Liliana had to admit, it was a beautiful road to be at. But that still didn't make it any less annoying to travel through. There were lots of rocks in the area, and she'd tripped at least three time over one. Djali was intent on sniffing everything and tackling every Pokémon she saw. Lili just didn't have enough energy to run around trying to keep her from antagonizing everyone else. Honestly, she wasn't sure if she wouldn't just prefer the nervous and timid side of Djali. At least that Djali was a lot less to deal with.

And then there was the problem of the rapidly growing foliage around her. There seemed to be two options. Either you chose the road beside the river or the docks, or you had to struggle through the bushes to find your way out. Liliana seemed to have taken the wrong turn. Then she heard voices, a male one and a female. She suddenly got very curious, more so than she probably ought to. She came closer to see what was going on.

When she saw it was the guy she had seen earlier she startled and rustled some leaves. To her horror the boy whipped his head around to look at her. It took her a moment to get it together and act casual about it.

"You.. you're the one from that night… right?" she asked it as a question because she wasn't entirely sure. Well she was 99% sure. She wouldn't forget that night quite so quickly.

"Yeah." That was all he said. A yeah. Liliana concluded he must be a man of few words. Well boy, he wasn't quite a man yet. She noticed that she was still creeping in the bushes, so she quickly walked up to them, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. To take the attention off of her, and probably also because she was feeling quite embarrassed, she turned asked another question.

"So, what is up with this?" Lili stared at the boy and then the girl, and the boy again. She wasn't really interested in the girl. More so in the boy. Not just the fact that she had seen him that night. Well that was mostly it, but there also was the little detail that he was quite cute in a foreign kind of way. She found herself fumbling with her dark hair, and stopped immediately.

"Dumbass over here thinks I took her wild mareep," he rolled her eyes at her. Liliana couldn't stop herself from thinking he seemed to be antagonizing her also, but she didn't voice this thought. "Right… I'm Sahib by the way." Sahib. She knew he was foreign! A bit Indian by the looks of it.

"Liliana," she replied with her own name. "And if it's wild… Then how come it is hers?" He opened his mouth to say something, but a malicious grin spread across her mouth. "Did she pee on it or something? To mark her territory? Write her name on its head?" She glared at the girl when she stuck her tongue out. Real mature.

"I sure as hell hope not!" He replied with a slight revolted look on his face. "In any case, she wants a battle. Quite frankly, I'm not going to give her a double battle. But I doubt she'll let me pass."

"Well, you know, we could always team up?" Liliana suggested inconspicuously.

"Yeah do that you ball-les freak!" What the hell was wrong with this girl?!

"I bet he has more balls than you have boobs," Liliana retorted. Sahib looked to be quite torn over this comment, but in the end he looked a bit pleased with himself. Liliana laughed a bit inside, but she was sure to keep from laughing out loud. It would be rude. Meanwhile the girl had retorted to her comment by sending out both of her Pokémon, an Aipom and a Pachirisu. They both looked quite ready to take her on. Sahib went with the Sentret that was curled on his shoulder, and Liliana asked Djali to take a stand.

"Sentret attack Pachirisu with fury swipes," it was Sahibs opening command. "You can take care of that Aipom." Liliana nodded and turned toward Djali.

"Djali, Aipom's ours, Let's start with a bite attack!" Djali understood and attacked the Aipom, biting it directly in its oversized tail. At the same time Sahib's Sentret attacked the Pachirisu, but it didn't do a whole lot except annoy it some.

The annoying voice of the girl caught in again. "This is just little kid's stuff, Aipom scratch that little kittie off of you-" That's all Liliana paid attention to. The Aipom used scratch on Djali and she had to release it in order to get away from Aipom's attack. From the other side of the field Pachitisu was charging itself and Sentret was trying desperately to get away in time, which almost worked, but he got away with a tiny bit of a jolt.

A very unwelcome giggle made its way into Lili's ears. What the hell is wrong with her? Why is she laughing, those moves weren't that ingenious. But the answer came soon enough. "You two have no idea how to work together do you? Show them some real teamwork! Aipom use tickle on Shinx! Pachitisu follow up with a quick attack on the Shinx as well! Once that one's out of the way we'll go for the Sentret."

Two on one? That's hardly fair! Aipom started tickling Djali, while Sahib was doing nothing against the charging Pachirisu! She thought they were a team and he's just gonna stand there and wait?! "Djali, use charge to get it off! Then counter the squirrel with a tackle!" Djali successfully used a charge attack, the Aipom had to let go or it would be badly shocked. After that she leaped up and charged at Pachirisu. Liliana gasped when the Pokémon leaped up and revealed another pursuer right behind her… Sahib's Sentret.

Djali crashed into the Sentret. This made Liliana so mad. First he doesn't do anything and then, when she did have it covered, he acts all wrong! "What did you go and do that for?! I had it all under control, didn't you see? You shouldn't have interefered!" She knew she shouldn't be so harsh, he was trying to help. But a lot of good that did.

"It's called a double[.i] battle," his tone wasn't helping her irritation. "So pardon me for attempting to help you. I'm getting tired of this, Sentret finish Pachirisu with a quick attack." Sentret sped forward toward the Pachirisu, but just before he could hit Aipom knocked him away with its large tail. Liliana met his gaze, first she looked at him with amusement, buthen she understood what had to be done.

"Oh fine! How about we work together this time?" She still snapped, just because. "Djali use bite on the Aipom to hold it still!" She met the other girl's gaze. She was still looking very amused, but she hadn't figured out the plan yet. Liliana smiled at her with all the venom she could muster as Djali jumped at Aipom, biting his tail and standing on top of him to hold him still. Now the realization dawned across the girl's face. Liliana's smile only got wider.

Sahib understood and told his Sentret to use Quick Attack on the Aipom. The impact was so great that Djali had to let go of the tail quickly before his jaw was launched away with the monkey. It hit the ground painfully and failed to get up. One down.

From that point on things went a lot more smoothly. They had the other Pokémon down in no time now they had figured out how to work as a team. Basically Djali held the Pokémon while Sentret bashed against it. Finally this partnership seemed to go well. In the end the girl started to cry and stomped away from them.

"Bet she's not giggling those eyes out now," Liliana muttered with a smile while she recalled Djali. She definitely needed a rest now. She hadn't meant for Sahib to hear her but he did. He looked at her for a brief second before replying. "Yeah, I suppose not." He really wasn't very talkative out of battle. "Well.. I suppose… I'd best be.. uh.. going." Liliana couldn't help but think that was a pretty lame way of trying to get away from her. She laughed.

"Well, Sahib, we'll most likely see each other again anyway, so I guess I'll see you there," she stated, while walking away with a wave. That was definitely an interesting day. And it had kept her mind off of certain things. Maybe it had been a coincidence that she had been there that night, and with the trainers on her first day. Wrong place, wrong time? Same as with Sahib. It took approximately the same to get from New Bark to Violet. A coincidence, that's what it was.

Chapter7 Part1

"Well, I honestly can't say much about the previous happenings… But I have spoken with the council and they feel that the incident may have just been a scare and they are reopening the gyms" Elm said looking over each of their faces.. It had been a few days since Falkners death and the collapse of Sprout Tower. The kids had since then helped clear the rubble and build a monument to Falkner.

"I am glad to see all of you are okay, it is truly remarkable, they were able to take down Falkner but none of you, anyways I brought you all together for one important reason… I have received another letter from my close friend and colleague who I thought had been captured on Mt. Silver." Elm continued still looking intently at each of the new trainers. "He is keeping a close eye on Johto now.. and if anything should happen again then we will be initiating a new plan, one that I believe, and he believes will help Johto and.. The world.. As for what to do now I say you put all of this behind you and continue your journey I mean your no good to anyone just sitting around instead of getting stronger right? I have the utmost faith in you." Elm was holding something back, Cairne knew it but he kept his mouth shut. Gage told Cairne it was the best thing he could do.

The meeting was dismissed and Cairne decided to check on the ruins of Sprout Tower just for one last glance before continuing on to Route 32. The monument there stood tall and proud. It depicted Falkner in what Cairne imagined must have been his prime, on his arm rested a single Pidgey, standing tall with pride. Cairne noticed in the corner of his eye there was a man about his age franticaly writing an a journal while an odd Pokemon was wrapped around his back.

Slakoth
The boy turned and stared at Cairne for a second placing his notebook back into his backpack. "Is that a pokedex you have there?" The boy said with a nuetral expression on his face.

"Yes actually it is... Why do you ask?" Cairne said expressing an equal amount of expression towards the man with the long black hair and the Cubone skull and crossbones on his shirt.

"No particular reason, those are soem nice Pokemonyou have there, are they any good at battling?" The boy said his expression changing to one that was a little more friendly.

"Yes actually they are, I won my first badge just the night before Falkner actually passed." Cairne said with pride.

"Wow, I must say that is an impressive feat.. I remember my first badge, good memories... Yeah I got top two in the Pokemon League in my region and decided to start all over taking only Slakoth here with me... Care for a battle?" The boy grinned confidently.

"Course, just one question though... What's your name?" Cairne said inquisitively.

"You can call me Damian... Alright let's get this started, go Swinub!" He yelled tossing out a Pokemon ball. Cairne lifted his Pokedex to the small creature.

Swinub
"A ground type eh? Alright, go baron! Use your Ember attack!" Baron jumped forward and shot balls of fire out at Swinub.

"Swinub use Ice Shard!" Swinub shot small shards of ice into the fiery orbs and the two cancelled each other out.

"Wow that Swinubs really strong!" Cairne said in amazment, the ember should've kept going.

"I know, I've been training him hard since he hatched the other day!" Damian said grinning. Cairnes mouth fell agape, no way that's possible!

"Okay Swinub now lets use Powder Snow!" Swinub shot freizing tiny tiny shards of ice at Baron who took the hit pretty hard. He got back to his knees and let out a loud Nuuum.

"Good recovery Baron! Use tackle!" Baron charged at Swinub and knockedhim backwards into a pile of rubble.

"Swinub you use your Take Down!" Swinub jumped from the pile and then began running at Baron as fast as possible.

"Magnitude!" Cairne yelled and Baron stomped the ground sending large chunks of earth under Swinub to knock it back.

"Endure!" Damian yelled before Swinub hit the ground. "Great! Now use Ice Shard! Keep it strong until hes knocked out!"

"Baron use Ember and dont hold back!" Baron began shooting balls of fire non stop from his mouth. The two attacks collided and the stream of ice and fire went back and forth until one side gave completely and Swinub was sent to the ground knocked out entirely.

"You did great Swinub!" He said returning his Pokemon. "Alright now its time for your first battle Magnemite!" He tossed out his ball and a small silver orb with magnets on it popped out of the ball. Cairne pulled out his Pokedex.
*pokemonelite2000 image removed*
Magnemite
"This should be easy!" Cairne said, he had the clear type advantage. But Damian just laughed.

"Type advantage isnt everything!" He said confidently. "Magnimite use Magnet Bomb!" The small Pokemon buzzed and launched a small silver orb in Barons direction.

"Baron Dodge!" Baron rolled out of the way and began running but the small orb continued chasing nhim until it made contact and exploded. "Damn!" Cairne said in surprize. "Baron use your Magnitude attack!"

"Magnet rise!" Damian yelled just in time for his Pokemon to float higher and avoid an oncomming peice of earth.

"Baron, use Ember and then Tackle!" Baron nodded and shot the flamming balls at Magnemite who tried its best to dodge them but ended up getting nailed and knocked lower. Then Baron jumped up and tackled him to the ground.

"Great finish it with your Magnitude now!" Cairne yelled victory was his!

"Iron Defence Magnemite!" Yelled Damian and his Pokemon went completely stiff. When he was slammed by earth he landed back o the ground and then floated back into the air perfectly fine. "Now Magnemite you use Magnet Bomb again!" Just as the ball began to leave Magnemites body Cairne yelled out a loud command.

"Ember now!" He yelled and Baron shot flames at the bomb which ignited in Magnemites face and knocked him back to the ground unconscious.

"Wow, you're going a lot better than I thought you would but now your going to have to fight in the big leagues!" Damian yelled placing Slakoth on the ground. Cairne couldn't help but laugh.

"Thats your big secret weapon? The thing looks like I could barely move let alone fight! Bring it on!" Cairne laughed and Baron Nuuuuumed.

"Yawn Slakoth!" Damian yelled still confident. His Pokemon just stood there scratched its stomach and yawned releasing a big white cloud that engulfed Baron. When the cloud vanished Baron was just sitting there perfectly fine.

"Umm... Alright Baron... Use Tackle!" Cairne ylled and his Pokemon began running at Slakoth. Something was wrong though, his running became slower and slower until eventually he stopped completely and crashed into the ground asleep. "What the hell?" Cairne said confused.

"Faint Attack!" Damian said and his Pokemon dissapeared into darkness. It reapearred behind Baron and grabbed him by the head slamming him down into the ground. Baron went unconscious and Cairne returned him to his ball.

"Alright Ledyba! It's all on you!" Ledyba stood confident and ready for battle.

"Yawn and then Scratch Slakoth!" Damian said and Cairne could feel dread building up inside of him. The yawn attack connected and Ledyba fell to the ground unconscious. Slakoth rolled over to Ledyba and lifted its claw up in the air.

"Comet Punch!" Cairne yelled praying she would wake up. To his amazement Ledyba had actually woken up and proceded to punch Slakoth right in the face. LEdyba kept up her assault knocking Slakoth backwards.

"But how!" Damian yelled confused.

"It must've been Ledybas Early Bird ability!" Cairne yelled remembering his Pokemons ability."Tackle Ledyba!" He yelled and hsi Pokemon broke its punchong combo to knock Slokoth backwards with a headbutt.

"Slack off!" Damian yelled and his Pokemon closed its eyes and began drifting off.

"Stop him Ledyba! use your Comet Punch again!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon struck Slakoth in the face knocking him far off and onto the ground unconscious. Damian returned his Pokemon and grinned holding out his hand for Cairne to shake.

"Great match man, but I didnt catch your name..." Said Damian pulling out his Notebook.

"I go by Cairne." Cairne said victoriously. Damian pulled out a pen and then on the peice of paper scribbled down in messy hand writing; Remember Cairne and then he underlined it and placed it back into his Pocket.

"Here kid, you could use this more than I could probably." He held out a small package and threw it to him.

Damian walked off towards the Pokemon Center and Cairne unwrapped the parcel. A small note fell out and Cairne read it out loud. Call me if your ever in trouble... And then a number followed. He continued opening up the bag and out came a rock in the shape of a crown Cairne held it up to the sun and smiled... His first rival.

After visiting the Pokemon Center Cairne went out into Route 32 revitalized and ready for action. He strolled out through the grass and began pushing the blades apart with his sneakers. Both Ledyba and Baron were in high spirits, excited about their last victory. Out ahead of him Cairne could hear frantic shuffling through the grass and saw a small brown bunny like Pokemon sitting there and chewing on a blue berry. Cairne looked at Ledyba and nodded, it was time to go into action.

"Ledyba use comet punch!" Cairne yelled jumping up out of hiding. and his Pokemon let a punch go into the bunnys face. He pulled out his Pokedex and aimed it at the bunny.
[PokeCommunity.com] The Johto Leagues Fate

Buneary
The bunny shook its head back and forth swallowed the berry whole. He stood and slammed its ear down on Ledybas head and knocked her to the ground. Ledyba flew back up to the sky and got back into battle stance.

"Ledyba, use Comet Punch again!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon went to slam another fist at Buneary. Buneary curled up into a little ball and took the hit like it was nothing. Buneary unwravelled and pounded Ledyba with its foot.

"Ledyba come on use tackle!" Ledyba jumped forward and slammed into buneary with its head knocking him backwards onto its butt.

Buneary got up and roared with anger. She jumped and slammed down on Ledybas head with her forhead. Ledyba faltered in flight but got back on her feet.

"Come on Comet Punch Ledyba!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon went to slam its closed palm into buneary who began glowing white. Cairne had seen this attack before, it was Endure. "Keep going Ledyba! She can't hold out for very long!" He was right. Buneary took one good punch and rolled back into the grass unconcious. Cairne pulled out a ball but right before he could toss it he was inturrupted.

"Hey hey, you're a trainer right? Please help me!" Cairne turned and saw a man holding about 20 jars of honey. The jars wobbled back and forth as the man tried to hold them steady. Cairne put his ball back into his Pocket and tried to help the man who spilled a jar on the ground.

"Thank you so much but can you do me another solid?" The boy said once he got steady.

"Sure ... What do you need?" Cairne sighed, as he said that he turned and noticed the Buneary he was about to catch ran away.

"Please take one of my Pokemon! I have so many and they wont stop making honey!" Cairne was surprized at what the boy was asking him.

"I can't just... TAKE one of your Pokemon!" Cairne said.

"Okay fine, do you have a bug Pokemon your willing to trade? I'm a bug trainer..." Cairne smiled and looked at his :edyba who was excitedly licking the honey that spilled off the ground.

"Well I do have that Ledyba and I know she likes your honey!" Cairne said smiling. "Ledyba would you mind joining him as his Pokemon and having honey whenever you wanted?" Ledyba looked back and forth between the two trainers and nodded no.

"Then its settled," He pulled out a ball with a sticker of a honeycomb on it and handed it to Cairne. "You take her... And I will take Ledyba!" He said smiling and Cairne handed him Ledybas ball.

"I can't thank you enough!" The boy said as Ledyba hopped up on his shoulder and began walking away.

"No problem. Bye kid, and bye Ledyba!" Ledyba looked back and waved while sitting on one of the jars eating the honey.

When both of them went out of sight Cairne decided to check his new Pokemon. He released it and pulled out his Pokedex.

Combee
Cairne could only smile at the trade, free honey from now on!

Liliana had to admit. Now that Djali was resting in her Poké Ball, travelling was kind of lonely. Okay, she had been a bit of a handful, but also quite amusing. But there was only so much energy the young Shinx had. The day was still beautiful and the area was lovely she had to admit. You could smell the water and the flowers. It was so amazing that you would forget all the troubles of the world.

She decided that they could use some nice time to rest and eat. Lili chose a nice spot and released Nala and Djali. Nala seemed to be quite happy about being out of her Ball and she was running around, sniffing flowers and trees. Liliana couldn't help but wonder if that was because she was a Grass type? Would Djali be fascinated with electricity? that's more a question for a professor, she thought as she threw an apple toward Nala, who caught it in mid-air and chomped happily. She threw one at Djali too, but it landed on her head and rolled a little bit away. Djali seemed to want to fry the apple, but hunger won from the headache, and she ate it anyway.

Liliana herself also bit in a nice red apple. Aaah, how she loved fruit. She let her legs dangle off of a rock and just lay down looking at the sky. That was when suddenly the wind started to act up. Lili knew this wasn't a good sign. She panicked and yelled at her Pokémon, before running around to find a shelter. A tornado was not a good thing, and neither of her Pokémon could protect her during one. She knew she should have gotten a Pidgey after all.

She found a little indent in one of the big rocks that was big enough for the three of them. Leaves were blowing everywhere, the trees seemed to bend with the power of the wind tugging on them. And Liliana sat in the cave, breathing heavily. She didn't like heavy gusts of wind. She wouldn't admit it to anyone, but they scared her immensely. So it wasn't odd that she was panicked and scared out of her mind. Her heart was pounding as she saw the wind pick up from their little shelter. But as soon as it had come, it subsided again. Suddenly there wasn't a gust of wind.

Liliana poked her head out curiously, and very cautiously. Then a voice behind her talked so soft she couldn't hear what it had said. She whipped around, almost falling over in the process, to find a white cloaked man approach her. She reached behind her to touch Nala, who was curiously looking at the man. She was about to tell her to attack the man when he talked.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I just wanted to talk, there's no need of any violence," the man's voice made it sound like he wasn't that old. Not as old as the others she had seen. He seemed to be in his late teens. He also seemed to find her very amusing and himself very witty.

"Every time I seem to see one of you, nothing good happens from it. So excuse me for being paranoid," she snapped at the man, but he only laughed at her. He reached inside his cloak and retrieved a letter. It was very fancy, wrapped in a black bow. Black and white. Liliana glared at him suspiciously, but she took the letter anyway.

"It's too bad though," he chuckled again.

"What? What is too bad?!" Liliana asked angrily. She was sick of all this mysterious business. She was sick of only getting half the answer and cryptic responses.

"Don't worry, you'll find that out in the letter. But I cannot guarantee you to live long enough to read it." He smiled, waiting for her to get the meaning of this. When she did he released his Pokémon, a Spiritomb. Liliana knew from the legends that it was created out of vengeful spirits. They had been bound to the rock, or the keystone, so they couldn't go anywhere. This mean it couldn't move. But it didn't guarantee an easy battle.

"Djali, you seem to be on a roll, go and use bite!" Djali stepped forward eagerly. Another creepy chuckle. "Spiritomb, use faint attack." Djali charged at the Spiritomb, but just as she jumped and was about to bite, Spritomb released a purplish black beam. The grin on its face spread, and it instantly reminded of its trainer. Djali charged again, this time from the back, but the thing turned around (How it did it, Liliana didn't know) and hit it with the same attack. Djali, who had already endured two battles, was significantly weakened.

"Djali use bite again, but this time, feint it! " Djali nodded to tell Liliana that she understood, and charged at the Spiritomb again. This time she came from the side, and the whole stone turned around again to have Spiritomb face Djali. Just as the Pokémon's faint attack was going to hit, Djali dodged it, jumped around the opponent, and hit it from the back. It was strange seeing her hit something so insubstantial, but it was substantial to Djali, because it was in her clutches nw.

"Spiritomb, use shadow sneak." Spiritomb suddenly got rid of Djali by disappearing into the ground. All that was visibly was a dark patch on the ground as it moved behind where Djali was staring confused at the ground, wondering where her opponent went. It came up right behind her and fired a pitch black beam from its eyes. Djali had been badly hit and was unable to continue.

"Come back buddy, you did great," she looked at Nala, who had been watching the battle beside Lili. "Nala, use a Razor Leaf." Long distance attacks were good here. Spiritomb couldn't move other than to turn or use shadow sneak. Nala fired her leaves and they all hit their mark. The Spiritomb, however, disappeared into the ground again.

"Nala, watch out for the shadow!" Nala was looking frantically at the ground, but the shadow had already moved behind her. Nala turned around, but the attack had already been launched. It was a powerful beam, weakening Nala with one blow. They had to finish this thing soon.

"Nala, I want you to keep firing your Razor Leaves at him, it's the only thing that can hit it!" Nala did as she was asked. Every time that the opponent tried to blend into the ground a couple of leaves hit it in the face. That way he couldn't get down and harm Nala, and Nala got her hits in. Good thing that this Spiritomb's health wasn't the best there was, in the end he couldn't withstand it. He couldn't hit her while she kept getting hits in. Spititomb fainted.

The trainer just recalled him and chuckled. He had a grin from ear to ear, and Liliana had no clue why. He left her with the letter, still laughing to himself. It was really freaking her out. But curiosity overwhelmed her and she opened the letter. As she was undid the ribbon, a strange feeling came over her. As soon as she opened the thing she blacked out completely…

Dutchesse: Shinx grew to lvl 17! Shinx wants to learn spark delete a move to make room? And Bayleef gained its lvl last post XD!

Everyone i'm going to try to have a new chapter up tonight, even if everyones not caught up

"Woohoo! Free day!" Miles shouted as he took off into the grass. Lily sighed and dragged her tail as she followed the young cub pokemon. Today, thanks to their trainer, they were free to do whatever they wanted for a few hours. And of course, Miles shouted out for adventure before she could think of anything.

Miles stopped and turned to look back at Lily. He gave her a smile and walked back over to her.

"Come on, we don't have all day, ya know." He moved behind her and gave her a small push. "We don't have a lot of time before we have to come back, so let's make the most out of it." Lily turned to him and frowned. "And what if we're attacked by some trainer and they try to catch us?" Miles thought for a moment.

"Well, they won't be able to catch us since we already belong to Kenny. Plus if we happen to battle their pokemon then we'll get a bit stronger!" Lily lowered her head in defeat. While she was the 'leader' among the pokemon in Kenny's team, she couldn't seem to have much success with controlling Miles.

"Ok, but we just can't run off. We need a plan first." She smiled knowing that she had won there. It was just one of the ways of calming the Shinx down that she had discovered. Once again she waited for his answer.

"Well, the point of adventuring is just to go. But, seeing as though this place is unfamiliar, we just make sure that the lake is in view at all times." Lily blinked. It wasn't exactly a plan, but at least it would keep them from getting lost and scaring Kenny.

"Alright, but just for a while. I really want to take a swim before Kenny comes back to get us." The shinx nodded and ran off with Lily not far behind.

They didn't go far when they ran into a herd of Mareep. They seemed peaceful, as most Mareep are, and even seemed to welcome the two unfamiliar pokemon. Miles didn't waste time talking to a few while Lily slowly approached the electric type pokemon. She knew that she could easily avoid the bolts, Poliwags were speedily little buggers after all, but that didn't mean that she wanted to get close.

She instead chose to hang out near the edge and talk to the few Mareep that hung around that area. It was the usually conversation that pokemon had and Lily soon learned that a few of their fellow Mareep had recently been caught by other pokemon.

"I'm sorry to hear that." The Mareep shook his head. As he did sparks began to crackle along his wool.

"No need to apologize, it's not your fault and to tell the truth we're not sad at all." He looked over at the lake, not far in the distance. "In fact, many of us are jealous. Now they get to go out and adventure beyond this place, while the rest of us just sit here and wait for our turn."

Lily blinked. In truth she didn't know what it was like to be a wild pokemon. She had been with Prof. Elm since she had hatched from her egg a while back. She could take care of herself that much she knew, but she had never experienced it.

"Don't worry," She started with a smile. "You'll get your chance one day." He smiled and thanked Lily for her words. She was about to continue on with the conversation when she heard Miles call out her name. She glanced over to see him rushing over.

"Something wrong, Miles?" The Shinx stopped for a second to catch his breath. "There's…a…problem." He took deep breaths as if he had been running from a long distance. "You see…this Sunkern…has been kid…napped!" Lily's eyes widen as did the Mareep.

"Don't tell me, it was taken by a Buneary and Lotad, right?" Lily glanced over the Mareep. "You know something about this?" He nodded.

"A while ago our herd came across a little Sunkern being bullied by a Buneary and Lotad. They'd toss her back and forth and call her weak and worthless. Our Leader rallied us up to stop them and we were able to scare the two away. Ever since then, she's been stay with us." He looked at the ground. "But every now and then she would disappear and come back beat up. We believe she's trying to prove to those two that she's not weak and worthless as they say. But when it's two against one, there's not much she can do." He looked to Lily and Miles.

"I know it isn't your concern, but would you please go get her back? Our leader would be really distraught if he found out about this."

"Well…"

"Of course! We'll have her back here before you know it!" Mile piped up before Lily could finish her sentence. She glared at him only to get a laugh back. He gave Lily a nudge and she smiled and nodded in agreement. The Mareep's eyes glowed brightly. "Thank you!"

"Ok, Miles. Since you've seen them you lead the way." Without another word Miles took off, with Lily right behind him. She still wasn't use to running on the ground and as such she would fall and Miles would stop and laugh until she was back on her feet. Then he continued on, making sure to have a little distance so he didn't end up being smacked.

They journeyed as ways back up the Route, the lake completely out of sight. Lily was worried, but she kept the thought of not knowing the place in the back of her mind. Right now the young Sunkern was their main objective. She was still trying to figure out why a Buneary and Lotad would want to bully a Sunkern for. They were much smaller and weaker than either alone. 'Then again, some just don't need reasons to bully others.' She thought bitterly.

The ground started to rise up a bit and the sink low, making a dip into the ground. At the bottom there were patches of grass, cut short and trampled over. From the top of the dip Miles could see figures move through the shade provided by many trees. It looked like a battle was going on, but he wasn't exactly sure.

Lily stood beside him. "So is this the place?" Miles was quiet for a second and his ears twitched. His eyes were focused on the shadows, studying them intensely. His muscles tensed and bolts of lightning crackled around his body as it lit up. "I'll take that as a yes."

She watched as Miles shot an electric bolt into the shadows. It missed and crashed into the ground causing a flash. That was all they needed. The short flashed allowed them to see a beat up Sunkern with a Buneary and Lotad on both sides. "Al right let's go!" Lily called.

The two rushed down into the shades of the tree, getting a better view. The Lotad and Buneary were a little shaken up from the spark attack. They collected themselves as they saw Lily and Miles consoling the young Sunkern. The Buneary stomped her foot in anger.

"Don't you see we're busy?" She shouted stomping harder. The Lotad snickered. "Yeah, so you'd best leave if you don't want to end up like that sniveling weakling." Lily was shocked at the lack of regret that they had. They had just beaten the Sunkern up, double teamed her, and yet they showed no remorse.

"End up like her? No, no I think you've got this all wrong." Miles murmured as he began to charge again. Lily jumped up from where Sunkern lay and faced off against the two. They glanced at each other and nodded. Miles fired the bolt, striking the ground between Buneary and Lotad. They jumped away becoming separated and Lily and Miles made their move.

Lily dashed at Buneary and began to attack her rapidly with her tail. Buneary glowed and curled up into a ball and then glow silver. With one more slap, Lily sent her slamming into the ground; however Buneary only bounced off and rocketed back towards Lily. As she closed in the uncurled herself and her ear and slammed it into Lily's face knocking her back.

Miles was kept on his toes. Upon being separated Lotad had shrouded the area in a white mist. Thanks to his eyes, Miles could see clearly when he was up close, but Lotad kept his distance. Miles ran through the mist, charged once again and looked around. He didn't stop for a second. Suddenly he was slammed with a barraged of seeds from behind. He growled and sent a bolt in the direction the seeds had come from. There was a small cry and then a beam of green energy lashed out at Miles. He jumped back and countered with a quick spark.

Lily's tail clashed with Buneary's ear and they were both pushed back. As soon as she was on her feet she shot a spiral of water the Buneary. Buneary glowed again as she was slammed by the blast of water. The force from the blast sent her flying and the crashed into a tree.

Miles slumped to the ground, once again being banged up by a barrage of seeds. He groaned as he got back to his feet and charged once more. 'This guy is a pain.' He looked back and forth and then made a mad dash out of the mist. He turned back and glared into the mist, trying to spot Lotad. 'Got to finish this.'

Buneary struggled to get back to her feet and face Lily. "You're tough, I'll give you that, but you should stay down. There's no point in continuing when you can't win." Buneary gave a short chuckle. "You're…confident…but I'm…"

She didn't get the chance to finish her sentence as Lotad came flying out of nowhere and crashed head first into her. Miles walked up to Lily heavily breathing. "That guy…was a lot tougher…than I expected him to be." He panted. He stared ahead at the two, who were out cold. "Let's…get Sunkern and…get out of here."

Sunkern had watched the whole battle and was amazed their power. She was still badly banged up, but she could still stand and move around. Miles laughed under his breath as she fell when trying to make her way over to them. He strolled over to her and crouched down. "Come on, up you go."

After she was settled on his back they began to journey back to the Mareep herd. "How did you guys become so strong?" Miles glanced over his shoulder and then at Lily as he mused the question. "Well, we'd have to thank our trainer for that one." She frowned.

"You guys have a trainer? But then, why are you guys alone out here?"

"Yeah and he's really friendly and cares for us a lot. He can be tough and a little bit scary at times, but I believe he does it to make us better pokemon." Sunkern thought about the answers she got. She had plenty more to ask, but she decided to keep them to herself.

"Hey, do you know the way back to the lake?" Miles spoke up. They had been walking for a while but neither Lily nor Miles knew where they were going. Sunkern nodded and moved up a bit on Miles back. "Yep, yep." She pointed the left with her leaf. "If you go that way you'll reach the lake and the hill where the Mareep should be."

"Thank you!" She only nodded as they changed directions.

After a while they reached the hill again and were surrounded by Mareep. Miles beamed loving the feeling of the electric ions that were flowing around the herd. It made him feel like he was at home with all the other Shinx on Route 30. Lily, on the other hand felt really out of place. She shivered a bit, wanting nothing more than to be out of the midst of the herd.

In front of them stood a large Mareep. His wool seemed to be fully charged of electricity, his horns a bit larger and curved and his tail constantly glowing. From within his wool a Pichu poked his head out and smiled at the trio.

"Sunkern!" He yelled as he jumped out of the wool and ambushed the seed pokemon. She laughed as the Pichu rubbed his cheeks against her, causing small sparks to tickle her. The Mareep, who Lily presumed to be the leader smiled.

"I must thank you for returning Sunkern. I hope it didn't cause you too much trouble." Lily was still unable to react, being surrounded with all the electricity. Miles noticed and spoke up for her.

"No problem at all. I'm sure those two won't be bothering her anytime soon!" He smiled and looked at the sky. His eyes widen and he looked back at the Mareep Leader. "But anyway, we'd best be on our way. We've been gone for a while and I'm sure it's about time for us to return to out trainer or he might get worried."

He began to push his frozen partner in the direction of the lake. The Pichu started to wave at them as the Mareeps gave a nod and parted so they could leave. Once they were a distance away he turned back to them and called out, "You guys take care!"

Back at the lake, Lily was back to normal. In fact, she was joyful to finally get the chance to swim around in the lake. Shinx stayed at the bay and watched. Lily asked him to join in with her but he complained about being tired from the battle and carrying Sunkern around, though the latter actually not bothering him much. He instead curled up by Kenneth who was dead asleep with his feet still in the lake. Soon, both trainer and pokemon were off in la-la land as always.

A few hours passed and Kenneth woke up with a large yawn. He sat up and pulled his feet out of the water and pulled his socks and shoes back on. He looked over to his left and saw Miles curled up, bruised. Kenneth blinked and shook the pokemon awake with one hand while getting out a potion with another.

"Shinx?" The young cub spoke. He slowly got to his feet and shook his head as Kenneth sprayed him with the potion. "Looks like you got into a little trouble, but don't worry you'll be feeling better in no time." A squirt of water caused the boy to jump and he saw Lily climb out of the water. "Poli!" He smiled.

"Well it looks like you're okay." He rubbed her head. "Whelp, I think it's been about 3 hours, if not more," he said looking at the sun. "Let's go look for another teammate!" He exclaimed grabbing his pokedex to check the pokemon in the Route. As he did he felt something nudge his foot and he looked down. At his feet was a Sunkern. Miles and Lily seemed to converse with it. Kenneth just stood there confused at what was happening.

"Umm…you want to come with us?" The Sunkern jumped, still pushing against his leg. He took a pokeball from his waist and bent down and tapped the seed pokemon with the ball. Sunkern was sucked in as the ball dropped to the ground and wobbled…

(Got a bit lazy here and there, but I just couldn't think of anything.)

Friend, or Foe?

You slowly start to awake, and as you open your eyes you find you cannot see anything, and you cannot move your arms or legs. You hear a faint voice from far away, coming nearer and nearer. You scream for someone to help you, and as you scream you hear others screaming around you for help.. You start to wonder what is going on... Then footsteps seem to be getting closer to you and then your blindfold is removed, as you frantically look around you notice you are in some kind of cave, with many markings and unknown lettering... your arms and legs have been tied together and your pokeballs have been put in front of you, just sitting there... You also see the letter the cloaked trainer gave you laying on your lap, it is opened and unfolded.. you begin to read it, but all it seems to say is "End of the line".. Another thing you notice is that the other people in the room who were screaming for help also.... Are the others from Elms lab... A bad feeling comes over you, as every time you are all together something seems to happen. You try to break free and get to your pokeballs, but its no use whoever tied you together did not want you breaking free. As you sit there feeling lost in your thoughts, a cloaked trainer in black appears in the middle of all of you... He is the same man that murderd Falkner... He then begins to talk.

"Look at all of you, so helpless its hilarous.. Part of me just wants to let you go and see how far you would make it without your pokemon... But instead I think it would be better if you really feel how inferior your power is compared to ours.." The man says with an evil laugh As a cloaked trainer in white appears behind each of you and unties you allowing you to scurry towards your pokeballs..

You then let out all of your pokemon while facing the cloaked trainer who freed you.. He just smiles, somethings not right this time... These trainers seem to conifident.. They then each realease a pokemon to battle all of yours..

After your loss the trainers return there pokemon, and then the black cloaked trainer makes his way forward once again.. Somehow this reminds you alot like the night Falkner died, and you begin to look around at your fellow trainers and you somehow feel sad for each of them, and wish there was a way out of this...

"Ohhh that was quite entertaining hahaha, have you not realized yet, this whole time I have been toying with you!!" He says smartly, as he pauses then begins again...

"This time though.. is much different.. your getting stronger everyday and surely we can't have that, I thought after the Falkner death they would shut the gyms down and you would all be forced to stop... But no.. oh well just means we had to handle this matter a different way.." He says as he pulls a pokeball out from his cloak and realeases a Skarmory...

"Goodbye! Haha" he laughs merrily as his Skarmory cocks itself back getting ready to fly around deleivring the final blow to each of you... As it takes off another pokemon jumps in it's path and stops it dead... It's an Infernape! You start to wonder whats going on... as a trainer walks up behind it..

"All you go now!!" The unknown man shouts as he seems to be unaffected by the evil in this room.. its as if he has faced much worse than this.... this man stands at about 5'5 but he is built very well in an athletic sense.. He seems to be about mid to end 60's but is in great shape for his age... You can't really make much more out about him but he looks back to you again.. "All of you now get out of here!" He says pointing down a tunnel that must lead out of here.. You all take off as you look back the man realeases a Luxray and a Blastoise, as the black cloaked trainer approaches him...

"Well well, it seems I have an unepxected guest.. and a familiar one at that.. Grecko" He says as you can barley make that out running further away until you finally see an exit...

Finally when you all have made your way out, you begin to look around as if to thank your lucky stars this Grecko guy showed up... But so far you have learned to trust nobody and you begin to wonder if this man has other intentions by saving you...

(END YOUR POST OUTSIDE THE RUINS OF ALPH!)

The darkness suited Damion, cold and lifeless. Much like himself, the boy was staring into a dark abyss. He was left there, with his thoughts...alone. He was cold, shivering even, he had no idea what has happened.

"ugh..." Damion groaned as the world around him turned a fuzzy gray, his vison soon focusing. But to his surprise, he still saw nothing. He noticed he was wearing a blind fold and quickly moved his hand to unfold it, but to no avail.

"What's this?!" Tai was shocked, he couldn't move his hand and feet. He struggled, turning his hands into fists and pulling as hard as he could. He could feel the warm blood from his wrists trickle down.

"Help!"

"Help me!"

"What's going on?!"

Damion heard several other voices, recognizing them right away. The other Pokedex Holders,

"It's pointless to scream." Damion coldly stated. He soo heard loud steps on a hard floor, the steps stopped as the world around him was revealed. The blindfold was removed, his world coming into focus.

He seemed to be in a chamber of some sort, the walls a dim brown. The room was bathed in a dim orange light, the wall surrounded by mysterious etchings of foreign letters. Several torches were dotted across the room as well.

He looked at himself, he was laying down on a large tablet that he layed on, similar to a torture table. Dark brown ropes were tightly bonded to his wrists and ankles, the boy quickly moved his hands. His wrists and ankles were cut up, small amounts of blood on the ropes.

The boy looked up to see three pokeballs on a small table in front of him, the faces of concerned Pokemon looking back at the trainer. On the table was an open letter, Tai squinted his eyes to try and read it.

"End of the line..." Damion's eyes widened as he read the message, he clenched his teeth and looked up at the several other Dex Holders, screaming. Damion tried desperately to try and release himself from his ropey bonds, but to no avail.

After a few moments of waiting, a dark mist surrounded the area. A deep chill ran down the boy's spine, his heart pounding. The mist soon concentrated in the center of the room, the mist materializing into a tall man with pale skin. The man's hair was a light, pale color as well.

'It's...HIM! The man who murdered Falkner!' Damion clenched his teeth and tried even harder to release himself from the ropes. The man chuckled,

"I find it funny, how it was soo easy to capture you all!" The man continued to laugh, "I mean, you've been giving us all this trouble, and in under ten minutes...we capture you! I kind of want to just amuse myself and see how far you can make it without pokemon." The man chuckled, his smile rapidly faded afterwards.

"But I would MUCH prefer to show you all how much our power exeeds over yours." The man chuckled, Damion was infuriated and gasped as his hands and feet were freed. He fell to his knees and looked back, a tall man with a bright white cloak smirked evily and glared at the boy. One blood red eye stared at Damion,

'He seems confident. Heh, that will be his down fall.' Damion thought to himself as he quickly reached for his Pokeballs. Taro, Hoot, and Sprink rapidly appeared, several clouds of smoke hovered around their feet.

The man chuckled as he readied himself for battle, Damion did likewise. His pokemon in battle stances.

[PokeCommunity.com] The Johto Leagues Fate

ARCANINE:
LEVEL 36

TYPE 1/FIRE
TYPE 2/NONE
ATTACKS:
FIRE FANG

THUNDER FANG
ODOR SLEUTH
ROAR
The pokeball exploded in a swirl of fire. The graceful, lion-like pokemon stepped forth from the flames, winged feet tensing for action. His black eyes were set and serious. The heat from his body radiated in waves, the rock floor around him started to heat up.

"Arcanine, Thunderfang."

"Taro! Bite!!"

They sprang into action, the wolf and the tiny dragon. While Arcanine had the size advantage, Taro was smaller and much more agile. He wove in-between Arcanine's legs as he sped around in mid-air, searching for an opening to attack while moving at high speed. He soon lost sight of him in the whirl of snow that seemed to appear from nowhere, flakes of it fell and melted upon contact with their heat auras.

Every breath could be seen, white and puffy and barely existent. He followed his scent, he followed the traces of his leg fire.

Arcanine seemed to tauntingly growl at Taro, who in turn quickly snareld back.

He growled, catching a glimpse of her tails before she disappeared again. Arcanine snarled again and closed his jaw to catch the pokemon, electrical sparks whizzing out. Taro chuckled as he plunged his own teeth into the fur of the fire pokemon.

Soon after, Taro quickly retreated into the blizzard where nothing could be seen.

He was there in a few bounds, but what he saw behind the snow stopped him in his tracks. There was a giant puddle in the place where Hoot was supposed to be, and out from it stared a pair of ruby red, hypnotizing eyes.

He was entranced, the eyes pulled him in, further, and further.

"Arcanine! Snap out of it!!" The man shouted, and the wolf pulled his head from the puddle's gaze.

He spotted Hoot then, on the other side of the battle field.

"Thunderfang!!!" His trainer called, and Arcanine disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"Hoot! Hypnosis!!"

A beam of glowing azure light condensed itself into a ring, hovering a few feet in empty, cold space. It floated, flowing backward and forth before Arcanine's vision. It hypnotized worse than any pair of red eyes.

His eyesight became blurry as the ray made contact with his forehead. He swayed in circles, the lights pulsing gently with different radical colors, lines wavering back and forth like sonic sound…until the canine fell asleep.

He could see the sounds as three pokemon brought their Tackle, Rock Slide, and Thundershock attacks to beat him over the head. His skull cracked downward with the impact, and he was unaware of the entire situation.

"NOW, ARCANINE! Fire Fang!!!"

"Hoot! Hypnosis!!!!"

Damion clenched his jaw and wished he could cut out his own tongue. He had just condemned the battle into a loss, and doomed Hoot to faint as well.

He could only watch as Hoot was slammed brutally, thrown against the opposite wall. His head snapped back as the wall refused to crack, and he fell back to earth with a whimper.

Tai quickly recalled his Hoot,

"Rock Slide!!"

"Fire Fang."

The sharp, dagger teeth of the canine blew up in a fiery inferno as they bit downinto the rock skin of Taro. The pokemon screamed in agonizing pain as he fell to the floor with a thud,

"What?! Fire shouldn't be THAT strong against Taro!"

"Silly boy. My pokemon is much better trained than your Larvitar, it hasn't even evolved yet." The man chuckled.

"Sprink! Thundershock!"

"Ha. Fire Fang!"

Damion clenched his teeth, he had doomed yet another pokemon to faint. He watched as Sprink was bitten down upon, fiery embers now spread across her body. He quickly recalled her into her pokeball, Damion falling to his knees.

"I-I lost...." Damion clenched his teeth and shut his eyes.

Ping!

Kenneth smiled upon hearing the small ding, signaling that the capture was successful. He picked up the pokeball and look inside where Sunkern rested. She looked pretty happy.

"Alright, come on out, Lia!" He called as he tossed the ball high into the air. The pokeball popped open and Lia appeared in a red light. She looked around and turned to Kenneth who stood, grinning. She jumped and the boy caught her in his hands. Her eyes were shining.

"Welcome to the team! I would introduce you to Lily and Miles, but it looks like you already know them." He laughed and Lia bounced in his hands.

Kenneth looked back over the lake. The sun was going down a bit, casting a golden glow on the lake. The water sparkled in the shine, only making the lake much more beautiful than it already was. Even the Magikarp that flopped uncoordinated out of the water couldn't ruin the view. Actually they did, but not much.

The teen sighed as he slung his backpack over his shoulder. He looked at his pokemon and gave them a thumb up. "Well, since it seems that we've got a new member we can head on now. The next town is Azalea, which is right through Union Cave. Though we may stop at the Pokemon Center to rest for the night."

He turned and began to walk off. Lily started after him while Miles waited for Lia to jump onto his back. Once she was on he started after the two catching up in no time.

They walked on the grassy side of the Route, not wanting to interrupt the Fisherman along the pier. Kenneth knew that it wouldn't be long before they reached the pokemon Center. And if the sun was still up he was thinking about going through the cave and just resting whenever he got to Azalea. He was so deep in thought that he didn't notice the wind pick up, that was until it pushed him back.

"Hmm?" He looked up at the sky as the wind started to blow even harder. He grimaced as he looked around. "Not good guys. It looks like a tornado may start." There was a little distress in his voice as he concluded that they couldn't make it to the Pokemon Center in time. He began to look around for shelter as he subconsciously recalled his pokemon, not noticing that he had missed Miles.

"Shinx!" His head snapped toward the call to see that Miles was standing by some bushes surrounding a large boulder. He ran over to him to find a crack in the boulder. It was covered well by the bushes that also hid the entrance to a burrow under the ground, right beneath the crack. The hole was sort of small, probably made by a pokemon but it was still big enough for Kenneth to fit in.

"Thanks Miles!" He said as he recalled the pokemon. He crouched to his hands and knees and crawled into the hole. Once inside he found a much bigger place underground, with enough room to fit him and all of his pokemon. He didn't call them out though, deciding it was safer to keep them inside their balls. He turned back to the mouth of the burrow and waited.

Outside the wind began to pick up more. It was blowing so wildly that the bushes would have taken flight had they not been rooted to the ground. Being too curious he peeked through the bushes.

"Moooo!" He blinked as a Miltank flew by caught in the wind. Not believing his eyes and ears he blinked again after rubbing his eyes.

"Snorlaaaaaxxxx" Kenneth couldn't believe his eyes. There was a Snorlax riding the wind. He stared at the sight for a moment and rubbed his eyes. When he opened them, the wind was still blowing but there was nothing out of the ordinary. That was until he saw a Groudon fly by, caught in the wind. He threw his face into his hand.

"Oh now that's just ridiculous."

Time passed and the wind calmed down. Once it returned to nothing but a gentle breeze Kenneth climbed out of the hole under the boulder and stretched. He looked around to see that everything was alright and then dusted himself off. He yawned and began to walk again.

"……………"

Kenneth twitched and rushed to grab one of his pokeballs as he turned to face the voice. Behind him stood a cloaked trainer, wagging his finger as he shook his head.

"Tsk tsk tsk, no need to be so tense. I'm only here to talk, so you can put that pokeball of your away." He said in a mocking voice. Kenneth scrunched his face in anger.

"I never know when it comes to your kind!" He spat. "Why are you here anyway!? Haven't you guys done enough?" The man laughed as he reached inside his cloak and pulled out a letter neatly wrapped with a black bow. He flicked his wrist to throw the letter at Kenneth and reached into his cloak again.

Kenneth caught the letter and looked at it. He didn't know whether he should open it or not. "It's too bad though…" Kenneth looked up at the man, confused. "What do you mean?" The man smiled from under the hood of his cloak.

"Oh, you'll find out soon enough," He paused for a second and then threw his pokeball into the air, releasing his pokemon. A stone landed on the ground and from it a purple haze formed a vortex. Small green orbs rested on the edge of the vortex circling a green face with a crooked expression. In one eye there were a spiral acting as a pupil for it.

"That is, if you live long enough to read that letter!" Kenneth couldn't help but smirk at the challenge. He threw his pokeball into the air. "Alright then, let's show them what you've got, Lia!" The young Sunkern appeared in a flash of red light. Kenneth kept his smile. 'I know I've only caught her, but she needs some battle experience if she wants to get stronger. Plus, it'll help me get use to her and her attacks.'

"A Sunkern? Haha, that thing won't even leave a scratched. Spiritomb, faint attack."

"Lia, use growth and then mega drain once it's up close." Lia glowed as Spiritomb floated over to her. As soon as it reached her it glanced to the left as though it was looking as something. Curious, Lia followed its eyes and no sooner than she took a glance to the left she was knocked back.

She bounced on the ground and once she was up a green beam shot from her leaf and wrapped around the Spiritomb. The beam then turned red as it drained Spiritomb of some of its health and returned to Lia. She glowed white and a few of her injuries were healed. Spiritomb didn't look hurt.

"Ha-ha, Shadow sneak!" The ghost pokemon disappeared into the ground leaving nothing but a shadow. The shadow zoomed around on the ground and headed towards Lia. Then it popped up from the ground and slammed into Lia. Kenneth grimaced and recalled the seed pokemon.

"Giving up?"

"No way! Let's go Miles!" He yelled as Miles jumped from his pokeball and faced off against Spiritomb. "Heh, Spiritomb use faint attack!" The ghost glided over to the Shinx smoothly.

"Stop 'em with leer, then use spark!" Miles barked as he made eye contact with the Spiritomb who stopped. The purple haze body waver a bit as Miles rushed with electricity running through his body. He tackled the ghost, sending the electricity into the ghost shocking it.

"Hmm, shadow sneak." The ghost rebounded and dropped back into the ground. The shadow zoomed around on the ground, closing in on Miles. The young cub kept a close eye on the black spot, dancing around on the ground as it neared him. The shadow neared Miles, stopped, and circled around speeding up as he went. Miles was left with nowhere to go.

"Now!" Spiritomb jumped from the ground and crashed into Miles side. "Again!" As soon as it had appeared from the ground it dropped back into it and zoomed over to Miles who was just getting back to his feet. It popped out of the ground again and knocked him over.

"Now, faint attack!" Kenneth bit his lip as he looked around for something to help Miles out. He spotted the water and an evil smirked crept onto his face.

"Miles jump into the lake!" Miles stood and looked at Kenneth for a second. He gave a small bark in reply as he ran to the lake with Spiritomb following. He jumped into a shallow part of the lake and turned to face Spiritomb, waiting for the next order.

"Now jump out and use charge!" Miles did as he was commanded and jumped out of the lake as he gathered electricity in his body. Thanks to his fur being drenched in water the effect was much greater making him supercharged. Rather large bolts crackled around his body as he stared at Spiritomb with a leer. The ghost backed away. "Shadow sneak!"

"Now hit 'em with a supercharged spark before he gets into the ground!" Miles barked and rushed Spiritomb just as it was sinking into the ground. Before it was completely underground Miles collided with what was left of it, sending a great shock into it. It floated back to the surface, dazed and greatly damaged.

"Hypnosis!" Kenneth's eyes widen as the man called out an attack that he was familiar with. Recovering from its daze it sent hypnotic waves at Miles making him drowsy. He walked forward a bit and then stumbled on his own legs and feel to the ground, fast asleep. "Now dream eater!"

"Return!" The green orbs on Spiritomb glowed red and just as Miles was starting to glow red he was sucked back into his ball.

"Way to go seems like you've learned how to play with the grownups." The man said, amused. "But it's…"

"Water gun!" A blast of water collided with the ghost's face and it cried out disappearing back into the stone below it. The man stood surprised as Kenneth thumbed his nose, smirking.

"And you've got some more to learn. While you spent your time talking, I had time to release Lily and take out your Spiritomb. One water gun was all that was needed." He chuckled. The man laughed as he recalled the ghost. His laughter eventually got louder and he disappeared in thin air, his laugh echoing all around.

Kenneth blinked and stared at the spot where the man once stood. He didn't understand why the man was laughing even though he had lost. In fact it seemed as if he didn't even care. Trying to push the thought away Kenneth looked at the letter in his hand and started to open it.

As he unwrapped the black bow he started to feel lightheaded and dizzy. There was a weird sensation on the back of his head and neck and his vision started to become blurry and shake as he continued to open the letter. Finally he…

@Charizard mang- CONGRATULATIONS, all your Pokemon were beaten mercilessly by a mere pawn..... XD.... Larviatar hit 21, Hoohoot hit 18, and Mareep hit 15.....

Sahib yawned and stretched. During the middle of the day, Sentret had suddenly evolved into a rather strong looking Furret. Sahib smiled a bit and glanced at the sleeping Pokémon curled up against his leg. Quilava was asleep on his lap. Mareep was off resting against a different tree, but Sahib decided he'd just let Mareep get comfortable on his own time. Sahib didn't want to put an unnecessary strain on his newest addition to his Pokémon team.

Sahib had begun to get further along the route, but he had just stopped for a short break about five minutes ago. His Pokémon had already fallen fast asleep; they were rather tired from the events of the day. I wonder…Sahib thought in a rather musing way, if what happened was just a coincidence. Like…the wrong place at the wrong time sort of thing. He tapped his head against the tree lightly and then shook it slowly. It must have been, what else would it be? He wondered to himself. With a soft sigh, Sahib carefully poked Furret and Quilava awake. They opened their eyes and looked up at him blearily as though they were still asleep.

"We need to keep going," Sahib declared to them. "So…back in your Pokeballs then," he murmured. Sahib brought out their Pokeballs and returned them, deciding against keeping one of them outside. He stuffed his hands in his pockets once he had shouldered his backpack. Sahib felt a light tremor crawl up his spine; it almost felt as though something evil was coming. Great, now I'm turning paranoid, Sahib thought dryly. He rolled his eyes and started to walk towards the next town once more.

During his walking, Sahib noticed after a while that the wind was slowly picking up. Soon it seemed as if the winds were gusting all about him in a steady gale. Sahib shivered as he felt the hair on his arms stand up. He felt…funny, in the least. Soon the wind began to pick up even more, and that's when he decided to go get into a shelter. Sahib jogged towards a group of bushes that looked as though they were in front of a cave. He slipped inside the large cave, finding that the bushes only covered part of it while the trees covered the top half. Sahib silently watched the wind pick up for a few more moments, before it stopped abruptly.

A faint noise behind him caused Sahib to whip around and look behind him. There was a faint voice behind him. Suddenly a trainer cloaked in white walked up towards him. Sahib grabbed Mareep's Pokeball before he even knew what happened. The man chuckled darkly and then clucked his tongue.

"I just wanted to talk, there's no need to get your Pokeball ready," the man said softly.

"Good for you," Sahib snarled back. His fist clenched tighter on Mareep's Pokeball. "Now what do you want?" he growled lowly. Sahib wasn't one for yelling—he thought that about ninety-nine percent of the time it was rather unnecessary.

The man held up a finger in a 'wait a moment' gesture. He produced something from his cloak. Sahib squinted his eyes and found it appeared to be a letter of sorts. The letter was wrapped in a neat and tiny black bow. Sahib looked up at the cloaked man's hooded face. He handed it over to Sahib, who snatched it away and looked at it. He wasn't quite sure whether to open it up or not. Suddenly the man slowly began to speak once more.

"It's too bad though," he commented.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Sahib shot back at him.

"Oh…you'll find out when you read that letter. Well, that is…if you live that long," he finished menacingly.

Suddenly he released his own Pokémon. Sahib stared at the Pokémon that he had never seen before—which was rather rare for him. His parents had many Pokémon, so that's why he was familiar with most of them. Sahib grabbed his Pokedex and read the information on Spiritomb. He tossed Mareep's Pokeball. The fluffy Pokémon came out in a bright flash of white light. Sahib knew he was taking a rather dangerous chance with this Pokémon, but he didn't really mind too much. Sahib had faith in the little Mareep. That and the fact that he wanted to see what he could do.

"Let's go Mareep!" Sahib called to his newest Pokémon. Mareep looked about in confusion, unsure of what exactly it should be doing. "Start off with a thundershock!" Sahib said to his Pokémon, hoping against all odds that his Mareep could handle this battle.

Mareep let out a static looking thundershock. Sahib watched as the attack ripped across the floor of the cave and hit the Spiritomb. Sahib smirked slightly but said nothing as he watched. The attack hit Spiritomb directly, but soon Sahib's smirk fell off his face. Spiritomb barely looked fazed, even if it was just a little bit. The man in the white cloak chuckled darkly once more. He murmured something that Sahib didn't quite catch, but then suddenly Spiritomb was drawing closer to Mareep. Mareep cocked his head to the side, but then suddenly Spiritomb hit it in a faint attack. Darn it! Sahib thought, clenching his teeth. He knew that move never missed.

"Mareep keep using…" Sahib paused and trailed off as he looked at Spiritomb. It appeared to be caught in a frozen shudder. Little bits of electricity were visible around its body. "Use growl as much as you can! Then follow with thundershock!" Sahib called. He recognized the paralyzed look of the Spiritomb. Sahib knew that this just might be the deciding factor in the battle as well.

"Spiritomb use hypnosis on Mareep," the man called. He crossed his arms as he watched.

Spiritomb simply shuddered and heaved, but couldn't move. Mareep marched right up to it and growled menacingly as it could. After a few moments of this (and the trainer still trying to get his Spiritomb to move) Mareep charged her horns. It let out the electricity, and the attack slammed into the Spiritomb again. Sahib smirked as the Spiritomb winced a little this time. Mareep was panting, something that Sahib hadn't exactly expected to happen quite so early.

"Oh bloody…" the man growled, pulling something out of his jacket. He sprayed it on Spiritomb, and suddenly the Pokémon could move again. Sahib growled through his teeth. "You haven't got this won so easily."

"Mareep, keep it up with thundershock!" Sahib called, hoping against all odds that it would tire out Spiritomb instead of Mareep.

"Enough of these petty games. Use shadow sneak."

Spiritomb suddenly became too fast for Mareep. It moved along the shadows until it finally appeared before Mareep. It slammed against Mareep, knocking the Pokémon backwards. Mareep cried out as it fell.

"Finish it off with another shadow sneak."

Before anything else could happen, Sahib recalled his poor Mareep. Maybe I was wrong, he thought. Sahib shook his head, and then brought out Quilava. Quilava growled angrily at the Spiritomb, ready for a fight.

"Burn it to the ground!" Sahib shouted. "Quilava, give it a full throttle ember!" he called.

Quilava didn't need to be told twice. It unleashed a powerful jet of fire. The flames slammed into Spiritomb, leaving it unable to get away in the first moments of attack. Quilava was fast, and that's exactly what Sahib wanted to happen. The man ordered a shadow sneak. Sahib ordered a quick attack even though he knew it would do no damage. This allowed Quilava to move out of the way and unleash another ember on Spiritomb.

"Hypnosis!"

Spiritomb got the attack in this time. It hit Quilava, and Quilava was suddenly asleep. Sahib clenched his teeth and fists. He knew Quilava would have to wake up on its own—he had nothing that could cure this. So while Quilava snoozed away, Sahib was frantically trying to wake it up. The guy in white had his Spiritomb use dream eater, so now about half of Quilava's health was sapped while Spiritomb was almost back to full power once more.

"Quilava…" Sahib trailed off, wondering what exactly to say. Finally he shut his mouth, unsure of what to say. He couldn't think of virtually anything that was special enough to wake the Pokémon up. Then again, he thought of something. "He killed Falkner!" Sahib shouted, knowing that it wasn't true. It worked though.

Quilava's red eyes snapped open. It almost seemed as if its eyes were burning with a fiery hatred. The man took a step back, slightly intimidated by Quilava. Quilava growled angrily, the flames on its back shooting straight up and burning brighter than before. It unleashed an immensely powerful looking ember attack. The attack slammed into Spiritomb, knocking the Pokémon backwards even though it was a ghost type. Spiritomb winced and shuddered, and Sahib smirked when he saw the rough looking burn etched onto the Pokémon's features.

"Good job, Quilava," Sahib said. "Let's finish this up with another ember!"

"I don't think so. Use shadow sneak Spiritomb!" the man called, pointing towards Quilava.

Quilava panted lightly but managed to produce another nice looking flame. Sahib watched as Spiritomb hid along the shadows and slammed into Quilava before it could even really let the attack go. Quilava hit Spiritomb dead on with the fire, and suddenly it was over. Spiritomb went down, leaving Quilava and Sahib as the victors of the match once more. The man recalled his Pokémon, but he was laughing hysterically. Suddenly he left, leaving Sahib confused.

I don't really think I'll be winning too many more matches out of sheer luck, Sahib thought. He looked down at the letter and carefully inspected it. Then he shrugged and pulled at the black ribbon, but suddenly he began to feel rather dizzy. Sahib groaned and leaned against the cave wall for support. Black spots appeared before his eyes. He felt a sharp pain on the back of his head, and then he knew no more.

@Fenris- Quilava hit 19, Mareep hit level 13 (She has a severe need for some training XD) Loved the wrong place wrong time idea... But it cant all be bad.. Maybe they like being fighting slaves XD

It had been a few day's after Falkner's death, came as a shock to you, along with the rest of Violet City, not to mention the destruction of Sprout Tower, she wasn't actually there when it happened, but just looking at the destroyed tower now, sent a wave of confusion and excitement running through her, confusion because she wondered what exactly had destroyed the tower, excitement because she'd have something to brag about to her brothers, I mean they had normal little kid journeys and here she is standing in the middle of a big mystery case that might get out of hand!

Isn't it awesome!?

Okay, perhaps crazy to the normal person, but Kaitlyn's anything but normal, I mean she dresses like a guy, has inhumane bouts of strength, not known to most woman and she likes punching people in the stomach, Kaitlyn Manson is anything and everything but normal, she also has anger issues that seriously need to get checked out.

"I'll kill that bastard! Punch him right in the throat!"

Snoopy sweat dropped at his trainer's loud exclamation and Serena sighed, both the Snubbull and Butterfree were used to these kind of exclamations by now, so it didn't faze them as much as it creeped out those around her listening, especially since she had begun jabbing at the air and kicking, exclaiming she was gonna knock some unlucky boy's head clean off his shoulders, it was extremely perplexing to see such a thin and lanky girl, a boy to those less perceptive, though you can't really blame them, she hardly has much to show for it, say such things like that, that hadn't seen a girl this violent for a few years now.

It was scary.

"Snubbull. Snub. Snubb."

Snoopy was sitting on her shoulder's while Serena hovered beside her, the Fairy Pokémon was trying to calm the girl down, for she was causing a scene in the middle of Violet City, on her way towards the Pokémon Center. Kaitlyn liked Snoopy, he was a very reliable partner, even though she had just acquired him recently, she had gotten to Johto a little late so she had missed out on all the starters but Professor Elm had recently captured this little guy and gave it to her, before briefly filling her in with what has happened up until the point of Falkner's death, he told her that he was going to contact her later on today and that she'd meet the other trainer's that were on this little mission as well.

A part of her hoped Cairne would be on this mission here in Johto but another part of her didn't really mind it any other way, she was on an adventure, a very dangerous adventure, but she'd survive just like Cairne's grandparents, she'd often listen to their little tales as they drifted back to when they were kids their age, no they were even younger when they had to face the threat of Beo and his underhanded henchmen Tai and the Clan of Darkness.

Just thinking about it was giving her chills of excitement, she couldn't wait to get in on the action, kick ass and take names, for she was Kaitlyn Manson! Pokémon Trainer Extraordinare! Chuckling to herself, Kaitlyn pushed the doors of the Pokémon Center open, only to get pushed slightly aside by a wave of trainer's leaving the Center "Rude" she thought with a frown before entering the rejuvenation center "Oh! Kaitlyn! You have impeccable timing dear!"

Blinking Kaitlyn glanced around until her gaze landed on a tired and weary looking Professor Elm "Professor!" she gasped and Snoopy snapped his chops happily at the professor "Snubbull! Snubb. Snubb!" he gave a smile and a wave before motioning her to follow him, he enters the conference room and has her seated at a long circular table with him at the front, Snoopy on her shoulders while Serena was snuggled safely in her ball, Kaitlyn having recalled her moments before entering the Center.

"Well, Kaitlyn, you kinda missed out on the speech I just gave, that rush of trainers that just exited, was the group" he gave a tired sheepish smile "maybe you can meet them later, but now I'm just gonna give you a somewhat watered down version of what I told them" he took a breathe and exhaled "Firstly I have spoken with the council and they feel that the incident may have just been a scare and they are reopening the gyms" He said glancing at you "Its also truly remarkable, that they were able to take down Falkner but none of the other trainers, anyways I had brought them all together for one important reason… I had received another letter from my close friend and colleague who I thought had been captured on Mt. Silver" He then pauses for a second taking time to take another breath..

"He is keeping a close eye on Johto now.. and if anything should happen again then we will be initiating a new plan, one that I believe, and he believes will help Johto and.. the world.. as for what to do now I told them to ignore this and continue their journeys, I mean they're no good to anyone just sitting around instead of getting stronger right?" Elm sits there saying all of this, but Kaitlyn could he was a bit down about sending herself and the others back out there... and she had a feeling he knew more than he's letting on... But no matter what secrets or lies he is telling, he motions for her to leave and all but shoo's her out the room and Pokémon Center.

"H-Hey wait! I didn't even get a chance to ask him about Cairne!" pouting, Kaitlyn grumbled to herself about missing her chance to gain information before she stalked towards Route 32, glancing momentarily at a newly built statue of the fallen Falkner, it was standing in the next to the remains of the once proud standing and ancient Sprout Tower.

Sighing Kaitlyn shook her head, glancing ahead of her, she caught sight of a familiar black ponytail "Hey! I think that's Cairne!" she exclaimed quickly perking up and running after the rapidly fading figure "Cairne wait up! I said wait dammit!" Kaitlyn was getting annoyed at the fact that the boy refused to stop, its like he was ignoring her or something, forget the fact that he probably couldn't hear her screaming at him.

"Ohh! I'll show that bastard! I'll teach him not to ignore me!"

Snoopy sighed, Kaitlyn really needed to think about things logically before she jumped to conclusions and began getting ready to beat the snot out of someone. The chestnut haired girl fumed and punched a nearby tree on Route 32, completely unaware that there were several Pokemon napping in said tree, it shook violently and several bug Pokémon zoomed out, amongst them was a tiny swarm of angry Beedrill. Kaitlyn shrieked and ran away, with Snoopy hanging tightly onto her shoulder as they dashed through grass and darted around tree's, only managing to loose the persistent bugs when she feel into a shallow pond.

Kaitlyn quickly sat up, spluttering and spitting out water as she did so.

"Piiichu Chu. Chu. Chu. Chu. Chu"

Kaitlyn scowled as she glanced around for the Pokémon who dared to laugh at her. In one of the tree's that surrounded the pond, a small yellow rodent with short and bright yellow fur. It had large ears that are tipped black, and it has additional black markings on its neck and tail. Its tail is short, and bent, bearing some resemblance to the large lightning-bolt tail of it's evolved counterpart Pikachu. It also has pink electrical pouches on its cheeks, reminiscent of Pikachu and Raichu.

The Tiny Mouse Pokemon
It is still inept at retaining electricity. When it is startled, it discharges power accidentally. It gets better at holding power as it grows older.

"Is there something funny squirt!?" Kaitlyn glared at Pichu, who just laughed even harder, clutching at its sides while its tiny body shook from the giggling spasms "Pichu! Pichu!" it banged its paws against the branch it was sitting on while it giggled and Kaitlyn scowled and the giggling Pichu suddenly stopped giggling "Pichu. Pichu Pii" Pichu stared at Kaitlyn, who blinked back in confusion, they stared at one another for several seconds before Pichu pulled down its eye lid and blew a raspberry at her.

"Why that--!" Pichu broke into another fit of giggles and darted down the tree, heading for an open field, with a fuming Kaitlyn on its tail "Get back here!" for several long minutes, Kaitlyn chased the giggling mouse, her anger fading away and she was soon laughing along with the playful Pokémon "Ha. Ha." Kaitlyn eventually found herself lying on her back in the middle of the field staring up at the sky, with the happy Pichu, who seemed to be mimicking Snoopy's movements, the Snubbull was explaining something to the Pichu and then struck a pose, with which Pichu copied, albeit a bit sloppily.

"Snubbull. Snub. Snub!"

"Pichu. Pi. Pichu!"

Kaitlyn laughed at the two "Aww, looks like you've got yourself a little follower Snoopy" she glanced at Pichu, who was mimicking Snoopy's every move, the Snubbull grinned sheepishly and rubbed the back of its head, with Pichu doing the same "Hmm... it could be kinda like Bolt" Kaitlyn looked thoughtfully at the Pichu as she was suddenly reminded of Angela's powerhouse of a Raichu, it maybe getting older but it was no slacker "Hey Pichu, you wanna come with us?"

"Pichu?" Pichu blinked and pointed at itself in disbelief "Yeah, your the only Pichu here... plus you've seemed to take a liking to Snoopy here" Pichu nodded with a wide smile "Pi! Pichu Pi!" Kaitlyn grinned "Alright then!" Kaitlyn stood up and brushed her clothes off, pointing at the baby Pokémon "Pichu! I challenge you!"

"Pi! Pichu!" Pichu nodded determined and got down on all fours, its back arched into a defensive stance "Pichu!" Kaitlyn grinned and pulled Serena's ball from her belt "Go Serena!" the large Butterfly appeared in a shower of sparkles "Freee-eeee!" it flapped its large wings and hovered above Pichu, ready for battle. "Start off with Gust Serena!"

Her Butterfree nodded and flapped her wings, causing a powerful gust of wind to form and blow Pichu away, sweeping the mouse off it's feet and into the air "Pichuuuuu!!" Kaitlyn smirked as she watched the Pichu flail in the air, attempting to grab something to keep it from plummeting to the ground "Now use Confusion!" Serena hummed and its eyes began to glow am eerie blue, Pichu's body had then become encased in that same blue glow, causing it to halt in the air, inches away from the ground, it sighed in relief but soon began to struggle again while it was captive "Now toss it!" Butterfree nodded and flung Pichu to the right, sending it skidding across the field and into a patch of tall and thick grass, it used this as a cover, as it quickly scrambled to its feet to hide.

"You can't hide from us Pichu! Let's blow it out! Gust again Serena!" Serena nodded and flapped her wings once more, this time sending a mini tornado spiraling towards Pichu "Piiichuuu!" it cried out, once again being swept into the air by the harsh winds "Confusion!" Serena nodded and its eyes glowed blue, about to snatch the mouse out of the air again, however instead of like before, Pichu was expecting it and quickly countered with a Thunder Wave, that locked up Serena's joint's, causing her to stiffen "Chuu" Pichu murmured, looking slightly discombobulated after using the electric attack.

"Can't store your energy well yet huh?" Pichu shook its head, quickly recovering from its aftershock, it could store energy pretty well for a wild Pichu, but not as well as its counterparts. While Serena was trying to shake off the stiffness in its joints, Pichu struck again, this time with ThunderShock. Serena cried out as electricity pulsed through its body, while Pichu cried out in slight pain from its own attack, having shocked itself in the process.

"Serena!"

Kaitlyn's call quickly alerted the Butterfree, who was still trying to recover from the ThunderShock "Use Sleep Powder!" the Butterfree nodded and began to flap its wings, to let out the noxious gas that would put Pichu to sleep and end her match, this did not however go as planned, because Serena's joints locked up again causing it to freeze.

"Pichu!"

Pichu took this wonderful turn about of events and tackled Serena out the air, resting on her stomach before using ThunderShock at point blank, this action caused both Pokémon to get shocked, sending them both into a spasm of pain as electricity coursed through their bodies, in the end though, Serena was the one who had come out on top, hovering weakly back in the air to fight, while Pichu lay on the ground in an electric filled daze.

Kaitlyn pulled out a Pokéball and enlarged it "Great job Serena!" she thanked the Butterfree before glancing down at the fallen Pichu "heads up!" she shouted before tossing the ball at Pichu, watching as it was soon sucked into the red and white circular capsule, wobbling back and forth for several long tense moments...

(OOC: Shhh I'm being a Ninja *vanishes* My mom's totally gonna chew me out XD But its worth it.)

@Yashmeister-POOR LITTLE PICHU D:! CONGRATULATIONS! You caught a level 10 male Pichu (SPARX SHALL BE HIS NAME AND THERE IS NO ARGUING ALLOWED!XD)

Sahib groaned and slowly began to open his eyes. Upon doing so, he found that he couldn't see much of anything. His arms and legs also appeared to be chained, and he could only barely move them before he couldn't. Sahib heard a faint voice yet again coming closer and closer. He twitched and fought the impulse to scream for help. Though it was an impulse, his quiet personality was stronger than a simple impulse. He knew that calling for help would be futile in this situation—therefore, he stayed silent and attempted to pull himself free.

What the hell is going on? Sahib wondered as he struggled. Soon he began to hear others waking—screaming for help. Sahib said nothing as he heard their screams, but heard a voice next to him say that it was pointless to scream. Why don't you shut up, Sahib thought in a rather pissed off way. You'd be screaming like a sissy in under five minutes of me kicking your ass. He didn't really get why that comment pissed him off so much (considering he normally would've said something exactly like it) but he didn't like the tone of the kid. Sounds arrogant, Sahib thought.

The footsteps had grown closer as Sahib had thought about this. Suddenly the blindfold was gone. He glanced about himself and found that the boy next to him had funky looking hair and looked rather puny. He snorted in amusement despite the rather dire situation. Upon further inspection about the cave, he saw many markings and odd lettering about. He stared at his Pokeballs, desperately wanting them to be in his hands so he could show them they weren't messing with the right person. The letter was just laying in his lap, pretending to be innocent. It was open. Sahib read the words. End of the line? He mused. Sahib stopped struggling, figuring that it would do more damage to his own body than was necessary. Sahib sighed heavily, figuring that it would be best to just wait and see what would happen.

Suddenly a cloaked trainer walked into the middle of them all. Sahib stared at the black cloak, knowing at once who it was. He felt his blood boil rather nastily, but he stayed silent and simply settled for glaring.

"Look at all of you, so helpless…it's rather hilarious. Part of me just wants to let you go and see how far you'd make it without your Pokémon…But instead, I think it would better if you really feel how inferior your power is compared to ours…" the man said with an evil laugh at the end. A cloaked trainer in white appeared behind each of them and untied them. Sahib grabbed his Pokeballs immediately, happy to feel them back in his hands.

He whipped around towards the trainer who freed him. Sahib released his Pokémon, and they appeared ready for battle. Alright, Sahib thought quickly, there's no way I'm going to be able to win this easily. He somehow knew that this time things weren't going to go quite how he wished for them to. The trainer smiled slightly, and that's when Sahib felt positive he had to be on double hid guard. They each released a Pokémon, but Sahib was more concerned about the large Nidoking standing directly in front of him. He swallowed heavily and brought out his Pokedex, finding that this Nidoking meant business.

"Think a little baby like you can beat this guy?" the man questioned haughtily. Sahib growled; he hated arrogance. "Nidoking, start with that puny Mareep. Hit it with double kick and finish the job."

Nidoking roared and charged towards Sahib's Pokémon. Sahib stared, unsure of what to do. Mareep took the full attack—going down and not getting up very quickly. Sahib clenched his teeth. He knew that another attack from that thing and Mareep would be down for the count.

"Here we go…Quilava, start out with ember! Furret you use a quick attack and come up right after the ember! Mareep…uh…use growl!" Sahib called, figuring out some sort of a strategy. He'd have rather had it so they all had special attacks, but thundershock wouldn't work and Furret didn't know surf yet. That was something Sahib was direly wishing for. If Furret had known surf, he might've been able to take that Nidoking with some help.

The Nidoking barely flinched when the attacks hit. The ember hit nicely, but with Nidoking being part ground type it didn't do a whole lot. Furret's attack barely did anything to the tough armor on Nidoking's body as well. Mareep followed with a simple growl. Sahib saw that Nidoking shivered, but barely. Its attack was lowering, but Sahib knew that he would need more than a simple growl to save his Pokémon.

"A little ember won't hurt Nidoking. You should learn how to properly train your Pokémon," the man commented. He pointed at Quilava. "Use poison sting on that pathetic thing."

Nidoking roared and shot a large amount of white needles towards Quilava. Quilava couldn't escape—the attack was basically inevitable. Sahib clenched his teeth and waited for it to be over. Suddenly there was a cry, and Mareep leaped in front of Quilava to take the brunt of the attack. Sahib's eyes went wide as he watched Mareep get pelted by the harsh needles. Finally the attack was over, but so was Mareep's time of battling. Sahib looked to the ground and then recalled Mareep. Quilava looked at Nidoking fiercely and growled angrily.

"Quilava, let's try another ember! Furret, go for the follow up!" Sahib called again, using the same strategy.

"Focus Nidoking," the man said simply. Sahib assumed it was short for a focus energy.

Quilava shot a burst of flame towards Nidoking, but it went in an almost spiral like formation. Furret flew along in the center of the flames, smacking into Nidoking with the force of a quick attack and fire behind it. Furret then leaped away, waiting for its next command. Quilava continued to attempt to burn Nidoking, but it didn't work as well as Sahib would've hoped. Soon Quilava ran out of steam and had to stop.

"Use thrash on Furret."

"Smokescreen!" Sahib called.

Two things happened at once. Nidoking charged towards Furret and Quilava let out a jet of thick black smoke. The smoke covered the field, making it impossible to see. Nidoking stopped its charge and stood still, unsure of what to do. Sahib ordered two quick attacks. Quilava and Furret slammed into Nidoking and hit their mark. Sahib could tell because of the annoyed cry from the large purple Pokémon. He smiled a bit, maybe we can do this!

"Stop playing, Nidoking," the man growled.

Nidoking roared so suddenly it almost made Sahib jump. Suddenly there was a loud thrashing sound, and Furret was knocked out of the smoke. It slammed into a wall and slid down, knocked out. Sahib stared, almost unable to comprehend that his Pokémon had just been taken out in almost one hit. He recalled Furret and tried to find Quilava through the smoke. When he couldn't see it, he called for a spinning ember. It was the attack where Quilava would leap into the air and unleash a powerful ember attack, while twirling to the ground.

"Heh…what do you know, it's a baby version of a fire spin," the man chuckled. "Nidoking, I told you I've had enough. Finish it with double kick."

As Quilava unleashed its attack, Nidoking roared and charged. The smoke was slowly fading, and Sahib was able to see that Nidoking was getting hit by the majestic flames while charging. He smacked his large foot into Quilava once. Quilava cried out and fell to the ground. It attacked once more, and that was all she wrote. Sahib stared, but then recalled Quilava. He had expected to lose—but not this badly.

Chapter 7 Part 2: SRSLY WTHZORZ?

Cairne scouted out a nice large tree in the middle of Route 32 and decided he should take a nice break. He laid back on the tree and pulled out his black Ponytail allowing every strain of his hair to fall loose onto his shoulders. He laughed as Numel and Honey played out in the meadow. He pulled out a jar of honey that the boy had left behind and took a spoonful and placed it into his mouth. The sun shone warm on his face and he felt great.

"Maybe all that stuff that happened was just a coincidence... I need to take it slow and relax." He took another spoon of honey and took a look at his two Pokemon, Numel looked completely exhausted trying to chase Honey down and yet Honey looked perfectly fine. Cairne couldn't help but laugh to himself again. He couldn't help but be reminded of his Summers back home in Kanto. He remembered spending time with his best friend Kaitlyn and he felt warm inside. When they were kids they were inseperable, the two would do things like Cairne was doing but everyday. Cairne remembered th first day they met.

------------------------------F-F-F-F-FLAAAAASHBACK!----------------------------------

Cairne was sitting on the deck of his house watching his father make a statue of a Dragonite out of marble. Across the street he saw what he thought was a little boy being picked on by 5 older boys who had locked him out of the house. The boy cried on the steps of his home all alone. Cairne felt terrible so he crossed the street and sat next to him. He then proceed to make the best mistake of his life.

"Are you okay little boy?" He said trying to be friendly. The boy turned and looked at him for a second and then grabbed his hair and punched him in the nose. "What was that for!!??" She let him have a quick glimpse of her face and then yelled.

"I'm a little girl you idiot! And I'm not little! I'm in your class!" Cairne felt terrible and looked off to his right. Then he remembered something his grandfather told him to make a girl feel good. He moved her hands away, awkwardly wiped her tears away and looked into her eyes. She was obviously shocked at what he was doing and Cairne said the first thing that came to mind.

"Your pretty..." She blushed and then looked away. SHe shook her head turned around and punched him in the head.

"HEY WHAT THE HECK DO YOU WANT FROM ME?" He said and she giggled. Cairne felt so confused... Girls are weird....He felt like he might as well keep being friendly. "Hey... Would you like to come over and have a popsicle?" He said in an awkward manner. She wiped her nose on hr sleeve.

"Sure... My names Kaitlyn, what's yours?" She smiled up at him, even back then he was much taller than her.

"Call me Cairne"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He smiled remembering the good memories. He felt so terrible when he left, he couldn't even face her, he wrote a letter and left it at her doorway... Maybe she just hates him... Cairne wasn't sure but her knew someday he would go home a champion and appologize to her... Maybe even ask her out for a date...

"Yeah she was tottaly into me." Cairne said laughing to himself in a cocky manner.

"Who might that be?" Cairne heard a voice behind him and turned to see a man in a white cloak fliddling with a peice of paper up in the tree. Cairne jumped up and his two Pokemon came to his side.

"Relax there Skippy, I won't hurt you, just here to deliver a message."

" Why can't you people just leave me alone!?" Cairne yelled up at the tree. The man laughed and the paper he was fiddling with fell from the branches and when Cairne bent to get the paper and when he looked up the man was gone.

"Come back her and fight me you coward!" Cairne yelled and behind him he heard some chuckling.

"If you insist!" In front of the man was an odd Pokemon coming out of a stone, Cairne pulled out his Pokedex.

Spiritomb
"Lets go Honey! Use Gust!" Honey blew up a small tornado of wind and blew it at spirtomb who took the hit as iff it did nothing and laughed in a way similar to his trainer.

"Snadow sneak!" The man yelled and his Pokemon turned into a black splotch on the ground. The Pokemon zoomed erratically on the ground until it ended up underneath Honey and then jumped up and slammed into her. Honey shook its heads and got back into the fight.

"Sweet scent!" Cairne yelled and Honey opened its mouth to let a breeze of pink air to flow ot into Spritombs face. Spiritomb took a deep breath in through its nose and then Cairne yelled, "Now use gust!" A giant gust of wind came and surprized Spiritomb completly, he was torn from the ground and knocked into the nearby tree.

"Oh that was a dirty trick kid, now it's only fair if I use one of my own. Hypnosis then Dream Eater!" Spirtomb glided over the ground and ended up in front of Honey he looked deep into her eyes and she hit the ground sleeping. He opened his mouth wide and began sucking a purple aura out of Honeys head. She cried out on pain and Cairne needed to stop what Spiritomb was doing.

"Ember Baron!" Cairne yelled and his Pokemon shot flaming orbs at Spiritomb that knocked him backwards onto the ground. "Magnitude and then Ember!" Cairne yelled out and his Pokemon Slammed his head down on the earth, giant stones flew up and started flying at Spritomb, before they made contact though Baron shot out flames at the stones and heated them to rediculous temperatures. Spiritomb was hit was molten rocks and as smoke rose from its body it cried out and went back into its keystone.

"The trainer started laughing maniacally, he returned his Pokemon and dissapeared backwards into the grass.

"Seriously, I have to remember to just burn ghosts right at the begning from now on." He said and he began opening to letter the cloaked man left behind.

His head became light and before he could read the text he lost consciousness into the grass.

Sahib silently stared at the ground, unable to think of what he could do. There was nothing to save them now—they had all lost, and he knew it. He lifted his head and saw that the black cloaked trainer was slowly making his way forward once more. It reminded Sahib vaguely of the night Falkner died, and he was doomed to wonder if each of them would meet the same fate. He glanced around at the other trainers sadly, feeling slightly bad for them though he normally wouldn't have. I wish…things were different, Sahib thought sadly.

"Haha, that was quite entertaining," the man began, chuckling darkly. "Have you not realized yet that I have been toying with you this whole time?" He laughed again, making Sahib growl softly under his breath. The man paused and looked at all of them before continuing. "This time though, it is much different. You're getting stronger everyday, and surely we can't have that. I thought after Falkner's death they would've shut the gyms down and you would all be forced to stop. But no. Oh well, that just means we had to handle this matter in a different way…" he trailed off then. He pulled out a Pokeball from under his cloak and brought out a Skarmory.

"Well then! Goodbye," he stated, finishing with another dark chuckle. His Skarmory cocked itself back as it prepared to deliver the final blow to each of them. Sahib's jaw locked together. The Pokémon took off, and Sahib stayed silent. Suddenly another Pokémon jumped in its path and stopped it dead. Sahib stared silently at the Infernape as he wondered what exactly was going on. Soon, a trainer walked up silently behind the Infernape.

"All of you, go now!" the man shouted. He seemed to be unaffected by the thick taste of evil in the room. It almost appeared as though he had faced worse. Sahib noted that he was rather short. About five feet and five inches in height, with more of an athletic build. He looked rather old, but still in great shape. "Go now!" he shouted, pointing down a tunnel that must've lead outside.

Sahib paused as the others ran out, but finally he turned and ran as well. With a look over his shoulder, Sahib saw the man release a Luxray and a Blastoise. He stared at them for a moment.

"Well, well…it seems I have an unexpected guest. A familiar one at that…Grecko," he said. Sahib could barely hear it as they all ran further away until they came upon an exit.

Finally they all reached the outside. Sahib set his hands on his knees and panted lightly, looking back. He was glad the Grecko guy showed up, but he wasn't exactly sure what to make of him. Though from his travels and life previously, Sahib had learned not to trust anyone, he was still grateful. Sahib let out a breath, looking around at the Ruins of Alph.
