds.

*prepares to block any flying objects*

I could get into competitive battling and totally know what you're all really talking about, but I have too many other more pressing things of interest. I understood half of what y'all said, though. XD;

I know what they're talking about, but it bores the hell outta me I suppose. I mean, it's like when people start getting all technical with guitar playing. I just grab my guitar and start playing to drown them out!
