SwampertTrainer:The outer glow on the text lucario is good, but the silverish c4d doesnt really match. The size is way too big, and its a little too hard to see the render.

A couple questions:
What is a c4d?
What size should I be using in the future? and;
I'm not sure you use the word "render" correctly, since that term usually applies to 3-dimensional graphics, and describes the process of giving the final image and adding all effects. In Photoshop, you see the final as you create it...

Sorry if have been jabbering on a bit.
A c4d is like a big abstract brush you use to make the banner look better.
A rennder is the image you use in a banner.

Ah. Well, seeing as I didn't know a c4d was, obviously I didn't use it- only the plain old airbrush tool. As for the render, were you referring to the one on the left or right?

I was referring to the lucario. You might be thinking of the c4d, which counts as a render too.

Which Lucario? There's two...

rate please ;P - I don't think i have posted it here yet.

@El Capitano: I can't really say for the meaning behind the actual image, since I don't know what it's from, but I like splattered effects around the figure. The contrast of the right image adds nicely to the lighter colors of figure and the image on the left, giving for a balance that's easy on the eyes.

Here's my siganture I made for n64 on Eon Dimension Clan:

No, Renyui lied to you SwampertTrainer. >:| Giving out false information like that, how could you Renyui?

He was right about the render, but c4d's are not big abstract brushes. They're images made in a program called Cinema 4D that you can use on your banners to give extra effects. There are different kinds of c4ds; Effect c4d's are usually more glowy with black backgrounds, and abstract ones are usually the cool looking ones with transparent backgrounds. evilcheese is making a c4d tutorial, but I can show you some examples too, if you still don't know what I'm talking about. c4d's are a pretty big thing in graphics. ;D

First of all, this banner is too dark. Overall, it's really hard to see the effects, and it's even harder to read the text. You need to work on your placement, basically where you decide to position your renders. This is kind of something you get a knack for after practicing making banners for awhile, but see how far you've shoved the two renders to the sides? That's not good. D: And then your Houndoom... I dunno, but it looks like you did something to the lines that makes him really unclear. I don't really like that either. The Vendetta mask is really the only thing I like about this tag, and it's shoved way too far to the left. So basically, in terms of placement, what you'd want to do is move the mask more to the right. And move the Houndoom diagonally down-left. Enough to the right so that there's at least like, ten pixels between Houndoom's chest and the very side of the tag, and enough down so that you can see more of his head. The text is absolutely unreadable, but since you're kind of just starting out, I'll leave my comments on the text and background until you get placement down, okay? xD; Placement is really really important.

This was actually a request made by n64, and I was just bowing to his wishes. He told me the Vendetta mask on the left and the Houndoom on the right.
For the Houndoom, I've been kinda playing with this effect in which I copy the base image to another layer, enlarge it, and add a sketchy filter such as watercolor (in this case) or pencil, then decrease the opacity of the layer to just enough where you can still see it, but the bottom layer is the one you focus on. I did this with Riolu9's avatar and it worked beautifully

Swampert Trainer:
Nice avatar, you have a knack for making them. The thing you need to make sure with on avatars is colours. They can be super bright, contrasty and everything because generally the focal will take up most of the space so blending and stuff is thrown out the window. I think you should play around with curves, gradient maps and photo filters to add some depth and sharper colours. Just so it stands out more and is less boring. If you don't know what I mean, ask Hazuki as she is the master of colour and filters and stuff.

Another one...

Well, since the last one was me, here's another. I'm not serious about this one, just an experiment for my own new sig to get feedback and advice fore improvement.

Swampert Trainer:
Okai this is much better than some of your others. The background is more detailed while it doesn't draw attention from the renders which is always good.
The text is quite good, maybe just move the "Trainer" over to the right a bit more so it doesn't look like one word.. And finally, try not to cover the renders as much. If you want to cover them, okai but erase over their faces maybe so they get more focal..

Eh not sure if I like this yet but the render was kinda a bit bright...

Um.. I don't know who's the rate so I'll rate Kuggles. o_o;;

Kuggles; I really like the style of it, it all flows well together, but it seems kinda.. Monotoned to me. :\ The text is good and yeah it's kind of bright around her face. XD But it contrast well with the black part~

Aizuke: I like all of the effects you have there because they are all really cool, but one thing I don't really like is you're clippiong mask to the left of the render. It just looks out of place, and in my opinion doesent benefit the banner at all. another thing you can work on is color. Usualy I think you do well. But this particular banner has no vibrant colors.

"image removed"

first banner i made i just started using photoshop

i aint no pro so i can't criticise but i like the banner above very bright and colourful.

swampert man_08: Good picture, but its a little big. It looks like you havent done much to the background, and you could have done better with blending. Nice go for first try, though.
