The Flock (A Maximum Ride RP) ~ PG-16

Lysander listened. So that's what happened. Looking at the scar Lysander gasped. It was a big one, and the cut was pretty deep. Imagine the scientists doing that to a three year old child. Cruel...a bunch of monsters...how could they ever do such a thing? And now she's stuck with this scar.

That's not all, she had nightmares...unable to sleep properly...Lysander's hatred started to grow...he hated all scientists...

Especially you, Daedalus. I can't see with my left eye because of you. Lysander scowled, Daedalus' image floating inside his head. Shaking the image away Lysander looked at Flurry again.

"Do you think you can heal it when your ice powers improve as you mature?" Lysander asked. Maybe in the future...someone...or something could heal that wound...

Flurry hugged Lysander again "Apolla tried and it ended up with her passing out" she whispered. "and I highly doubt my ice can help heal it. All I can do is stop a wound from bleeding with it" she added softly as she kept hugging him.

"But maybe now...that I've told you guys maybe the insomnia will go away" she whispered. "Maybe I'll be able to get the first good night of sleep since before it happened" she whispered the exhaustion still showing on her face but as usual she ignored it.

Lysander frowned as she told him about the scar. Apolla tried and passed out? What kind of scar is that?!

"You look tired, Flurry..." Lysander noticed her sleepy eyes and whispered, "You need some sleep?" then he looked at her scar again, something telling him that the scar may be able to be cured.

"Let me see." Lysander suggested and places his hand onto her scar and felt it. Just then the weirdest feeling channeled in Lysander's body, and Lysander's left eye glowed, the iris turning blood-red. He couldn't see it though, since there was no mirror. Then he felt a strange power inside of him, unexplainable and strange. Empowered or Weakened, he couldn't decide.

His left eye glowed even brighter as he pressed his hand against her forehead, and the scar seemed to be smaller than before. Illusion or not, Lysander was also not sure. When he let go of the scar he felt dizzy and his wings stopped flapping in mid air. Going unconscious, he dropped like a stone, heading towards the pointy rocks below...

Daedalus's watch beeped and Daedalus looked. A smile was on his face, "The grey winged one's starting to develop his second power."

Flurry winced when Lysander put his hand on the scar and she saw his left eye turn red. But before she could say anything he fell unconscious and fell from the sky. "Lysander!" she yelled worriedly seeing him fall towards sharp rocks. She knew there was nothing she could do to slow the fall but she landed quickly and used her powers to cover the rocks in a flat sheet of ice and then covered that in snow her green eyes glowing ice blue. But after that her powers exhausted she collapsed falling unconscious as well.

Lysander, unconscious, fell from the sky, right onto the sharp rocks, not knowing about the ice and snow that was covering them. Lysander dropped onto the rocks, but the ice and the snow sheltered his fall, and he slid right off the rocks and onto the rockless floor.

Opening his eyes slowly, he blinked in awe as the rocks were turned into ice and snow. If it wasn't for Flurry he's dead. His left eye turned grey once again, and even though the headache remained, he was conscious now. He had no idea what happened just now, but before he could think about it he saw Flurry falling onto the rocks too, and the ice was melting quick.

Launching himself into the air with his feet and his wings, he charged and caught the little winged girl with his hands, carrying her as he flew past the rocks. The headache was back again and he tumbled onto the floor, crash landing as he let go of Flurry accidentally, the bird kids tumbling on the ground.

"Flurry!" scratching his head, Lysander ran towards the unconscious Flurry and shook her gently. But what surprised him was - the scar was a little smaller, and it wasn't an illusion.

Flurry whimpered in pain as she weakly opened her eyes and saw Lysander kneeling over her. Her head was really hurting her and she felt like she had no energy. On top of that she didn't remember anything that happened after he started falling. Weakly sitting up she hugged him "What happened? the last thing I remember is you falling" she whispered cuddling closer to him "are you okay big brother?" she asked worriedly "your not hurt are you?" she added trembling from worry. She still felt really weak and tired and all she wanted was to sleep but she was afraid of her nightmare coming back.

"are you okay big brother?" she asked, laying down weakly.

"I-I'm fine. You saved me with your ice magic, Flur...thank you..." Lysander answered, still kneeling before her, looking at the smaller scar, "And I think your scar's smaller now...I have no idea why....anything different about me?"

Lysander's eyes did turn red when he placed his hand onto her scar, but he didn't know it. He stroke her hair gently, "Flur, if you're tired, you can sleep. I'm here so you can cling onto me if you have a nightmare. If you won't sleep you'll be in a worse condition."

Plus, the scar's smaller...maybe...just maybe...the Nightmare won't be a worse as before...but what's happening to me? Why am I having these headaches? And why am I fainting suddenly?

Flurry nodded sleepily as he stroked her hair. Though she didn't want to she found herself slowly starting to fall asleep and rubbed her eyes as she yawned. "the moment you touched my scar your left eye turned red" she whispered. "Then you just passed out" she added sleepily as she yawned again eyes drooping. "You'll really be there if I have a bad dream" she whispered. "you pr-promise" she said as her eyes closed and she allowed sleep to take her for the first time in days.

Lysander was astonished as he heard her, blinking, then frowned, not sure if he heard it correctly.

"My left eye turned red...?" Lysander questioned, puzzled, but when Flurry fell asleep, Lysander decided to do a little research about it later. He walked towards a little pond next to him, the water surface as smooth as a mirror and looked at his own reflection. His left eye was still grey...so why did she say...perhaps she was seeing things...but how could he explain the headache and the fainting?

Going back to Flurry's side, Lysander covered her body with one of his grey wings, acting like a blanket so she could have a good night sleep. Meanwhile, where were the others?

"Rest, little sis."

Apolla turned with the intention of asking the others where the school was. Probably something she should know, if they had any chance of getting there.

As she stopped to look at the others, Lysander dropped out of the sky. Apolla sighed.
"'Sander, stop messing ar--"

The air went cold, and Apolla looked up at Flurry. As she tilted her head, Flurry went limp, and fell from the air.

"No!"

Apolla shot to the ground, stilling the air as to remove resistance. She searched frantically for the two of them before spotting two dark spots on the snow beneath her.
Snow?

Apolla darted to the dots below her, landing a little less gracefully than she imagined and tumbling in the snow.
She looked up to see Flurry wrapped in Lysander's wings, apparently asleep.

She sighed with relief, dropping like a stone into the snow. These kids will be the death of me.

Silver rolled away, narrowly dodging a laser. His eyes were pale silver-white, as he charged through rooms and hallways, his power rising and dropping rapidly. He sent whitecoats to the walls. I'm not going to stay here... I'm breaking out!!! He boke into a room, before the mean whitecoat woman from earlier appeared, and five erasers gave chase.
Silver felt tears and scratcjes everywhere, and suddenly his eyes turned white. "STOP!!!" He roared, and everything near him seemed to explode in the other direction. His eyes turned back to one-purple-one-blue and he walked into the final room. Daedalus was there. Silver, despite blindness, shot him a glare. And with that, he broke through the window of Daedalus' lab, and flew away.
He flew for days, until he caught scent that was far too familiar. The flock!! He shouted and waved at them, before his wounds and his used power forced him to passed out. He landed on a city street, though as a final defence, what hit the gound wasn't an angel or a bird-kid. Instead, a small white wolf lay weak on the sidewalk.

"'Sander?" Apolla whispered timidly, as not to wake Flurry. "D'you think we could carry her? It's just, Silver. I don't want him in that school for longer than necessary..."

She looked down at Flurry. All Flock members were both incredibly light and had superhuman strength. Carrying the smallest member wouldn't be an issue for any of them.

"And with the wind currents, we'll get there in no time."
With that, the wind picked up, and Apolla was surprised at how much she could control it already. She smirked to let Lysander know it was her doing.

Lance was mostly an observer, knowing that Lysander was impressed with himself and that a weight on Flurry's chest has been lifted. Lance the saw the two of them falling as the two entered thought processes that only happen when asleep, and he couldn't react fast enough. Lance then landed when Apolla landed and kept quiet.

"Hm, we shouldn't stop, we need to get away from here and to find Silver. I know that all of you are intrigued but we can always satisfy our curiosity in a remote place with the whole gang there. Personally, I don't understand why Lysander had a plethora of emotions and picked love and charity for Flurry, when he could've picked hope and purity, and it would've had more of an effect."

Lance then said that after turning his back and focuseing.

(OOC - Silver has now escaped the School, and we're skipping forward to looking for food in the city before going to find him)

Apolla's feet pounded the sidewalk, the Flock behind her, Flurry's hand in hers.
She hated being around so many people. Why did it have to be so busy? She was half expecting one of the people around her to sprout fangs and fur, and so she and the Flock were prepared to fight at all times.
Man, being locked up in an evil lair can really make you paranoid.

Suddenly, Apolla came to an abrupt halt, causing Flurry to bump into her legs. There was something on the sidewalk in front of her, which she was seconds away from standing on.

Apolla knelt down in front of what appeared to be something between a small wolf and a big dog, lying unconscious on the floor. Apolla's first instinct was one of fear; to her, wolves had always meant Erasers, and Erasers had always led to battles to the death.

But as Apolla looked at the wolf, she felt some sort of familiarity. It's white fur looked almost like it belonged to someone she knew. An overpowering maternal feeling came over Apolla, not unlike the one she felt when the Flock was hurt. Without a sound, she picked up the tiny wolf, and carried on walking.

Flurry looked at the small wolf that Apolla picked up and couldn't shake the feeling that she recognized it. She quickly followed after Apolla sticking close to her legs. There was a big difference in Flurry. After she managed to successfully take a nap the bags under her eyes were less prominent and she looked much better than before. "Mommy...does that wolf remind you of anyone?" she asked as the crowd got bigger and Flurry grabbed onto Apolla's pants so they wouldn't get separated.

Apolla waited a few seconds before she answered.

"Yes." She said softly. "Can't quite put my finger..." She trailed off, looking down at the new addition to the gang.

She couldn't really explain it; it was almost as if she felt complete, jubilant, but she couldn't explain why, not even to herself.
Apolla doesn't trust anyone outside her Flock, but looking at the wolf made her feel safe. She was keen to find somewhere quiet so she could try to revive it; maybe all would come clear then.

Flurry nodded. "I can't place it either" she said before whimpering slightly at the crowd. For some reason Flurry felt unsafe in crowds. It made her feel like something could grab her or she could get separated from the others. The other thing she hated about crowds was the noise which made it hard to hear her small voice. Turning her head she ended up tripping and not paying attention and when she looked up she couldn't see the Flock anymore. "M-Mommy!" she yelled knowing it chanced not being heard.

"Who are you?" Apolla whispered to the wolf. At hearing her voice, she could've sworn she saw it stir. Hmm. My imagination no doubt.

She suddenly became aware that there was no child tugging on her pants anymore. She wheeled around, aware that the unconscious, bright white wolf in her arms made her stand out like a sore thumb. The whole flock had disappeared.

"Flurry? Flurry!"
Apolla retraced her steps, pushing through the crowd.
"Oh come on, not here. Flurry! Sander?"

Apolla strode down the street, shouting the names of her Flock.
Entirely alone, Apolla remembered something she'd heard a few weeks ago:
"When you are seperated from the others, the Erasers can hunt you down easy."

A pit in her stomach, Apolla broke into a run.

Flurry whimpered frightened as she managed to get out of the crowd. "Mommy! Mo-Mommy!' she cried loudly trembling from fear at being separated from the flock. She trembled and though she should have stayed put she kept looking around not realizing the danger of being all alone out in the open until she heard a low growl from behind her.

Flurry froze eyes wide and turned around just in time for the eraser to kick her in the stomach. It sent Flurry back a ways and she fell to her knees tears in her eyes from pain and she screamed "MOMMY!!"

Apolla's heart almost stopped when she heard a familiar, terrified voice scream "MOMMY!"

"RUN FLURRY!" Apolla yelled, running to the place where the voice came from. She darted through the crowds, who seemed unrealistically at ease with the sight of a girl screaming, running and carrying a limp wolf. The wolf. How am I supposed to fight with a dog in my arms?

Apolla heard another scream, and so had no time to figure out the schematics. Finally, a white-blonde head could be seen in front of her, a snarling beast even closer.
Dog or no, Apolla was ready. She jumped in the air and kicked the Eraser in the face, landing nimbly on her feet.
It came at her again, but Apolla was prepared. A gust of wind shot out of her, hitting him square in the chest.

"Flurry, I got this! Up and out! Don't worry about the people here, just get going! Now!" Apolla yelled, as the Eraser came back for another hit.
