@Iris: I am glad that I was able to cure any boredom that you may have had during the time it took you to read my essay!
@Ashley: The last time I can remember writing an essay post about nothing was a few years ago in your LJ. Andy and I had a competition about writing the biggest comment, and I think I may have even beaten him. Andy is a good rambler, and he gets mean and angry and mad in his replies too. XD He has an awesome emblem about rambling, I think? Speaking of those, Drew gave me a nice emblem the other day for something or other. Today I found out though, that it was actually Sammi and Drew talking that caused me to get the emblem. And here I was thinking that she'd given it me out of the goodness of her heart… but in fact it was because it was for "lulz". Alas, I have three more emblems than me, and that's good enough for me! Now you're going to get pity emblems and I'm going to wake up tomorrow and you're going to have 10 or something.
I had thought I had written more to this paragraph, but for the life of me I cannot think what it was. As you know, my laptop overheated and I am incredibly irritated I didn't think to write this reply up on Word, as I am now, because at least then I would have saved a copy. It's a shame PC isn't like LiveJournal, whereby it keeps saving your drafts of an update. That would be a good feature to have. Or people could be smart and write big replies that are going to take more than 5 seconds to rewrite out on Word. I am stupid.
Your reply didn't let me down, but there could have been more content about nothing. I mean, what I've already written in this very short space of time, and also in only reply to your first paragraph, is most likely going to exceed your post by quite a few words. My essay posts about nothing are completely pointless on a forum, but I agree that they are of value in school. My A-grade papers for both English and computer science got to their third page before even remotely touching on the topic that was in the title. I'm wondering if my teachers even bothered to read the whole thing or just took a look at the amount of pages and thought "there's some effort in here, A grade!" Of course, writing too much can be just as harmful to your grade as not writing enough. A lot of my friends in high school used to get D grades because they hadn't put any effort in at all, and one of my friends, who used to write pages and pages about nothing (worse than I am here) got marked down for writing too much. I have the slightest feeling he may have just copied and pasted text from the internet. Tut tut!
I love bringing up your usernames simply because you despise them, my dear! I will never let you get another MSN name, as each and every day, it says
[email protected] is signing in. It amuses me, I must say. I've stuck with drummershuff since I was 12. In fact, I'm pretty sure I had this exact conversation with Jorge the other day. I've since started using my real name/nick names for usernames though. I seem to have grown out of thinking of random names to use. Like changing my Twitter from drummershuff to matthewjaywood was a big step. I prefer it though, even though Lexy and a few other people have complained about its length. Then again, you can't please everyone, hmm? I read somewhere that people were given the option to change their usernames before they stopped giving them out completely here at PC, so you should have sensed this and come online and asked for something better. Perhaps ~*Ashley*~ so that for once I could type it out without having to hit back space and retype your name in the correct order.
It's a shame that other people aren't posting in here right now as we could be in our own world (apart from the person below you that I have yet to reply to) and everyone else could be having their own chit chat. Alas. I'm sure by the time I hit submit nothing else will have been posted. I am saying this because in my first reply, I said it would have changed and it hasn't, so we'll go with the opposite tactic and see if I'm right. XD
Coffee and Red Bull are amazing! You have only have one sip of Red Bull, but I will one day change this. I am looking forward to having water again though. I just do not like the taste of the tap, and I keep forgetting to ask my mother to pick some bottles up for me. She can get it so cheap from her place of work that it pointless me going to the store myself and paying an extra few pounds. Apple juice was a very nice change to soda. It was fun giving up soda for lent. I have unfortunately been drinking it more while at home, but I've actually been back on Ribena the last few days. I must agree, however, that you are indeed old. You do not have semesters anymore, just a black tunnel, with no light at the end, of work, work, work!
I do believe this post has surpassed yours, and I will hit reply and edit in with the other chap's reply, as I'll give you a chance (if you dare) to reply to this one! Adios!
EDIT:
@Luck: I am very well aware that there are better people here at essay posting than I am, and it is a pleasure to see you take the time to reply to me. It is 2:30AM at the moment, so I hope you will forgive any typos and/or sentences that make absolutely no sense at all. Posts lacking in substances yet a few pages long are still awesome. Currently I am trying to balance both MSN as well as replying to this thread, and not least am I trying to keep my over-heating laptop alive while I type. Let's hope I can do so! MSN is very useful at wasting one's time. I seem to spend far too much time on it when I'm back at home. At college I wasn't on it very often, if at all, but I'm going to try and stay on it more often when I go back to keep in touch with a few friends. I digress that I don't post much in any other forums of PC. I used to be an avid poster of New Users/Welcome, but Sammi will tell you what a nuisance I used to be in there in 2005. I do like posting in OVP on the odd occasion, but I seem to have stuck in Other Chat for most of my PC life.
I must correct you on your second paragraph, Sir, as I am clearly your inspiration for you typing your essay post. You replied to me, after all. It's not like you came in here by yourself and thought "Hey, I'm going to essay post!". I cannot believe I'll have been at PC for 5 years on December 10th, but time does fly. I think this will have to be my final big reply for the night, as I'm getting sleepy and my fingers are beginning to feel like they may fall off.
While skimming your 3rd paragraph, I noticed that you mentioned getting a huge box for such a tiny item. I think that's a pointless thing to happen and it has brought me grave disappointment in the past. While I can see that having a big box filled with protective blobs are useful in keeping the product in one piece, it does bring less enthusiasm toward the actual thing you get when, if you judge what's inside by the size of the box, it is nothing as to what you expected. Did that even make sense? I don't think so. My eyes are getting kind of blurry. I wouldn't necessarily considered my posts essays at all, as they were created for the fact that I was bored and had nothing better to do than write about nothing. You don't gain any knowledge, apart from the few random scraps about me, such as that I am clearly incredibly bored with nothing better to do than ramble on about nothing. I think an "essay" would have to have a point that is discussed in a series of paragraphs that ends in a conclusion. And as I have nothing to write about, I cannot give a conclusion. I think "essay posts" refers to a post that has more than a few words in it.
Last, but certainly not least, ew @ you for not liking coffee and Red Bull
