What do you like most about the Latis?

Their wonderful appearence generally, I just adore the way how they look. Latias is just as adorable as she can be. ^_^

Ha ha, thanks for the envy (I guess...)! I used Adobe Photoshop 7, a regular old graphics tablet, and a size four brush to draw. I actually made quite a couple of mistakes; a good thing to know is that the picture's size undoubtedly affects line size and smoothness!

I agree that saxophones are nightmarish to draw. I had to get, oh, about seven references to draw that thing.

I'd really love to join DeviantArt, but, again, I feel like I'm not ready yet. Nonetheless, expect a spontaneous appearance sometime in the future; I'm really looking forward to joining!

Oh! That PokeSona picture is SoulDew, isn't it? She's really good! And that picture isn't that bad; I especially liked how you drew the flower!

The fan club picture isn't that bad, either; I actually envy how you drew that Soul Dew in the center! I'm terrible with shading and colors...

Hmm...I suppose I should actually answer the Lati question now, huh?

What do you like most about the Latis?

I really like how the two complement each other. The fact that the two seem like complete opposites in terms of personalities, color schemes, and stats, but actually have a wonderful brother-sister relationship...It's something completely original for Pokemon in general. I guess that's why I like them so much.

Besides, Latios is just too darn awesome, and Latias is just too darn cute.

The Souldew? Oh, I learned from a pixelated picture and use the technique on most of my eyes. Tonnes of people have asked me to do a tutorial (well, my tonnes is like, 3 xD) so I might have to soon.

Uhyah, I really like their... speed and cuteness. :3 As we all do.

What will be Latias and Latios's strongest opponent?

Themselves! Dun dun DDAAAAAARRRR! Lol, no. Um... Latias' will be Ash and trying to overcome her "OH ILYASH!" And Latios strongest opponent will be overcoming his protective..ism. He needs to lay off :3 ♥

Darkrai, who is legendary and effective against them, or Weavile, who isn't legendary but is even more effective against them.

Arceus. Because it has the highest stat. I think it's a good opponent for the Latis.

A lot of offensive-based dragons are strong against the Latis (Salamence, Garchomp, etc.) Plus there are those with type advantages (Tyranitar, Weavile, etc.) that can bring the pain ¬_¬ Of course, a Dark/Bug/Ice Arceus would also be tough..

btw.. fanart time! Although Latias isn't exactly the "point" of this image, at the same time, she is.. xD I shall link it since it's mega-huge! :]

Wow, thats one big picture.

What do you like most about the Latis?
To me its interesting how they seem to be like both birds and dragons. Althought they wouldn't be unique there as Altaria is another example.

If you are talking about the game specifically, they would be any pokemon with effective Dark/Dragon/Bug/Ice attacks.

After seeing Ratiasu-kun's awesome picture, I'm motivated to draw and maybe digitalize Latis fan art.

You and your Photoshop lol. That's an awesome picture. I love the shading, and the light effects, and the rocks, and the...starfish?

I really need to draw more, as keeps coming up in this thread. Although I'm stuck with the equivalent of GIMP...and I really don't know how to do shading or lighting for squat. My idea of shading is to use a non-soft brush to highlight dark and light spots, which I really should stop doing lol.

Anyways, that icon on your deviantart page is what I've been thinking of making to use here...I guess you beat me to it ;)

Ah well. I've aslo been thinking of doing a triangle from the Lati's bellys that transitions from blue to red. I think I'll go for that, instead. Unintentional rhyming FTW.

Yep. Latios has the Special Attack, and Latias has the Special Defense. Toss in the Soul Dew, and the hurt is on its way.

Yes, I think so. Because the Latis's stats are very good.

Actually, only the stat they specialize in is truly godly (SP.DEF for Latias, and SP.ATK for Latios). Speed is also one of their strong suits however. But other than that, they aren't that much more powerful than other Pokémon, which is a good thing, because you can argue against a SoulDew-less Lati being "uber".

But still, they are remarkable Pokémon!

How do I always get back to uber discussion?? D:
 
Don't forget the fact that you had also mention the Soul Dew a few times if I dew recall... (Seriously, no pun intended; it is but a random typo. XD)

Yes, as Ratiasu-kun had previously posted, Latias specializes greatly in Special Defense, while Latios specializes greatly on Special Attack. They both also work pretty good with speed, as you can see in their movie debut, they can fly through the air fast and swiftly.

By the way, here is my first attempt on drawing Latios, nothing too bad but nothing special at the same time. I wish I had the time to color it, although it does look nice enough already in black and white:

Not too bad there. The proportions are mostly fine, although the head seems a little too big or something along those lines. The line quality is good, you don't have wild scribbling (like I usually do XP). Color would be alright, but like you said, it looks pretty nice without it.

I do have a new topic that is kinda boring, but we seem to be running out of them so hey.

They have the same basic body shape, they can all apparently live underwater for indefinite periods of time, they can all fly, and they can all telepathically communicate with humans. I'm going to go with a definite "maybe".
