The Legacy of Mt. Coronet
Hello! This is my idea for a new roleplay, so please read and let me know what you think and if you want to, fill out the sign up sheet to join! I shall provide a link to the OOC discussion once I've had a chance to make it.
General Rules:
- No GM-ing or PP-ing -- you cannot make ll the decisions or have your pokemon land every single attack. That's just the way it goes.
- All PC rules apply
- PLEASE PLEASE write decent sized posts with accurate grammar and good literacy - I know that writer's block can hit us all and you can't produce War and Peace in all posts, but TRY. One-liners just will not suffice.
- If you must post any OOC comments here (keep it to the OOC discussion board as much as possible) then mark it clearly as an OOC comment.
- If you wish to leave the RP/will be gone for a prolonged period of time, please let me know in advance.
- have fun guys! :)
Spoiler:
Thousands of years ago, a fierce war raged between humans and Pokémon, a war that threatened to tear apart the land and destroy the two species beyond the point of return. The cost was high, many lives were lost, and both humans and Pokémon lived in a constant state of suspicion, misery and fear. However, there came a time when both humans and Pokémon had had their fill of war, and desired to live in peace with each other once more.
A group of humans, an elder from each of the 6 regions of Kanto, The Sevii Islands, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova joined forces, organising themselves into the Human Council. The High Priest of the council, one of the Priests at the Burnt Tower in Johto, travelled to Mt. Coronet, and there Arceus deigned to meet him. Arceus had been watching the torment of war on the land from high above Spear Pillar and was saddened by it. He gathered together 5 Pokémon to represent all types – Fire, Water and Ice, Earth (representing grass/bug/ground/fighting and normal types), Thunder and Flying, Supernatural and Dragon Pokémon and organised them into the first Pokémon Council.
The Human Council and the Pokémon Council met atop Spear Pillar, and there the treaty of Mt. Coronet was agreed. The treaty specified that:
This treaty was sealed by an enchantment, channelled by the High Priest and powered by Arceus to bind all Humans and Pokémon to the treaty. However, this enchantment did not just bind the two species to the treaty, but also to one another. Powers of communication were gained by Pokémon, and humans found that they could train Pokémon, and harness their powers. The Human council and the Pokémon council agreed to bind themselves to each other, to allow smoother communication and enforce the Treaty as easily as possible. For many years, the treaty was respected, and Humans and Pokémon lived alongside each other in peace.

- Pokémon would respect human settlements.
- Both humans and Pokémon would be freely allowed sufficient resources to survive.
- Neither shall harm the other.
This treaty was sealed by an enchantment, channelled by the High Priest and powered by Arceus to bind all Humans and Pokémon to the treaty. Plot:
Spoiler:
There are stirrings of unrest across the regions, and a climate of unease and mistrust is growing between Humans and Pokémon. It has been thousands of years since the Treaty of Mt. Coronet was agreed, and there are those who flout the agreement, most notably the group of Humans organised as Team Revolution. Team Revolution have unsettled the balance and the peace between humans and Pokémon, actively trying to plunge the world back into the ancient war that had come so close to destroying the land.
The Leader of Team Revolution envisions a world where Humans reign supreme, where Pokémon are used only as tools for human gain; a world without compassion, companionship or co-operation. Under the command of the Leader, Team Revolution have begun attempting to cleanse 'unworthy' Pokémon species, and have already killed many thousands of innocent bug and water Pokémon, picking off the 'weakest' and kidnapping the 'strongest' for experimentation at their Saffron City stronghold. They have stormed through all regions, destroying Pokémon habitats and separating Pokémon and trainers, taking Humans who resisted them to 'internment' camps spread throughout top-secret locations among the regions. Of course, Team Revolution would not dream of taking any responsibility or openly stating the intent of their actions- to Humans they claim that the Pokémon are revolting, to Pokémon they stress that the Humans are attempting to spread their settlements through Pokémon habitats.
There are those, however, who resist. The descendents of the Human and Pokémon councils have been visited by Arceus in dreams, as he has been watching the Earth from on high and hopes to protect the Treaty of Mt. Coronet. It is time to once more journey to the summit of Spear Pillar, ready to defeat Team Revolution and return the world to peace.
