The Flock (A Maximum Ride RP) ~ PG-16

Flurry took a deep breath and said in a small voice. "I don't sleep because of a nightmare that's been happening since I was three" she refused to look at Lance and Apolla as she continued. "It-it's about something that happened to me during a test....they were testing an ability I learned and it was just torture" she whispered starting to cry after finally telling them after all these years.

Apolla cradled Flurry in her arms, rocking her slightly. She shushed her tears soothingly, stroking her hair.
"We all have things from the School that we remember. It was horrible, and it scares all of us. Even me and Seto get scared."
She turned Flurry gently so that she was looking into her eyes.
"We all have nightmares sweetie. I had one last night. I had a dream that we were being chased, but when I woke up, I saw you were all safe, and that I've not got a reason to be scared." Apolla looked around her and smiled.
"We've got each other, and everything from our past has gone. We are a family now, and we never will have to be tested or experimented on again. I'm here to look after you; we all are."

-Seto dismissed the matter with a flick of his hand, turning away. He then walked over to the wall, and began leaning on it, sighing.-

"I can live without love Apolla, I've done that for quite some time. But no, you're not allowed to cook. And I shot-not."said Seto, putting his left pointer finger on his nose before crossing his arms and making a deep sigh before muttering under his breath.-

"Even Silver would make a better cook, no offence"

-Seto then snickered, before pushing off the wall and heading towards his room. It was always dark in his room, specially made so he could fall asleep almost any time of the day. As he plopped down on his bed facing the ceiling, he smiled slightly. He had used his powers to make it look as if thunderclouds made up his ceiling, with lightning dancing along the clouds.-

Flurry cried in Apolla's arms starting to calm down. "Th-that's not all" she whispered "something else I've never told anyone" she added before brushing her hair out of her face and reveling the jagged scar on the right side of her forehead. "This is what they did to me. They made this mark on me" she whimpered cuddling closer to Apolla.

Apolla sighed with exasperation as Seto walked past her, as tactful as ever. He seemed completely oblivious to the little girl crying on her lap; either that or he didn't care.
All I did was ask him to make bloody breakfast. Like I've not got enough to do.
She fixed a smile on her face, patting Flurry's hair as she did so.
"Lance? Please. If you're feeling up to it? Y'know, because I've been forbidden to cook and all that."

Lance decided to internalize his thoughts and just continued on his way, commenting on Flurry by saying, "Trust me, there's worse that's gone on in this world. You need to pick up and get over it."

Lance then looked at Apolla annoyed at the fact that she told Flurry what she wanted to hear because he knew that he might never be safe and that this was temporary, and Apolla knew it too somewhat as he said, "Tell her what she needs to hear. Not what she wants to hear."

Lance then walked to the kitchen and got some meat on the stove as he was cooking some chicken for the group, and some chinese rice, as he added spices from different parts of the cupboard as he then made sure that the juices were coming out and showing.

Apolla looked at the scar on Flurry's head, and anger ignited within her.
"How? No wait, don't tell me, just come here."
Before properly thinking it through, Apolla raised her hands and put them on Flurry's head. She focused, and her hands began to glow. She began to smile at Flurry, but it faltered as a searing pain scorched her palms.
She continued regardless, her teeth gritted and her forehead sweating. Her head pounded and she felt sick, but Flurry needed her.
Blood ran from the fresh wound on her hands, as the one on Flurry's head faded. "Nearly there." She muttered, but a ringing in her ears began.
Before the job was done, Apolla had fainted on the kitchen tiles.

Flurry's eyes widened and she shook Apolla. "Apolla....mo-mommy wake up" she whimpered before yelling out "Somebody help!" as she continued to try to wake Apolla up blaming herself. I never should have shown her my scar she thought angrily as self blame and worry surged through her.

-Hearing an irregular thump sound outside, Seto stood bolt up. He burst out of his room, expecting an attack of some sort, and thus had electricity arcing up his arms prepped to fire. When he looked over and saw Apolla on the ground, he sighed, cancelling the flow of energy, and walking over to pick her up with both hands. He then walked over to her room, and kicked the door open, and layed her down on her bed. Feeling her forehead, he nodded to himself and left the room.-

"She only passed out, let her rest a bit."

-After saying this he walked back to his room, closing his door and bringing up a radar monitor he had set up to watch the house, watching it intently.-

Lance then quickly set some spices on what he was cooking and then set it so that it could sit and cook on its own for a while, and as he observed the food, he saw that Apolla fell on the floor, and that caused a number of her emotions to run through his head, as he then went over to her and tried to help her up and carried her to her bed as he then said, "Why does she have to care so damn much?"

Lance then sat on the floor and stood guard for her.

(I was actually planning on continuing for longer, but this seems like an apt place to stop, shower and prepare for my exam tomorrow! I reckon I'll be back on in about oooh, 14 hours? In that time, just leave Apolla to die on the bed/couch for a while. She'll live.)

Flurry sighed and sat on the couch just staring at the ceiling. She had a lot going on in her head and was trembling from it all and from being so exhausted and stressed. She closed her eyes not falling asleep just resting her cheek on her knees as she sat there not saying anything or moving just trying to calm herself.

Silver sighed and hopped onto a windowsil.

"I'll go find some herbs and things to make mother better..." He tipped himself backwards out the window, and flew off to a field and started gathering herbs, seperating by smell, shape, feel, and many other details. He stuffed them in the pocket of his cargo shorts and got up, just as it began to rain.

"Awwww come oooon..." He moaned in complaint at the sky. He hated rain. Absolutely hated it. He got up to fly, but as soon as he did he was pulled to the ground by his ankle.

"H-hey!! Cut it out!!! Who are yo--" He heard thesound hehad heard earlier: a snarl. His eyes widened with revelation.

An eraser!!

He swung his hands together in a clap that sent the beast flying into a tree with a devastating thud. Two more charged at each side and he rolled away, and they hit heads and growled, but he grabbed one with his mindpower, throwing it into the other and knocking them into the first eraser. Rather, that's what he tried. He was unable to telekinetically move the eraser. He looked fearful when the first got behind him when he was facing the other two, and held his arms tightly.

"Get the others!! I'm taking the special one back to the School..." Snarled the eraser, and put Silver in a bag and tossed him into a copter, where whitecoat took off. Silver whimpered a little and amplified his voice, sure that the flock will hear him.

"Erasers!! Run!!!!!"

He heard the chopper take flight, and he gulped.

Why did he call me special...?

He whimpered and hoped nothing would happen to his family.

-

The two erasers snarled. Their cover was blown, but they continued, toward the hous on the mountain.

(After this, we'll stop copying the book. But, like the story, Angel gets taken, the others escape, and go hunting down the child as experiments are formed. So leeave me as 'taken' for a bit, and let the hunt begin! After, once we all escape, it's free-story...)

-Seto slammed down his fist on his bedroom table, cracking it a bit. His radar showed two erasers heading towards the house, and they were coming in fast. The green dot which symbolized friendlies was dissapearing rapidly from the screen until a message showed up on his screen.-

"Target Lost. Resume tracking Hostiles?"
"Affirmative"
"Tracking...targets located."

-The screen lit up and Seto cursed loudly. The two other dots were even closer, practically at the front door. Seto turned to go and warn the others, when the wall behind him burst open, and he was tackled by another eraser. "Must've found the radars blind spot..." grunted Seto, as he struggled with the enemy. Finnaly, he got a grip on the erasor, and tossed him through the door, and onto the kitchen table.-

"Run you guys!! I'll hold them off for a bit!!" said Seto as he pushed the security system activation button. He had installed it, putting in many weapons, some he had stolen from the school itself. Hopefully, it would keep the other erasers busy. Seto then ran and jumped, sending an electrified superman punch into the snout of the eraser.-

(you guys are fast)

Lysander rolled his eyes as the egg yolk rolled off his face, leaving a yellow trail on his cheek. This wasn't Silver's first attempt, so he was rather used to this. Lysander nodded, smiling a little as Apolla handed him a towel.

Wiping the yolk and the egg white off his hair in the washroom, Lysander threw the towel into the washing machine nearby, then walked back downstairs to get breakfast. But when he got there, a lot had happened. Apolla was on the ground for no reason...and where was Silver?

Worried, Lysander spreaded his wings and flew down the stairs, speeding up as he wings flapped, careful not to hit the glass ornaments nearby. Flying out the door, Lysander halted, fear and anger in his eyes as he saw something moving in an Eraser's bag, which was running towards the chopper.

Just then Seto charged towards one of them, and punched the Eraser right in the snout with an thunder punch. An Eraser came for Lysander from behind, and swept the air in front of him with his knuckles, but Lysander dodged it swiftly by tilting his head and gave the Eraser a low sweep, tripping him. As he did, he heard a bone crack, so the Eraser was disabled for now.

"Silver!" Lysander's eyes widened as the chopper started to leave, and he took off, following it as fast as he could. But unfortunately, his didn't have enough strength, or the right ability to punch through the heavy metal walls. He needed help.

Lance was still sulking to himself, protecting Apolla due to the latent eraser instincts still in him, but when he felt that two huge confused entities were coming toward the house, and that one set of emotions, probably Silver's by the train of thought, Lance then got up, went to the kitchen and turned off the food as he tried to protect his "pack" by eraser standards. Lance then jumped out of the window, and then opened his full wingspan as he then began flying at high speeds trying to get to Silver before they went too far, but by the time he was able to get close enough to the helicopter, he could not break the walls and fatigue caught him, by then Silver was already quite far, too far for Lance to catch up with, and he then flew back to the house in order to protect the rest of the flock, entering a battle position.

(There is NO way Apolla is missing this.)

Apolla woke with a start, hearing scuffled noises outside her window. She sat bolt upright, causing little spots of light to appear in front of her eyes. Her head felt like it was about to split in two.
Maybe I'll wait here for a while.
She moved to lay back down, when she heard Silver's far away yet unmistakeable voice scream "Erasers! RUN!"

Apolla stood up immediately, all traces of her headache gone.
I knew it. And right after I'd told Flurry she was safe.

Without any hesitation, Apolla leapt through her open window, her wings unfolding and snapping open. Ouch. Remember, no quick unfurling!

She circled the house, no Silver in sight. The sound of the chopper roared in her ears, and her stomach made a sickening jolt. Silver.
Lysander was already there, helplessly flapping around the helicopter. Apolla panicked. She flew towards the chopper, her body flat and bullet-like. When she got to there, she didn't know what to do; she followed the copter, yelling for Lysander to help the others, but soon the helicopter was too far away, and Apolla was still light-headed. There was nothing she could do for Silver right now.

She turned to make back for the house. The others needed her, so she swallowed her emotions and got ready for a fight.
"EVERYONE. DELTA IS OUT OF BOUNDS. DELTA IS OUT OF BOUNDS."
They'd come up with code names for things when they were training, and right now Apolla wanted everyone as far from the house as possible. Erasers aren't as nimble as the flock, so the forest was their best bet.
An Eraser was gaining on her, so Apolla kicked him under the chin, then in the stomach for good measure. Two more appeared, one grabbing her from behind. She stuck out her elbow, feeling his nose break, before charging at the one in front, both arms forward. They fell off the cliff face at the end of the forest, and Apolla's wings snapped out. To her surprise, so did the Eraser's.
Wings? That's new.
The new Eraser was clumsy, his wings barely supporting his weight. Apolla chuckled darkly as he tried to stay airbourne, before grabbing his wrists and kicking him three times; the groin, the stomach, the face. He crumpled like a piece of paper, tumbling towards the ground.

Apolla tried to do a head count, but she could barely see amongst the Erasers. Where she hovered off the cliff face, six Erasers flew towards her. Anger welled inside her as her thoughts returned to Silver, and she let out a yell, charging at the nearest flying doggie. Before she reached him, she felt a powerful gust of wind radiate from her, blowing all six away in one swoop.
Without time to contemplate whether it was her doing, she returned to the forest to defend the others.

(Should keep me going for a while, covered a few posts worth in one just to save time.)

The chopper was going faster, and soon Lysander couldn't follow it anymore, no matter how hard he tried. His wings flapped as often as they could, and he tried gliding. None worked. It was a machine, and humans, or birds, or human-bird hybrids, whatever, had their limits.

With a loud growl of frustration, Lysander had to turn back. Going alone like this would probably cost him his life. Gliding back to the flock, his wings spreaded out like an eagle searching for prey from above.

"Apolla?" Lysander's eyes widened as he looked at the forest below, and saw someone with wings fighting with a bunch of erasers. And judging by the force of her punches, it must be Apolla. Sweeping down, he grabbed one Eraser by the neck and brought him airborne, his grip tighter and tighter as the Eraser suffocated.

Throwing the Eraser somewhere Apolla couldn't see it, and he swept down again, this time, landing next to Apolla.

"I couldn't fly fast enough." Lysander sighed, fending off another Eraser that seemed to have....wings? Wow, they were improving fast. But they couldn't possible be as quick an agile as the flock.

When an Eraser had his back turned, Lysander grabbed his wings and yanked it out of the body, then bashing him with his fist from above.

***

Something doesn't feel right. Daedalus stared as his computer screen. The flock weren't together anymore. The dots were separated. What was going on? Nervous, Daedalus pressed his watch, full of different switches and gadgets and pressed an intercom button, then whispered, sending his words into Apolla's mind (like jed).

Apolla, You have to save your brother while you still can.

Flurry heard Apolla and Silver's yells and jumped up eyes wide. This couldn't be happening it couldn't. This whole situation brought her into a state of panic as she ran out of the house and flew into the woods. Flurry looked around fearfully extremely nervous about what was going on, she was never very good at fighting practice and was alone and scared of what would happen if she ran into an eraser.

Upon hearing a snarl from behind her she froze and waited, then surprisingly at the right moment she turned around and kicked the eraser in the gut kicking him away from her. Looking around she saw the eraser get back up and lunge at her and this time she wasn't so lucky. All she could do was scream as it pinned her to the ground and through her fear and panic she accidentally froze the eraser it still pinning her down on the forest floor.

Lysander suddenly heard a loud scream, coming from a young girl, and left Apolla for now. She could handle herself, but not the screaming Flurry. Follwing the sound of her scream, Lysander found her, an Eraser right on top of her.

"Flurry!" Lysander growled and charged towards the Eraser, about to punch him away, but before he got there, Flurry froze the Eraser with her ice powers, and Lysander's punch broke the Eraser into ice cubes because of the ice magic.

Looking at Flurry, Lysander grinned, "You're improving, Flur."

Scooping her up in his arms, Lysander carried her back to Apolla, placing her on the ground as she could sit, leaning onto a large tree nearby, "Don't want you go get hurt."

With one final look at her, Lysander turned and quickly blocked an Eraser's attack with his reflexes, then bent the Eraser's arm in a strange angle, breaking it.
