The Dragon's Den V.4

No, they technically just aren't the Dragon type. We're fans of Dragon Pokémon, not just Pokémon with the Dragon type.
But yeah, that's one of our rules, if Lance uses a Pokémon on more than one occasion in all of the games, that Pokémon is automatically a Dragon.

Yeah. Read "The Lance/Wataru Clause" on my OP. (biggest post below Silhouette's on the first page).

Basically, it's a disclaimer that says if there is another mainstream RPG featuring Lance, and he uses Altaria, that'll be two instances, so it'll be in the Den.

However...Drake's used it in two separate games (Ruby and Sapphire, but also in Emerald). So that's 3 dragon users using it...and Drake's pokémon are all dragon-type yet. Do we need a "Dragon Trainer Clause" instead of just Lance? I mean, Lance is the only one who really deviates from his typing...

Well that's because Lance is purely awesome...
Just check my sig and you'll know why.
But why are we debating on Altaria again? I thought we agreed it's a bird cause well... it is!

hey can i join in?
favorite dragons: charizard, dratini, dragonair, dragonite, tyranitar, salamence, latias, latios, rayquaza, and dialga

should garchomp and/or salamence be uber?: yes unfortunately. i miss using salamence in OU

lance or clair?: apparently clair still has a lot to learn compared to lance so i pick lance

which dragon looks better shiny?: flygon

giratina: orgin form

my dragon team: salamence, dragonair, kingdra, tyranitar, charizard, dragonite

should tyranitar be a dragon: always thought of 'em as some kind of dino, but i guess he can be classified as a dragon

favorite legendary dragon: dialga

I think it was just an example.

But I think the clause is not really a good idea, I mean, there is always someone somewhere who doesn't agree and wants reconsideration (it's probably gonna be me). It's of course a heavy-weighing factor, just like a Pokémon being a Dragon type, but I don't think it's good to be able to veto something (except legends. Legends rock.)

Anyway... New topic anyone?
What are your opinions on the fact that many legendaries are Dragon-types?

Edit: Ninja'd by a new person. Sure, you're in, I think Amore'll add you to the list. (So confusing these days.)

Sorry...I added the other guy...as long as one of us gets one of them, between the two of us we'll have all of them! :P

And if it gets to page 60, I'm stopping adding them permanently xD

Topic

Well, some of the legendaries deserve to be dragon, for example Rayquaza and Lati@s - after all, what else could they be?

However, the Gen IV and beyond dragons are debatable. I mean, Palkia at least has wings, as does Giratina, but Giratina's really ghostly...I guess it's what a ghost dragon looks like? Dialga and Palkia are dinosaurs, and most people link dinosaurs with dragons...but it doesn't really make sense. I'd still vote them into the club though :)

Reshiram and Zekrom? Ugh...just no. At least the other one looks slightly more dragon-esque (but no way near as cool).

Don't forget Aerodactyl is a Rock Pokémon. That'd mean that Altaria's skin is mado of rock. :D

It could be just be fur over top of something Aerodactyl-like.
;)
What are your opinions on the fact that many legendaries are Dragon-types?

I'm guessing that it's because real dragons are extremely rare (THERE OUT THERE, DANGIT XD), so it would make sense for most dragons to be legendary. Or rather, a lot of dragons to be legendary.

What are your opinions on the fact that many legendaries are Dragon-types?

For me it's okay if they resemble a Dragon or have something to do with dragons (Which was up to Gen III).

Faulty Internet incase ya wanna know.

Ok, just out of curioustiy, why is Lance so awsome to you people? you do know that he's not compeletly devoted to his typing with the Gyrados and such, even though we have that rule, they technically aren't dragon TYPED wich is what Lance is supposed to be about...
I like Lance, but i wouldn't agree on the words "Purely Awsome" to best describe him...

As for the topic: I dunno... perhaps it's because Dragons are Mythical in real life and legendary pokemon are mythical in pokemon....just a thought.

I don't think awesome flows through his veins either, but he's the best and coolest Dragon trainer out there for sure.

Short reply, gotts go. :D

You know... just to show you why Lance is so awesome...
Spoiler:

BTW those Lance facts in my sig are true you know...

Sadly, they're only true in the Pokémon Adventures universe.

But yeah, he's just the coolest out of the (shockingly bad) selection of Dragon-type trainers we have...Dragon Tamers aren't that good, Clair's horrid and the Gen V ones look even worse. At least Drake's O.k, but the others I can't sadly say the same about.

I agree all the Dragon masters are really sorry excuse for one.
In fact if my character would ever be in a game, I'd want it to be a dragon user, just to show everyone how oe is really supposed to be like!

@Draggy
I'm still not convinced, he's pretty cool with all the Dragon TrainEEs out there, but Purely awsome is just not the right words.
You're just another one of his fan girls XD (I kid i kid)

Sooooo, what now?

Ninja'd:)

Also, i have nothing against Lance but.....

Gifted with powers of the viridian forest: It's just a forest.....
Telepathically communicates with pokemon: Anyone can do that provided the right understanding of the world...
Heals their wounds: Pokemon Center
Controls Dragons: Gains their trust more like, control is SO the wrong word, maybe he's pattionate about dragons and so they like him.

Hm... quite possible, so I'm gonna back out of this disscussion, and keep admiring Lance! :D

New topic for us all:
which pseudo dragon is the best in your opinion?
Kanto: Dragonite
Johto: Tyranitar (yes I ecknowledge it as a dragon..., you can thank Thomas to that)
Hoenn: Salamence
Sinnoh: Garchomp
Unova: Sazandora

It's funny how each gen has it's own, huh?

Yeah, every single one...
Anyway, i'd agree with you on all your choices because there aren't many...
Speaking of Steino, he said he's got homework so he may not be on for awile or possibly the rest of the day...

Relax, Xilfer, I was at the restaurant. The hard work was finishe yesterday (poorly done, I must add).

I'll put my pseudo's in a list from best to worst.

Garchomp - Awesomely fast and frikkin powerful, as well as a sleek design
Dragonite - The original, he's strong and cute at the same time
Salamence - Not asinteresting as Dragonite or Garchomp, but still pretty cool
Sazandora - Three heads? No thanks. Pretty cool otherwise
Tyranitar - Draggy and I managed to convince each other of our opinions. Not a dragon to me

Umm...this may seem a bit random but...I'm quitting the Dragon's Den. For real, this time.

As in, I'm not a co-owner, not a member, and most importantly of all, not coming back. My interests are straying away from pokémon a bit...I'll stay on PC (in the non-pokémon-related chat sections), and I'll play Black when it comes out, but I'm not really going to post in any pokémon discussions.

So, I guess that leaves you, tkallab as the sole co-owner of the club! Copy stuff out of my OP if you want...I won't delete it.

I'll just leave you guys with a picture of my most recent favourite dragon:

*bulbagarden.net image removed*

Goodbye, and I'll hopefully see you elsewhere on the site!

Well these are sad news, but I can't say I didn't see this coming...
We'll miss you Amore... :(

Sorry to hear that, Amore. Be sure to visit the offtopic section, I'm there sometimes.

Can you do one thing for me though? Can you link your post to mine? It could be confusing if you left everything there. Just write a quick explanation and put the link there, and make it big and obvious. Thanks, and (I hope not) goodbye.

I'll have to reshape my post sometime, then. If you ever change your mind, we'll let you in with open arms!
