Horror games. They either scare the pants off you...or they don't. To commemorate this timeless genre, why not share your creepiest horror game moments?

Are there any scenes you can remember that just give you chills? Any death or game over scenes that haunt your dreams? Any dramatic, heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat moments that still have you waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat? (If you can, add some video links or screenshots...scary is always better in HD...)

    Silent Hill 1-3
Every Resident Evil before 4 (I shouldn't have to explain these 2 series. Gave me nightmares when I was younger.)
Yumme Nikki (Nice little freeware game. Also, Uboa)
Demonphobia and Xenophobia (There's this one part in Demonphobia where you litterly get raped by a gilatine. Seeing stuff like just doesn't leave you. A lot more grusome deaths too. I actually wouldn't recommend it unless you're sick or into guro. Don't worry, I ain't into that stuff, just sick.)

    Crap, forgot System Shock 2.

    Silent Hill.

One of he scariest games ever, above even Resident Evil.

    Silent Hill was pretty scary,

So is that game on 360, Condemned or something along those lines. That was real scary, I was at my friend's house and he invited some friends over and he turned off the lights and I was in there with 10 other males tightly packed together in a small room. It was quite the horrific experience.

The mirror room in Silent Hill 3; here. Creepy scene!

    Silent Hill 2.
    One of my favorite games.
It is a brilliant horror game. Start to finish.

I played the original Resident Evil when it was out in '98.
It scared me so much! XD
    I was only 9 :P

Silent Hill scared me a lot when I was a kid playing it alone in the dark. xD
I don't find cinematics to be scary when compared to the gameplay though...
Stalker gameplay was quite scary, it was pitch black (in game and irl) and a large amount of zombies started running out of nowhere screaming. x_x
Resident Evil didn't really scare me at all...

I don't think I've ever really been scared playing a game. The closest I've probably ever come is F.E.A.R just for the jumps. It wasn't as scary as it was startling to have something jump out at you, even when you expected it.

    This is gonna make me look like a total pansy, but in .Hack//, playing through the corrupted levels in the dark freaked me out. X: I don't like horror things. ;-;

One moment that really scared me..And I'm being properly serious..

..In the original Castlevania when Medusa's head comes alive.

Any time the Pyramid Head is chasing you in Silent Hill 2... it's pretty damn scary.

My friend, that is not being scarred, that is the thrill of the chase! :D

I think the Mirror Room in Silent Hill 3 is scary when your playing with the following...

    # All Lights Off
    # 1 am at night
    # Surround Sound
    # HUGE HDTV
    # With the belief your house is haunted
    # No one is home
    # You have a mirror next to you -.-

    That is all...

BioShock. I don't play many horror games, so thats pretty much my only one. lol.

Pyramid Head in Silent Hill 2, when he rapes the body's.

The game "The Thing" based on a movie by the same name. They did a great job on that game and it was really scary.

Anytime you saw something out of the corner of your eye, or a glimpse for a window gave you a chill down your spine.

The scene for me was when the power went out. You were alone in a dark research facility in the arctic with a flashlight that had awful range and charge. Not much good can come of that. You didn't know what to expect as you never saw the monsters before, but you knew that something was gonna go down.

Another scene was when you walked into the lab with some newfound buddies. You saw blood and bodies all over the place. You had to read some memos left by the scientists to get an idea of what happened. The more you learned, the more you wanted out of there.
