A lot of people have said that OR/AS completely doom X/Y from being significant anymore. While that is true for those particular games, that doesn't necessarily mean that the story of the Kalos region is over, right?

Consider the fact that both Gen III and IV had remakes AND version 3 of the new games. They could easily come back to the Kalos region after OR/AS and answer some questions (more details about the war, the two extra power plants, etc.) Not to mention I can't see them completely abandoning Kalos when it hasn't even been around for a year.

Long story short: Do you think there is still a future for the Kalos region, and how will these new releases impact it, if at all?

If memory serves correct, back in Gen III we got Emerald *after* Fire Red and Leaf Green, and they've never *not* done a third game, so, my vote is yes, we will likely be returning to Kalos.

Kalos is definitely here to stay. In fact, I can see some side games with Kalos as it's region (or somewhere either nearby or related to it).

Since (or if) they want to maintain popularity of X and Y, perhaps they put another region inside it suggested by Strange Souvenir, which could be unlocked by trading Pokémon over from OR and AS? I don't know, but it's just an idea. d:

I am kind of thinking that maybe they will somehow connect the 2 unreleashed legendaries to Kalos + Hoenn - but I really don't know how. I mean, they still have 2 legendaries to release and they are already releasing new games? Maybe there will be a connection somehow :o

I can also see a connection with the Lati@sites. You'll probably obtain them in XY, then have to trade them/Lati@s over to use them.

I like the extra region theory just because of the story of the war. I think it would be good to get some insight on what happened in the other regions. Perhaps they are unlocked by a Pokémon in OR/AS and in them are the other legendaries? It's quite possible.

Anyone who says that hasn't been with Pokemon for long. We got FR/LG before Emerald. My answer is undoubtedly yes.

As I stated before, this was something I saw several people say, so I just felt it had to be addressed. I'm just making sure that the vast majority doesn't see the Kalos region as doomed because of the remakes. It's not. They just want to promote this remake because they know it will be huge, in my opinion.

If we're getting a third Kalos game I hope they do something about the goddamn endgame, I want something as big and awesome as the Sevii islands or something like Platinums endgame

If they're going to do a third game they need to overhaul the story a bit, it's really bland imo, except for the whole war thing, that was cool

Seems silly that we wouldn't revisit the region again this generation. Whether we get a third game, sequels like B/W, or even being able to go to it in OA/AS (such weird abbreviations. Gonna take some time to get used to them), we will see Kalos again. I just hope it's in a more interesting way than expected and that they catch us off guard like Gen 5.

It hasn't been that long for nintendo to release a remake already, the real answer they did so was probably because everyone wanted the remake more than the official next gen game, Kalos isn't doomed but it is definitely going to be in some trouble.

I'd say that's about right. These games will almost certainly be huge. Besides, ever notice Kalos's suspiciously shallow post-game? I think most of us new we'd be getting another game in at least a year.

ORAS is guaranteed to be a gargantuan release, considering the feisty speculation of its existence over the past few years. X and Y will probably be in the shadows for a while as we get closer and closer to November. However, I doubt it's the end of Kalos. After the Hoenn remakes, it's definitely possible that they develop a sequel that features new parts of the region containing all-new Pokemon to fill out their rather small region-native list. I was really disappointed with the amount of new Pokemon in Kalos, so as far-fetched as that may seem, I hope it happens. :]

Gargantuan is right. I wouldn't be surprised if the next Kalos game didn't come out until early-mid 2016, actually.
