Cool a Lati Fanclub!

I hacked PMD2 to start with Latios and for my partner to be Latias!

Also, I love shiny variations!

As a bonus, they can be used in the battle tower, with a Soul Dew, and they're Ubers!

They are simply awesome! Can I join?

Its funny that in PMD1, You could be any Pokemon you want anytime in the game once you get them, but in PMD2, You can only play as that Pokemon in the actual Dungeon.

Well, Gawain has suggested that I'd try get an avatar. Seeing that I've got next to no talent in art, I decided to try to make one. What do you guys think?
 
Well, it's not bad. I can definitely tell what it is! :P Which is much better than most people already!

What did you use to make it? It doesn't look like MSPaint.
 
I actually did use MS Paint to make Latios' eye and then I tried to draw an outline of a Latias (still using Paint), before I shrunk it so it could actually fit into the eye. Then I used Photoshop to combine the two, hence the reduced opacity of Latias.

I guess it turned out alright, but I'm no good at actual art.

It's not bad, but the lines are a tad jagged. I'd suggest going over that exact outline with the pen tool in Photoshop, and then stroke-fill that with simulated line weight. It's pretty easy, and you get a fantastic brushwork look.

I decided to try it out and yeah, it does look smoother, not to mention I tried to make the white part a little bit more grey (not too much otherwise it'll blend with the forum skin) as Latios is more darker then his sister, (Try a double battle with them, the back sprites look drastically different) although I get the feeling there's still something missing...
 
Well, if you really want to be nitpicky, I think his pupil would be better off completely black. And perhaps if you gave his eye a slightly different shade of red (just darker maybe?), the Latias reflection might be easier to make out in there?

That's just my opinion, you really don't need to change much. Other than that, the pen tool was a definite improvement!

What a good start! MS paint! That's my basis for my graphic arts, along with Adobe. I concur with that.

Well, I do post on other threads, but not as much as I post here. I guess there's a lot to talk about. And while I do have some other interests in the other clubs, I do perfer to watch what's going on sometimes.

I'm wondering how I can get to Southern Island right now... I really want a shining Lati. I wouldn't mind a card version, either.
Anyone think that they will be obtainable in a future game?
 
They should be, because if not I'm gonna piss off. Like what happened in DS, I thought you can get one of them in the game.

Hey, do you like my new theme? Made it using MS Paint in about 20 minutes. Thought it looked funny and cool.

Unfortunately, I doubt that they'll be capturable in future games, if the games keep following the same formula, that is.

Except for FR/LG (which were remakes), I don't think any older-generation legendary could be caught in a newer game. This is me recalling off the top of my head, so feel free to correct me.


That's quite a good Latios for MS Paint, Gawain!

Before I got Photoshop, I had to do all of my drawings in Paint. And even when I did get Photoshop, I still had to do line art in paint because I wasn't good enough for other methods (either that or scan in line art).


As a not-so-special treat for everyone, here's a drawing I did back in August 2005. The lineart was done in Paint, and the coloring in Photoshop.

Heh, wish I could draw as good as that!

But when Platinum comes out, you'll be able to recapture the three Legendary Birds normally by chasing them down like you did with the Latis. So, 5 runners, who would you use your Master Ball on?

As for capturing Latis normally without event...There might be a good chance to capture them normally if we're going to Shikoku in Generation 5. That way, there is a fairly good chance that we'll be seeing Hoenn again and it would be something like Generation 2, where we got both Johto and Kanto. Hoenn and Shikoku 16 Badge challenge, hopefully a more tougher version then Generation 2 with two seperate Elite 4s and Champion. Steven can be the new Red, as he was in Emerald, this time with Level 90s+ and a Level 100 Metagross.

For a prediction on the Latis: The return of Southern Island. This time both are seen in the same place at the same time. This will occur somewhere on your Hoenn Journey. Like the fossils, you can only choose one to capture, but this is because you'll be involved in a double battle, the one you knock out can't be captured while the other one can as you've done before when you teamed up. The one you defeated can't be captured ever again, so the remaining Lati must be traded. Which one will you choose?
