  • So guess who just finished Pokemon Y? It took me a while to finally start it, but, I managed to complete it very quickly once I did. I kept EXP share off for it, but, I still ended up over leveled since I didn't really run away from anything....

Going through the game again gave me a slightly more positive opinion of the Kalos region than I did before.
I may have also cried during the ending too again and that might be it as well.

Anyway, pictures! Please ignore how bad they look, it adds to the authenticity I swear. :pink_wink:

Team and E4 building. Didn't notice the glare, or should I say flare, when I took the picture so apologies.

Anyway, with that, I completed the Ultimate Challenge for mono-fighting type. If I need to I'll post the links to each of the posts where I completed each game, but, I don't really think that's necessary! ^^

If I'm gonna do a Dark monotype, seems only fitting to be on Black. There is no light that can banish the darkness!

    Pokemon Blue Ultimate Mono-fire challenge
Sorry I'm kind of late on this but I obtained 3 badges in this so it was worth something.
-Picked my starter Lizzy the Charmander
    -Battled Blue and won
    -Breezed through Viridian forest
-Level grinded with Charmander to beat Brock
-I beat Brock because of Geodudes and Onix's weak special stat in Gen 1.
    -I obtained the Boulder badge
    -Went through Mt. Moon
    -Lizzy evolved into Charmeleon
-Fought through the endless waves of Team Rocket, Paras, Geodude, and Hikers.
    -Went to Cerulean City.
-Lost to Blue at the Team Rocket Bridge D:
-Beat him and went to the Cerulean Cape to train before fighting Misty
-Beat Misty by sheer luck.(And spamming ember of course)
-Went through the S.S Anne in Vermillion City to get HM Cut.
-Beat Lt. Surge by teaching Lizzy the Charmeleon Dig
-Had to go through the treacherous Dark Cave on Route 10
-Didn't have flash, so it was a pain to go through. :P
-Got to Lavender town, and finally caught my second team member, Foxy the Vulpix.
    -Lizzy evolved into Charizard.
-Made my way to Celadon city and got my third team member Flare the Eevee.
-I evolved him immediately after I caught him.
-I got through half of the Team Rocket Hideout while I am currently level grinding Flare and Foxy

    Team:
    Lizzy-Charizard Lvl. 41
    Foxy-Vulpix Lvl. 22
    Flare-Flareon Lvl. 26

    Badges: 3/8

    Will update later on today!

    Update 1:
    - Started as Tariq in Twinleaf Town.
    - Rival Callum tried to dash past the grass (what a twit)
    - Prof.Rowan then decided to give us some pokemon!
    - I hacked in an ekans, as my starter.
    - Rival challenged me for a battle, I won, due to poison haxx.
    - Nicknamed my Ekans 'Serpex'.
    - Sped through to Dawn catching tutorial 101
    - I apparently unmasked lookers secret identity.
    - Ekans is very weak by the time I get to Jubilife, gotta go heal.
    - Go back to route 201, and catch my bidoof the Hm slave.
    - Decided to catch my second team member, 'Buddy' the Budew!
    - Got the poketch app from the purple rich guy.
    - Strolling towards Oreburgh Gate, before getting stopped by my rival, modest as always.
    - The battle didn't last long, just poisoned his Chimchar then used bite FTW.
    - Trained my Pokes with all the trainer battles on this route, before acquiring Rock Smash from the Hiker dude.
    - Caught my third member of the team, Venom the Zubat!
    - Saw Rival at the Gym, telling me the Gym leader had gone to the Oreburgh Mine.
    - Caught up with the Gym Leader, Roark as I know now, and we went to his gym
    - Budew absorbed the life out of the youngsters Geodudes and Onix.
    - Saved, blacked out on first try against Roark, his Cranidos got a headbutt flinch and crit, thanks Nintendo.
    - Second time, Budew learnt mega drain, wiping out Roarks team in 4 hits total, easy peasy.
    - Saved and closed emulator.

    THE SQUAD:

    - Venom the Zubat : Lv 7 , Hasty nature

    - Buddy the Budew : Lv 15 , Bashful nature

Serpex the Ekans : LV 11 , Calm nature.

Next update in a few hours.

As I said in the DCC, I like to (at least partially) complete my challenges before I sign up. (So this one will indeed be the run in which I use that shiny! Budew I posted in the DCC).

    Update #1: Grass - Platinum
This update still has the first Budew I caught and used (I caught the shiny one later :) ). I don't really like Grass type Pokémon, it might even be my least favourite type, but Platinum has a few good physical grass types I liked to use. Wormadam especially surprised me, in a good way, and I'll definitely try to use it more.

  • Update 2!
I went back to the Lab, and got accused for being a theif. Obviously, I wasn't, but they seemed to think so. I escaped, running away at full speed, knowing that the Johto Cops will forever be looking for me. I then grinded Pidgey to lvl7, because I knew that if I leveled it up that high, I would thrash everything in my path. I also knew that I would need to escape New Bark untill my name was cleared. I knew the only way to do that was to become the champion, and the only way to become the champion is to collect all 8 gym badges. Luckily, there was a gym north-west of Cherrygrove. I headed in that direction immediately, winnng against each trainer effortless. I shortly arrived at Violet City, and immediately headed towards the Pokémon Center. After I had healed my Pidgey (which was now level 10) I headed towards Sprout Tower. As soon as I stepped in I knew my goal was to reach the top floor. I reached the top floor, beating all the trainers in there, including the leader. I used a escape rope to leave the building, then headed towards the gym. I headed up the elevator with my level 15 Pidgey and walked forward, winning against all the trainers that were in my way. The gym badge was going to be mine. I then challenged Falkner, the first gym leader to a battle.
    VS FALKNER
I told Pidgey to use Quick Attack. It hit Falkner's Pidgey for half it's total health. Falkner's Pidgey used Sand-Attack, but Pidgey has Keen Eye, which prevents accuracy loss. I then told Pidgey to use Quick Attack again, and alas, Falkner's Pidgey was down. Falkner then sent out Pidgeotto and my Pidgey held it's ground. I told it to use Quick Attack, again and again, and in the end, Pidgeotto couldn't take it. Pidgey had won the match.

I took the Zephyr badge, and placed it in my badges case. Then my phone rang, it was Elm, and I was told to head straight to the Poké Mart immediately. I did, and was given Togepi to carry. I left the mart and one of the Kimono Girls came along and asked me how I came to be in possession of Togepi. I, of course, didn't respond for like many heroes in Video Games, was mute. I then headed south, towards Azelea and saved the game.

And that's the end of update 2, i'll be back soon to do another update hopefully!

I'd like to sign up for an ultimate grass monotype challenge. I don't know if I'll enjoy it enough or have the motivation to play through all the games with Grass mons, so if after Blue I feel like a zombie I might stop, dunno yet.

    Pokémon Type: Grass
    Challenge Mode: Ultimate
Game(s): Blue, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, Black or Black 2 (haven't decided), X

    Spoiler:

    Team update:
    Spoiler:

Splinter the Raticate <= TMNT was on my mind after watching AVGN and Nostalgia critiic review the Micheal Bay TMNT movie
Byrdd the Fearow <= Larry Bird for some reason suddenly popped into my thinking process
Infinity the Persian <= People who play League of Legends and have played Persian in Gen 1 should know the reference
Not OU the Clefable <= Because this is Gen 1, not Gen 6.
BigNigga the Snorlax <= This Snorlax was really frustrating to catch.
Majoruros the Tauros <= Some people who have played Ragnarok Online may get the reference

I'm not going to go all fancy with the moves that they got since this is Gen 1 and options for moves were very limited in this gen and signature moves such as Persian Slash are always going to be there so i think there's no point in being elaborate with it.

    Specific purposes include:
Byrdd as our Anti-Tank Toxic Drill Peck set. Basically the same set as that of a Pidgeot but with Drill Peck instead. Toxic to wear down big threats and Fly to pseudo toxic stall.
Not OU as our BoltBeamer = ThunderBolt and Ice Beam are on her set mainly to defeat foes that BoltBeam was built for.
Amneslax = Gen 1 Amnesia is the best boosting skill ever. and this is on Snorlax as well. I'm going Competitive on our in-game foes! He also doubles as our Field Worker with Strength for its STAB and Surf to abuse Amnesia with.
Majoruros carries Earthquake for the team since its fast, and it can definitely use the high power. BigNigga already has Amnesia, Rest, and Surf on its kit to be the special heavy hitter.

For some reason, I felt that this is the fastest final team I've assembled after months of playing monotype runs. Also, every pokemon in this team has access to moves that provide type coverage or extra boosts and everything in between so yeah. I definitely got what i wanted. Also, Gen 1 has so many useless TMs that either have to be thrown away or be used as filler moves. (LOL RAGE)
