6th Gen The Delta Episode

I remember pretty much sacrificing sleep just to finish this godawfully short but still sweet segment of the postgame. This delta episode made me see that the future pokemon game(s) can have the potential for some more in-depth post-game segments to help extend the game's lifespan. ORAS delta episode, I loved every minute of it.

It got me thinking though, Delta Episode.... DLC... Yep, DLC Episodes for the post-game. While that may sound like a money-grubbing corporate cash-in that many other companies might think about (coughcoughME3coughAsuraswrath) its a bizarre idea that popped into my head after experiencing it, DLC post-game content in a pokemon game.

I honestly thought it was pretty annoying and up to a certain point a little confusing. Very winded and so much backstory being crammed into a short side quest that had you running back and forth after this apparently unstoppable, random little girl trolling everyone in her path.

I think that could actually be a really good idea. I don't think DLC is necessarily always a bad thing, as long as it doesn't go too overboard. The Delta Episode shows us that little short quest based episodes can work quite well in the post-game, and if we got more of them like it over time as DLC, I don't think that'd be such a bad thing :)

Far too short and not that interesting to be considered a good addition to the game
At least it gives you a Rayquaza though.

Despite the hype about it, the Delta Episode plays through a bit short, but at least I felt it was fun. I, too, wasn't too crazy about having to battle two legendaries in a row (would be even worse if Rayquaza's catch rate was still 3 in ORAS, and you completely ran out of capture balls or lost all of your Pokémon trying to catch it), but hey, they say save your Master Ball for the ultimate Pokémon (in this case, Deoxys). Zinna was borderline annoying, especially when having to climb the Sky Pillar.
I, too, prefer post-game content to a storyline (though exploring Kanto in the Johto-based games was a storyline, there was much more to it than going through the Delta Episode.)

I thought it was interesting even though it was short. I had to use a walkthrough to help me out though. Catching Rayquaza took a while which kind of annoyed me. I used my Master Ball for Deoxys. I was going to use it for Rayquaza but changed my mind.

The Delta has a pretty good ending, it allows players to catch their own Deoxys without an event and there is some romance in the Mossdeep's Space Theatre. Finally, Rayaquza is easier to catch. I would like to see similar episodes in future pokemon games. That gives me an idea for my own pokemon game.

It was short but still enjoyed it. Zinnia was a pretty interesting character. At first I didn't like her very much but towards the end of it I started liking her. The ending to it was great but it made me kind of sad. :<

I quite liked it despite how short it was, but it makes me wonder where all that potential for interesting story telling was. I could use a different formula from the typical Pokemon game once in a while and I'm not too crazy about fangames. I thought Zinnia was overbearing at first, but then she turned out to be an... above average character. She has a good theme song, I'll give her that.

I have to agree that the developers should've given the player a small break between catching Rayquaza and catching Deoxys. I was losing my patience trying to catch Deoxys and I ended up using my Master Ball on it. That and I think I used my Master Ball on it because I had caught Rayquaza in a Premier Ball and I reeally didn't want to reset. That was a fun moment.

i caught my rayquaza in a repeat ball without having to use any other pokeball & just outright used a masterball on deoxyz. still got a masterball left thx to the lottery on my X version & i can use the GTS + some breedjects to send my other masterball i won from the lottery over at anytime.
i kinda hate how you have to complete this in order to get a second bike. whose wise idea was it to make that available only after you got that far? should have been able to get it when you got the eon flute, instead of placing the 3ed person in need of being advertised to in the battle resort

No Break? reminds me of X. I didn't have a chance to save before the Xerneas Battle. Luckily I caught it with my first ultra ball.
the game wouldn't have let you go forward til you caught it, as catching it was a requirement to pass that part of the story. it other words it would instantly re spawn if you fled or defeated it. i'm pretty sure the same mechanic is also on rayquaza & if you didn't catch deoxys, it will respawn after defeating the e4 again.

What if you have no poke balls?
you either have to flee or kill it, i'm pretty sure it lets you roam around the overworld rather then tapping you in an infinite loop, otherwise there would have been more then just that save issue flooding the web back when the games where initially released
