That one in particular was rather insane. I still don't know how half of the class passed the text-type exam, when none of us had the slightest idea about anything asked there.

But it was practically free lessons!
Don't you want free lesson? sucker!
But hey making my nails in class is always a fun way to skip a boring class that all you hear is kids going crazy.

It was orderly chaos... learning got done very effectively, because the students were willing. When I started there, the building had 770 students crammed into a building meant to accommodate only 700. When I graduated, it had 880 students and they had expanded the building so that it could host 1200 students. They're also already talking about building a new school by 2014, and they're sitting at about 900 students enrolled right now.

My high school constantly had to add a teacher or two every school year because enrollment went up by about 20 or 30 students each summer and another 15 or so during the school year.

They have money for that? We're firing teachers. u___u

Most of my professors in college were idiots. They just read from their pre-made lesson plans that had been used for years, and when they actually got asked questions, they looked stupified.

Hentai is an art form.

Your instructors sound nightmarish... mine are only likely to do that if they're one of the part-time instructors that the smaller colleges in my area compete for every semester... though it's pretty rare even then.

It's because they're a growing district and have a good reputation for grades... plus, they always ask for money through referendums when they need to expand their existing schools/build new ones. All four of the schools were expanded in 2007-2008 because of a 2006 referendum that passed. Before that, one of the elementary schools was using portable classrooms (6 in total, actually, which amounts to about 150 students in all those classrooms) because there was so little room at each school. D;

And the school budgets probably haven't been slashed as bad here in Minnesota as they have in California. Though they're getting there. D;

Mine has a 50% graduation rate.

Advantage: Not much competition for the top 20 *Guaranteed spots in Public Universities* :D
Lucky you. I have to go to the army (aka waste of 3 years).

At least I learn accountancy which I can get a job from. Too bad it's too messed up and gives you somewhat illogical problems, and problems you'll never face in a true business.
