The Flock (A Maximum Ride RP) ~ PG-16

Silver gagged and inhaled deeplyy as the bag was forcefully removed. He felt tears well up in his eyes. Suddenly, Silver's eyes turned, well, silver, and the chopper began to shake. His power coming in an outburst. That is, until the eraser punched him in the stomach with the force of a wrecking ball. He curled up immediately, choking and gasping for air. The eraser laughed delightedly.

"Oh, what a meal you'd make.."

-=-

An eraser, one that seemed to be the leader, whistled at the beasts.

"Leave them, we got the test subject, let's go!!"

And in an instant, the remaining erasers retreated.

Before she knew it, the Flock were in combat. Lysander had returned with Flurry, casually breaking an Eraser's arm in the process.
Apolla grinned to him in approval, before roundhouse-kicking an approaching Eraser in the chest, breaking his ribs and knocking the air out of his chest. She had turned to Flurry to say something reassuring when she heard a voice, loud and powerful, echoing around her.

"Apolla, You have to save your brother while you still can."

Apolla paused, turning to Lysander.
"What did you--"

Her lack of concentration earned her a well-aimed punch in the jaw, but as she turned to retaliate, the Erasers had taken to the skies.
Her eyes watered from the blow to her face, and she stared at where the chopper had disappeared from view.

"Everybody back to the house. Prepare to leave." Her voice sounded hollow, and she remembered the disembodied voice.

"As quickly as you can."

Lance simply dropped out of the air and sat on the floor, as he then focused his energies, and then began running as he then opened his wings and once catching a draft of air, he then jumped up and flew into the air. He knew what the code meant, and so he took out a backpack, took some spare clothes, and his favorite possesions as he then flew back to Apolla after gathering her stuff and handed it to her.

Apolla closed her eyes for a moment, gathering her thoughts. When she opened them, Lance was in front of her, holding a bag of her things.
"Thanks Lance," She said weakly.

She looked down at her hands to see the wounds on her hands had reopened in the battle, a small trickle of blood rolling down her wrist. They were aching dully, but had already healed a considerable amount; another perk of being a mutant, she figured.

"Stay here and assemble the others. I'm going to check if we're all clear."

Apolla leapt up into the air, her wings carrying her effortlessly to a high branch, far from the Flock. She sat down, looking at where she'd seen her little brother disappear moments ago.
Great job, Apolla. What sort of leader are you?
These kids looked up to her, she was supposed to be strong. Not only had she fainted in a futile attempt to help Flurry, but said event caused her to nearly sleep through an Eraser attack!
If she'd been awake, she would have stopped them before Silver had been taken. If she hadn't been such an idiot and failed at using her powers in the first place, then the worst would have been a few scratches from a short lived Eraser battle. Now Silver was missing, and they'd have to travel to the school. All six of their lives were at risk.

Anger coursed through her, building as she relived the image of the chopper leaving in her mind. If she stayed angry, she'd end up snapping at one of the others. Best to get it out now.
"ARGH!" Apolla went to punch the tree on which she sat, but as she raised her fist a blast of wind erupted from her, causing her to fall of her branch.
She caught herself in the air just in time; so the wind was her.
She breathed out slowly, calming herself down.

Right now, she couldn't care less about the ability. She now had to tell her family that they had to return to the place they spent years trying to escape. And that the chances are they won't be so lucky to do it a second time round.

-Seto growled loudly, swinging his fist and creating a hole the size of a wrecking ball in the wall to his left. His hair grew a shade darker, and his hair a bit longer. This was a red flag to him, and so he quickly calmed down. The rage process couldn't be reset until it was completed. Right now, he was at the first of the 9 stages. Every level, he would change, becoming more hateful, rutheless, and even more insane, until... HE was released. He opened his eyes, hearing the code, and flew towards the voice. When he landed, he placed a hand on Apolla's shoulder, but said nothing, and after a few moments, he walked away.-

Silver awoke in the School, in a cage that was clearly too small for him. For a meal, he was handed a few slices of stale bread and a half-cup of water. Every few hours or so, 8 times a day, he was let out, and abused from the experiments taken on him. He could hear their thoughts, which only made things worse. They thought things like "I can't wait to dissect this specimen" and "Aren't we lucky to be working with this one... I wonder what it's insides are like..."

Until one day, his cage was tossed into a room. And he heard a hauntingly familiar voice, one he had heard only a few times, but knew the voice by heart. His heart sank into his stomache. Daedalus!

"Silver is here?" Daedalus's eyes widened as he stood up, listening to what the other scientists were saying. Quickly leaving his own room he hurried into the the experimenting room, where the Flock members were trapped before they were set free a while ago. Indeed, Silver was there.

Daedalus did inject some chemicals into their bodies, enhancing their movments and strength, and he did train them rather harshly before. But now seeing Silver weak like this, trapped in the cage, Daedalus just wanted to help. Walking towards the cage, he shook it gently - a sign to tell Silver that he was here. The Flock hated him, because he inserted different experiments to make them suffer. But now he was just trying to help them...

"Here's a energy bar to help you. I'll see what I can do, I'll free you if I can but-" Daedalus took out a green energy bar and smiled, even though he knew Silver couldn't see it. When he was about to hand it over the door opened, and Daedalus quickly stood up, turning around to see who it was, his hands, and the bar behind his back.

"Daedalus, I hope you're not trying to save them again." Sonora glanced at him, then at Silver, "You know if you keep this up, they'll fire you. Now stay out of my way."

Daedalus gulped, and slowly released his grip, placing the bar behind Silver's wings so people couldn't see it. Walking away stiffly, Daedalus rushed out of the room, hoping that Sonora wouldn't do anything bad to him right now, because he was powerless against the Itex, as they wanted the Flock back.

Itex didn't know who released the Flock earlier, so Daedalus wasn't in trouble. Sonora knew, however, and if Daedalus did something bad to her, she was going to tell everybody about it.

Fortunately Sonora walked out of the room, so Silver could be safe...for now.

Reaching for his watch he spoke again, only to Apolla, How could you let the Erasers kidnap Silver? We're all counting on you, Apolla. You are stronger when you are with the Flock, but when you are seperated from the others, the Erasers can hunt you down easy. Silver is in trouble, and you need to get here as soon as possible.

Silver whimpered a bit at all the commotion. But the one thing he knew was not trust whitecoats. Not even Daedalus. No. Especially not Daedalus. He grabbed the bar and handed it to some other monstrocity. It was probably another test, or the bar had something else they want to inject him with. He curled up in his tiny cage and began to cry. It was after-hours soon, when the whitecoats leave and dinner is given, and he could sleep knowing there were no experiments at night.

M-mommy, brother, wh-where are you all!? He thought, curled into a ball, his wings wrapped around him, as he sulked in the dark room.

Apolla turned to return to what remained of her Flock, feeling considerably calmer. She exhaled slowly, and was already soaring over the tree canopy when the voice she'd heard earlier spoke to her, loudly.

How could you let the Erasers kidnap Silver? We're all counting on you, Apolla. You are stronger when you are with the Flock, but when you are seperated from the others, the Erasers can hunt you down easy. Silver is in trouble, and you need to get here as soon as possible.

Apolla turned her head wildly and did a 360 in the air, looking for the source of the disembodied voice. It had sounded like it was right next to her.

Her confusion quickly turned to anger, and then to hurt. How could she let them? Like she had decided to be outrun by a chopper taking her brother away?
The wind picked up, and Apolla forced calmness upon herself. She knew she should be concerned about the voice, but decided to put it to the back of her mind. She was too exhausted, and all the energy she had needed to be focused on finding Silver.

She bolted towards the earth, landing swiftly next to Lance. They'd wasted too much time already; they had to leave, now.

Lance looked at Apolla's shows of rage with curiosity and he then said, "What's with all the energy? I mean, I know that you're angry, but why the shows of anger?"

Lance wanted to know out of curiosity, due to the fact that he felt empty without the flock's emotions to substitute his own, and Silver's emotions made him feel like he wasn't alone.

Lance then said, "Let's go. And by the way, who are you looking for?"

(Sorry I was gone yesterday got in trouble with my parents)

Flurry looked at Apolla as she got angry and quickly walked over to her hugging Apolla's legs. "We'll find Silver Mommy....and everything will be okay" she whispered looking up at Apolla her emerald green eyes those of an innocent child who might not realize how bad things might be. She smiled a small childish smile as she kept looking up at Apolla. "Don't be angry....none of this is any of our fault and Silver will be fine....he has to be" she whispered. But even as she said this she couldn't help but be worried What if everything is not okay?

Apolla looked down at Flurry, and forced a smile.
"I'm not angry guys. You know me, calm as a cucumber."

She swung her bag over her shoulder, glancing over to Lance. He was right in what he said earlier; Flurry needed to know that not everything was a basket of roses.

"It's going to be hard, guys. It's gonna be scary, and we're all in danger if we don't work together."
She swallowed hard, irritated that what the odd voice had said was right.
"But we need Silver back, because he's alone. We're so much stronger when the Flock is complete."

She leapt in the air.
"Everyone ready? Let's go."

Flurry looked at Apolla and leapt into the air as well holding her bag over her shoulder. "I'm ready" she said looking at the others. She knew she was the youngest there but was determined to prove her worth. She was going to try her hardest to hold her own in a fight and not have to rely on being saved like before. "Are we going back to the school?" she asked.

Flurry sighed after asking that and visibly shivered knowing what the answer was. She wasn't to happy to go back to the school but if it was to save Silver she would do it. For the Flock she would conquer her fear. When she looked back at Apolla gone was the innocent childish look in her eyes. In it's place was a look that showed worry, sadness, fear, but most of all determination.

The look of determination in Flurry's eyes was both inspiring and heart-breaking. No seven year old should have to risk their lives saving their friend from a demonic madhouse. Most seven year olds spend most their time trying to think of ways to get rid of their vegetables.

The idea of going back there was horrific. The place was associated with agony, claustrophobia, imminent death. If they entered, then the white-coats would do all they can to prevent them leaving, alive or not.

Well, here goes nothing.

-Seto stayed silent still, but he could feel his own rage gradually growing, his hair getting longer, messier, and darker. He felt the other presence within him begin to war against him, fighting for its freedom. He pushed away the thought and rose in the air, his wings beating at a steady pace, and keeping him aloft. The only thing that could be amis, was that the air around him began to smell of ozone. He turned to Flrry and Apolla, and nodded, while his arms seemed to be pulsing with an inhuman amount of electricity.-

Lance simply held his bag and showed his full wingspan, and then he jumped up, giving the momentum needed for him to fly, as he flew close to Seto, out of curiosity, and out of intrigue of the other set of emotions that was emanating from him, someone else's emotions, but still in Seto's body.

Lance then said, "Let's go, we need to get as far from here as possible or they will catch us."

Lysander stood at a side, observing the flock. Once again, they had forgotten him. As Flurry and the others took off, Lysander followed, his grey wings flapping in a steady rhythm. Without his brother he was much lonelier than before, and hadn't spoke much since the Erasers came.

Lance then said, "Let's go, we need to get as far from here as possible or they will catch us."

That was a good point, and Lysander flew higher up into the big sky, the Flock below him. They didn't really need him anyways. He wasn't really that important, the flock could survive without this outcast that couldn't even see well. And his powers weren't so helpful either.

Brother, I'll find out where you are. Then I'll come for you myself. Lysander thought, waiting for the boss Apolla to command.

Flurry looked as Lysander flew higher than the rest of them. With a confused look she flew up next to him and grabbed his hand. "We'll find him big brother." she whispered softly not letting go of his hand. She smiled at him remembering something and hugged him "Thanks for saving me from that eraser" she said as she hugged him. She wasn't sure if he had heard what she told Apolla and Lance but even if he didn't it was obvious she was being more open with them.

Lysander was surprised as Flurry came up to him, holding his hand. She called him big brother, and that warmed is heart a little. Then she hugged him warmly, so Lysander wrapped his hands around her back and cuddled her. Well he was feeling a little better now. But still, Apolla could heal and control elements, Flurry could freeze, Silver could read minds...etc, he could only dodge, dodge and dodge...unaware of his new talent coming up from deep inside of him.

"I didn't save you Flur, you saved yourself." Lysander smiled, patting her softly, "Are you feeling better now?"

Lysander could still picture her crying in the middle of the night, screaming because of the nightmare, and hope that she'll feel better. But Silver wasn't here, so maybe not. Flurry did seem a little more open with him. Apolla too. He didn't know why, but he didn't wanna pry so he stayed silent.

"Anything you wanna tell me, Flur?" Lysander asked, a little grin on his face. If there's a chance to ask her about the nightmare, it's now. Up in the air.

Flurry looked at him and spoke softly. "When I was three they ran a test on me that I'll never forget. They wanted to see if I could use my ice powers to heal a wound" she whispered moving her hair and showing the scar "They cut me several times all over but only this one was bad enough to scar...it's because I fought back that they cut me so deeply." she grew quiet looking at him with sad eyes "It's been haunting me for four years...that's why I never sleep. Everytime I try that's all I see."
