5th Gen The Generation Five Speculation Thread

I feel like Hoenn was the best region actually. The fact that it was cut if from all other regions, and the entire feel to it was the best for me. If this new region can allow me to feel the same way, which it already seems to be, will make it my favorite region yet. Think about it. Them giving us a new generation now gives access to virtually EVERY Pokemon. The 3DS is said to have backwards compatibility so the 5th generation will carry on to that system so we should be set for a while.

Actually the turn based battling is not the selling point, you must really be naive because the main point that gets pushed is "Gatta cath 'em all" which means catching and battling pokemon, the turn based was there because there was no other way. It's not the turn absed battling, it's the fact that you capture and battle creature which are two different things.

I see more of Oakland/San Francisco just cause I think the bridge in the background resembles the Bay Bridge more than the Brookland Bridge. Though the close up version of the Bridge seems to have the same build as the Golden Gate. Either way I'm saying San Fran.

Being honest, San Francisco didn't even come to mind. When I think about it though and compare, they do share a similar resemblance in city as well (including the Golden Gate Bridge) like NYC. Actually, it would make a bit more sense since location wise, San Fransisco is a lot closer to Japan's area than New York is. With the mention of airplane or boat as transportation to get to Isshu Region, then it makes more sense as well to travel to San Fransisco by boat rather than travel to New York by boat.

lol its like they screw us over in one way or another in each gen. Sinnoh was huge, new, and is really fun to play over and over again, but it didn't have as many decent pkmn as previous gens though the pkmn were imo still great. If you get what I mean.

Hoenn was pretty big too though it got boring after beating pkmn league.
Johto was too small, and Kanto was great but it also lacked fun things after the league. I wonder what will be gen 5's flaw.

ya its true, we always lose 1 thing, but gain several lol
i just hope that the contests go bakc to the hoenn way, they were far better!

well we already partially know what is gonna be on the game cover, but I wonder if they will put a pokemon on it. I suggest just maybe a pic of Isshu region. I hope the english logos aren't in yellow! Notice how the Japanese logos always look better than the ones not in Japanese?

I still like the Pearl case though...I think I accidentally threw mine away :(. Weird I always keep my cases and really bummed I threw Pearl's case away....I might even buy another Pearl just to have another case..lol. how long does Nintendo typically make new games for older gens? :D

I wouldn't mind that. That would mean we will get like 173 new pokemon! 73 more than we got in Gen IV..woohoo, go 666!!!!

OR Darkrai? xD Yeah there's no way Pokemon would be stupid stupid enough to do that!!

I think they're both pretty safe bets. It doesn't look like it has San Francisco's hills but the Skyline seems to be able to match both. Though the other pictures suggest a multi cultural sort of area, I haven't been to New York but in San Fran they have coffee houses on every block and it's all really relaxed. Not to mention it has Little Italy, ChinaTown, a street dedicated to Jazz and much much more including one of America's 3 recognised Japantowns...
