thats just a fact, it'll go down in history textbooks that they were.

i don't know about you guys but i'm ready for a new storyline or some newness to the games
 
I want the games to feel more personal. I go through the story knowing that I look like and am basically going through the same steps as everyone else in the world and I think that if Pokemon could eliminate that feeling, they would be the ultimate games. Skin tone and clothing please!

Though, I like the idea of a dark gym leader... not sure about champion though... we have an elite four member anyway :\
 
A Dark type Gym Leader is badly needed in Gem 5, I agree. We've had one of every other type. Although, I don't like a Dark typed Elite 4 Member/Pokemon League Champion. I have no idea why, but that doesn't seem to be a good idea.

Exactly my thoughts. And I hate how the player just gets two choices; male or female, instead of getting choices for accessories, skin colour, clothing and whatnot. I mean, when I'm playing, I just feel like playing as "Lucas" or "Dawn" instead of myself.

I say give us another evil Gym Leader like Giovanni, but who plays another role. Not the head of the evil team, but perhaps the role of an enigmatic thief or maybe a lone wolf who helps you at points but has her own evil agenda? Just a thought =)

And, yes, a Dark-Type Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member is needed. Yeah, we got Sidney and Karen, but we also got Will and Lucian for Psychic-Type. Why not include a third for both and make the other two Bug- and Fighting-Type? Besides, Sidney sucked ass =P

Now, I'd like to see a bigger role played by the NPCs when it comes to the Legendaries, similar to how big a role the Kimono Girls played in SoulSilver. Who wouldn't want to see them perform another awsome dance?
 
I like the idea of a Dark Gym Leader. I agree it would be pretty cool to have one.

Now I know they said Gen 5 will appear on the DS (ugh IMO) but I wonder if it'll have some exclusive features for the recently announced Nintendo 3DS or if it'll actually be entirely for that platform instead (still technically a DS). And for those not in the know, the 3DS is the next handheld from Nintendo, announced today, full reveal at E3 in June. Not a DSi or XL or anything, but a brand new handheld that features 3D technology but without the glasses apparently.

Yes, I would love to have personalization for the next game. But I also think there should be choices you have to make that take you in different directions, just so you're not following the same old storyline each time.
 
If you think about, the release of the Pokemon game announced could kind of coincide with the release of the new system... it said at the end of that year thingy (forgot the term haha) and the Pokemon game was supposed to be towards the end of the year. Or maybe im being really optimistic.
 
I really hope I won't be missing out by playing the new games on my DS lite,because I don't really want to buy a new system that will probably be like 200$
 
OMG, I hope the new games come out on the Nintendo 3DS!!! We might finally have a proper pokemon game in 3D :D I will be sure to buy if they do!

Edit: The official statement reads: "Nintendo will launch 3DS"(temp) during the fiscal year ending March 2011"

They said the new games would be this year... I should quit while I am ahead.. :\

Corocoro is supposed to be releasing come new information on the 5th generation games in the next issue so we should know more by then...

Well Nikkei, a Japanese business site, has managed to get more information on the 3DS saying it'll have a thumbstick, rumble and will be released at the back half of 2010, most likely in Japan. That means both Gen 5 and the 3DS could be released roughly at the same time, with both having a Western launch this time next year probably.

I would really prefer Gen 5 to be on the next handheld rather than the DS, so I hope it comes out for the 3DS...but I won't hold my breath.
 
Well it makes sense for it to be released on the 3DS in my opinion, what's a better starting game then one of Nintendo's most sucessful franchises? So far the Gen 5 hype has been huge, and noticing the fan-base size, who ISNT going to buy a 3DS to play the Fifth Gen game??

Everyone remember the Rocket-A-Go-Go? Well, after beating him (HGSS), he mentions he's going to try to build Team Rocket "in his own country."

From this, I speculate that the Fifth Generation will return to having Team Rocket as the main antagonist. Any thoughts? Hahaha.

As long as it's affordable I'm all for it, but every time I enter a new town in HGSS I feel like crying, it's such a beautiful game!!

I think it's being released in March 2011 here in NA & EU. Japan will more than likely get it late this year, which is when gen. 5 is expected to role out there, and considering how Japan has gotten systems 3-5 months before us (on average) then it could be out there as early as October along w/ Gen 5 and yeah around march here. Still can't wait for the 3DS!

I HATE Team Rocket. Nintendo should continue on with Team Galaxy (they were awesome IMO). It makes perfectly good sense, Team Galaxy goes to the new region in hunt of Zoroark, the master of illusions.

I agree with both of you. But the different directions...hmmm, idk about that. How would it work? A new style of battling (no more going to menu and taping a block) could be used, and they could reposition the camera to deliver the ultimate 3D experience..Have it placed in front of the trainer, as in you are viewing things through their eyes making every turn or corner a new surprise. It could get frustrating, but I'm sure they could make it work! I'd like to see more controls for Fly too. I don't know if any of you have played DBZ: Buu's Fury but when flying you had a total 360 view of your surroundings. Nintendo could put this in the gen 5 games. To sum it up, they should use the 3DS to its full potential with this.

Haha... The same thing went through my mind when I met him as well. I wouldn't count out Team Galactic though. Maybe there's a reason why Platinum kept mentioning Cyrus's disappearance... Maybe they'll appear, but not really have anything to do with the story. Or maybe the two will team up...
