For those of you who know me well (or have read my previous blog entries), you would know of my plan to sell some games for store credit so I could afford a DSi. Well, today I decided to put the plan in action, so I ran to the nearest Gamestop with three Xbox 360 games and two DS games. I already had $80 in cash, so I thought that I'd have no trouble getting to $180. In fact, I thought I'd get so much credit I would be able to buy another DS game, or at least a 2GB SD card. So I'm at the counter and the guy finishes all his computer crap and guess what he tell me?
"You have $72 in store credit"
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!?!? COME AGAIN?!?
That's right. I spent a total of $260 on those games, and I couldn't even get $100 in store credit. I proceeded to snatch my games from the cashier's hands and stormed out of the store. I took the bus home battered and beaten. When I got home, found my dad in a particularly good mood (because baseball season has started, apparently) and decided to give the Gummy charm a shot. Amazingly, I was able to convince him to spot me $40 and drop me to a different Gamestop, hoping to get a better deal for my games. So I went through the whole selling process again and still ended up with $72 (as I expected). However, I managed to charm the guy into subscribing me for a new Edge card for like, 2 more dollars, which gave me 10% more on all my sells, and 10% for all my buys (along with that magazine whose name I forget).
Long story short, I got my black DSi, a year-long magazine subscription, and some change (which my dad made me cough up).
