Welcome to the Official Misty (Bring Her Back!) Club RPG! Before doing anything, read the rules:

    -----------------------------------------------
Ok, here are the Misty Club RPG rules:

1.) You can?t join unless you have been accepted as a member of the Official Misty (Bring Her Back!) Club or have been personally invited by one of the members to come RP in this topic. Anyone who joins without belonging to the club or who has not been invited by a member of the club will not be permitted, and if they continue to post without approval a mod will be contacted.

2.) You may not engage in any sort of romance with Misty, and you may play Misty as well as yourself for any one of your posts where your character has a dialogue with Misty.

3.) If you are about to introduce a major plot twist, explain it before posting it in the Official Misty (Bring Her Back!) Club, and wait for the approval/disapproval of the other members involved in the RPG in that topic.

4.)No plagarizing off the members of the other RPers' pokemon teams. Try to be creative, and don't make yourself a supertrainer.

    Possible premise for the story:

After Misty?s sisters returned from their world tour, Misty once again found herself out of the job as Cerulean gym leader. Now with nothing to do, she decides to go out on her own again and explore a distant, lonely archipelago of islands northeast of Kanto in order to hone her skills as a water pokemon master...word has it that a new branch of the Pokemon League is attempting to form there, and she is interested in seeing if there is a position for a gym leader who specializes in water types. She brings along a couple of assistants with her just incase she can aid in having a gym built there, and expects to send them back to Cerulean City in a matter of weeks. Little does she know that a mysterious separatist organization is attempting to derail the formation of the new branch of the league, and even less does she know how helpful the friends she meets there will be in her quest to save the budding league and deny the organization what they want...

This will be a third-person, past-tense RPG. Make sure to write as stylishly as you can, and remember to add description and detail. You can catch pokemon along the way as long as you procure the right items first. We will confer in the club at the beginning of the RPG to contribute to the drawing of a map of the islands and the naming of major cities on the islands. The story will begin as soon as there are four or five people willing to post, and if someone doesn?t post for a few weeks, they will be written out unless they give advance notice that they will be absent for a long time.

After a long trip from the main region of Kanto to the outlaying Islands Rick Valentine was more then glad to be getting off of the boat he and his Sister had taken from Vermillion City Harbour. In fact the boat they held some ... interesting memories for them. It was the Saint Anne which they , along with Ash & Brock , had travelled on all those years ago.

" Ah feels good to have my feet on solid ground again " Rick said to his sister as they got of the boat and set foot for the first time in Port Takeshida.

" Wow look at this place " Misty replied as she stopped next to him , Togepi in her arms.

The pair took a few minutes to look around the Port town. It was pretty big town with various store dotted around the place.Takeshida was truely the gateway into Devisia.

" Well where shall we go first ? " Rick asked looking at his Sister , his faithful Absol at his side.

" How about the Pokemon Centre " Misty replied

    " Alright then "

And with that the pair made there way to the Pokemon Centre to rest for awhile after there long trip .....

<OOC>Yay! It's up! Anyway, would it be alright if I used first-person past tense. It seems more natural to me to RP that way.

    Name: Dane McLasky
    Age: 19
Physical description. Tall with a lean build. Silver hair and violet eyes (hidden under tinted sunglasses. Wears hiking boots, black t-shirt tucked in to green cargo pants w/ a belt. Silver buckle in the shape of an Earth badge. Usually wears a hiking backpack with basic camping supplies.
    Hometown: Saffaron City
Known family: Brother (17, living in Lilycove. Coordinator.), parents (Silph co. employees). The brothers are in effect excommunicated as they didn't want to work for Silph.
    Favored type: Psychic
    Team:
    Alakazam-Psychic, Psybeam, Fire Punch, Recover
Pidgeotto-Fly, Wing Attack, Gust, Steel Wing
Absol: Razor Wind, Shadow Ball, Bite, Double Team
Hitmonlee: Rolling Kick, Hi Jump Kick, Mega Kick, Swords Dance
Solrock: Psybeam, Flamethrower, Sunny Day, Rock Tomb
Cloyster: Ice Beam, Defense Curl, Water Gun, Surf

Trainer Status: Senior Trainer from the ISG (Integrated Saffaron Gym-It's the dojo and Sabrina's Gym combined). Slated to become the Branch Gym Leader in these islands if it's deemed worthwhile.

Backstory: Dane watched his parent's slaving away at Silph co. He soon decided that that wasn't the life for him. He loved the outdoors as a kid and became (and remains) extremely fit. At age 10, he registered as a Pokemon trainer. His parents weren't all that pleased, but thought he'd "come to his senses." After attempting the Indigo League at age 11 (Taking 12th place overall) he returned to his hometown to be a Junior Trainer at the recently combined gym. His skills quickly gained notice and he was placed as the Captain of the Junior Trainers. Although he preferred Psychics, he learned how to train Fighting types effectively and began a study of the martial arts. He kept training other types too, recognizing that no type was flawless. His parents grew steadily more displeased with him, eventually cutting off contact with him at age 16 when his brother also seemed to want to leave. Preasently he's looking into the feasibility of opening an ISG branch in the islands.

Personality: Dane is a bit asocial, particularly in cities. He far prefers a night alone around a campfire with a tent to the best hotel and a large crowd. Reclusive and withdrawn, he can't befriend many, although he lopyal to his superiors. Unlike most Gym-linked Trainers, he believs in League cooperation, rather than competition.<OOC>

    Prologue:
"Your'e sure you want to do this, Dane?" Sabrina seemed uncharicteristically anxious about this. I smiled and nodded, saying "Of course I do, ma'am. Besides, I am the best candidate." She sighed, saying "You are at that. Very well, we've chartered a plane to take you to Slateport. From there, you'll get a Ferry ticket to Port Takeshida." I sighed and bobbed my head in confirmation, feeling quite grim. Nevertheless, I hefted my pack and tossed a grey traveler's cloak on. I was walking south towards the airfield when I heard a shouting. It turned out to be Sabrina and Gichin-sensei, yealling at me to "Call when I arrived!" I acknoweldged them with a wave and continued walking.

It was three days later when I finally walked down the gangplank of the ferry onto the Takeshida docks I was searching for a Pokemon Center from where I could call when someone bumped into me. I turned with a snarl to see nothing more than a brief flash of red hair. Finally I spotted the familiar P logo and made a beeline toward it, twisting my way through the crowd. I made the double-doors of the center shortly thereafter and made my call. Gichin-sensei's aging face popped up onscreen. He loked relieved to see me, although he tried to be as brusque as usual, saying "You made it there safely, then?" I nodded, asking at the same time "How's everyone at the Gym?" Replying, Sensei said :"Fine, for the most part. That little brown-haired Junior Trainer, the one that joined recently?" He paused, waiting for me to remember the face. I nodded again. He then continued "Well, she seems pretty upset. I think she might've...You know..." I sighed at this and nodded one more time, saying "Alright. Give everyone my best." and hung up. Walking over to the counter, I asked Nurse Joy for a private dining room, and if she had it, an empty bedroom.

Oh, first person is just fine! I wouldn't dare force anyone to go against their preferred style...oh, and I'll have my first part of the story in approx. half an hour.

OOC: I like first person too, it just works better for me.

Name: Stafan Bashkir, but now goes by the alias of Sephioth. (Hey, what can I say? There isn't any FFVII in poke-world so it's not like anyone should know the name.)
    Age: 17
    Sex: Male
Pokemon: (Doh, golduck and starmie are so overused, time to break out the creativity... We are alowed to catch more later, right?)
Gyarados: Outrage, Dragon Dance, Aerial Ace, and Earthquake.
Milotic: Recover, Mirror Coat, Surf, and Ice Beam.
Walrein: Surf, Sheer Cold, Blizard, and Rest.
Charizard: Flamethrower, Blast Burn, Aerial Ace, and Superpower.
Tyranitar: Crunch, Rock Slide, Thunder, and Blizard.
    Hometown: Fortree city
Physical Description:Somewhat small for his age, and scrawny. He is about 5'4'' and has white hair which never seems to be combed, and bright blueish-green eyes. He wears a dark greatcoat, whith light alloy pads on the shoulders, as well as black pants, and black boots. (See the attachted file, but with short hair)
Personality Description: Almost always relaxed, never getting upset, though sometimes rather annoyed. As well as a somewhat sick sense of humor, he can never seem to make a joke that anyone but himself can understand.
Backstory: As a little kid from fortree city, he wanted to grow up to become a great pokemon trainer, like his uncle. though his parents discouraged this, he never gave up his dream. On the night of his thirteenth birthday, a neighbors house caught on fire, and spread to his own. The fire was quickly put out from his neighbors, it completley destroyed his own home, and his family, though he had been able to get out alive. Having got his pokemon liscense in secret, he decided he had nothing left here, and certainly wasn't going to stick around by the time discussion of foster homes began, so he set off on his own journey.

<OOC>CK, just a head's up: Whenever you make a post that has nothing to do with the RP it's customary to denote this part with some sort of <OOC> (Out Of Character) tag.<OOC>

OOC: Yeah, I knew about OOC but I just didn't see it as necessary that time since I officially hadn't entered the RP at that time, but I do use it a lot when I RP.

    Name: Luther Goldman

    Age: 18

Physical Description: 5'10 of an average buid with a thick head of blondish-brown hair. Wearing a black shirt with red hawaiian-print floral designs on it, a plain white undershirt, along with khaki carpenter pants.

    Hometown: Blackthorn City

Team (5 pokemon, not necessarially the best moves, but the ones that best suit the pokemon):

Xatu-Night Shade, Future Sight, Psychic, Double-Team
    Kingler-Metal Claw, Guillotine, Crabhammer, Blizzard
    Golem-Explosion, Earthquake, Rollout, Double-Edge
Shedinja-Confuse Ray, Aerial Ace, Shadow Ball, Toxic
    Ditto-Transform

Trainer Status: Average trainer, placed 4th in Silver Conference before retiring to becoem a pokemon breeder. Now hopes to be at the beginning of something big in the new league.

Backstory: Began serious training at age 14, but did not feel comfortable competing in Silver Conference until he was 17. His team of six pokemon was reduced to five after his Electabuzz lost the conference for him and was released. Thought he could find fulfillment in pokemon breeding, but now desires to battle again. He is going to the new archipelago to judge the strength of the trainers there, and wonders if he could even find himself in an administrative position for the new league there.

Personality: Very serious in all situations from being alone since his early teenage years. Always cool in battle, has a disdain for the theatrics some people use when battling. Isn't sure how to react around others, but will quietly become their ally if they wish for it to be.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A new hope...likely my last. I daren't botch this final opportunity; I shudder to think of going back to the drudgery of Blackthorn...

It had been a long journey from the ferry at Cinnibar Island. With painful slowness, it had seemingly inched its way up the southern and eastern coasts of Kanto, then steaming its way on the wide ocean, under the shadows of the wild mountains of the untamed regions beyond, and had finally veered out to sea. It was slow, it was noisy, but at least it was cheap. One does not make much money feeding a field of Phanpies and Gligar three times a day...it had been so much more pleasant in the training days...

Luther leaned against a guardrail on the starboard side of the rusted old ferry, sipping out of a styrofoam cup of water. The salty sea air made him feel thirsty very often, and he made frequent trips back to the rickety drinking fountains in a dingy hallway of the ship. At times the place felt so gloomy he thought he was in a floating prison instead of a ferry, but whenever he looked to the blue horizon ahead of him, hope would weakly penetrate his thoughts. He wanted to be a pokemon league administrator or instructor for these distant islands...the pay would be nice, plus he could sit down and put his knowledge of the pokemon league to good use at a desk instead of a field. Yes, he thought, that was the kind of life he wanted, mundane but comfortable...

Luther was about to make the bothersome trip to refill his cup when he began to see a gathering of freight barges and cargo ships in the distance, and inferring that the port of Takeshida was close, he decided against getting one last swallow of watter to watch the harbor loom closer on the horizon, to look finally upon what he was in for...

As the ferry drew closer, he was able to see different attributes of the port...it was worn out with time, full of boats stained with rust and with hulls eaten away slowly from sea salt and the constant change of seasons...grim-faced men were on the piers surveying crates being packed and unpacked, and old, noisy cranes lifted giant bundles of cargo into the air and onto flatbed trucks and rail cars. The sounds of laboring workers talking and walking on metal decks could be faintly heard, as well as the wail of the seagulls and wingulls.

Surveying the scene sufficiently, Luther ran back into his cabin and grabbed his bags from the metal slab that was supposed to be a bed. He then ran back out just in time to see the ferry come to a hault at a pier, and the captain, unkempt with patches of dirt on his face and wild salt-and-pepper hair, unlocked the gate and a youger but just as unkempt crewman hoisted a wooden platform across the front of the ship, out of the exit gate, and onto the pier below. Two dull-looking people, a man and a woman, were the only other passengers on board, and walked off with their bags in a mechanical fashion.

"What a sad place..." Luther muttered under his breath, and walked off the platform onto the pier. It felt as if he was out of the frying pan and into the fire, for the port seemed as run-down as the ship...

After a short walk Rick & Misty had arrived at the Pokemon Centre. While Misty was getting there Pokemon healed by Nurse Joy Rick had decided to make a quick call him to tell Daisy and the others that he and Misty had arrived.

' Doubt they'll care though ' Rick thought as he waited for them to answer

After rough 2 minutes Rick gave up and hung up. It was just like them not to answer when they actually needed to. Walking over to the main desk where Misty was he leaned back on it and looked around the room. Everyone seemed so ... cheery here.

" Any answer ? " Misty ask , the look on her face giving away the fact that she already knew the answer.

    " No , I figured they wouldn't " Rick replied

The pair remained silent while they waited for their Pokemon. Neither of them were overly popular with there elder sisters and the fact they had decided to up and leave like they did hadn't really gone down well. After a few minutes Nurse Joy returned with there Pokeballs and Ricks Absol.

" Hey there fella " Rick said patting Absol on the head

" Would you kids like a room ? " Nurse Joy asked with her usual happy expression on her face

    " Sure , thanks " Misty replied with a smirk " But we'll eat first "

It was a quiet meal bny myself. Just the way I liked it, too. The food seemed decent enough, although I thought I could have done with less fish. It was only 4:00 when I checked my watch, far from time to retire for the night. Standing and streching, I left the Center, my boots making a most satisfying clomp on the tile floors, then onto the cement of the street. Bleary-eyed, I turned back to the docks. They seemed the most deserted. I only saw the usual workers (and they, fortunately, kept to themselves) and a few people getting of a tin can of a ship.

Luther was glad to be out of the docks...it smelled of smoke and fish, and the sound of machinery was strangely unsettling. He unfurled a simple, manila-colored map from a large pocket in his pants and stared at it closely, hoping to find the Takeshida pokemon center. He leaned upon an electrical pole and turned it one way, then the other, but to no avail.

"An outdated map..." he grumbled. "I'll just have to ask someone." Luther dragged his feet onto the sidewalk bordering the port, and had to stand still momentarially to get his balance after his trip on the sea.

I am definitely not cut out for sea travel... he thought to himself. He readjusted his pack on his shoulders, then looked around for a passerby with which he could inquire about the whereabouts of the pokemon center, yet the area seemed deserted. Darting his eyes around the premesis again, he noticed a silver-haired gentleman from afar eyeing the port with interest.

"Must be a supervisor or something...he still might know where I should go, I would suppose that there's no harm in asking him..." Luther felt the situation would be most awkward, but he had to find the center; he wasn't up for roaming the city all afternoon. He strolled over to the man's location, near the entrance to the docks.

"Sir," said Luther, in a calm, low voice, "by chance do you know where the Takeshida pokemon center is?"

I looked up from the pavement, startled. Finally coming to my senses, I said "Just a bit down that road and to the left. I'll walk you over thre, if you like."

"If you wish," Luther said. "I'm horrible at remembering directions."

"You said that road, right?" Luther pointed to the road, then began to slowly walk across the street, which was strangely absent of automobiles. Everything seems deserted here... Luther thought upon this for a moment, then turned his attentions back to following the man back to the pokemon center.

"Precisely" I snapped. Figuring I might as well make a bit of conversation, I asked "So what brings you down to the islands?"

OOC: D'oh, this is the last time I trust email notification. We are allowed to be people other than misty's assistants, such as a regular trainer on the islands, correct? Or possibly waiting to see if there are any openings in gym leader opsitions for the new league?

A small black shadow appeared against the fog, slowly making it's way towards the dismal island. It was me, riding on my walrien, having heard the rumors of a new branch of the league forming. "Sors immanis et inanis, what a cheery place." I thought to myself as we came closer. Eventually, we reached a small peninsula going out from the island, and I withdrew Walrien.

"Now, let's see..." I though, as I got out my map, and began comparing it to the island around me. "If I'm here, then Takeshida should be over... There." I put away the map, and began walking towards the port. I planned to get a good meal and let my pokemon rest some, and then see if some of the rumors were true...

My pocket started buzzing. To be more accurate, it was my Palm with a new e-mail. Opening it I read
    Dane

One of my contacts tells me that the man trying to organize this League is pretty close, actually just two towns over. His name's Clarence Walsh and he's working as a lab assistant in Ashlar town. Go there immediatetly.

    Sabrina

OOC: Yeah, shineyelectrode, you can be a person other than one of Misty's assistants.

BIC: Luther was about to answer, but refrained to allow Luther to read a message he apparently received on a palm he carried in his pocket. He cleared his throat (it was feeling rather salty at the moment, he wished he had brought some water from the boat with him) and began his reply in a quiet, matter-of-fact voice.

"Word has it that there's going to be a branch of the pokemon league opening up on the archipelago. I'm hoping to get some sort of office job working for them here; it sounds a lot better than my old line of work. Pokemon breeding is definitely not all it's cracked up to be. I figured that the Takeshida pokemon center would be as good a place as any to begin my job hunt." Luther thought it would be quite awkward for the conversation to end right there, so he thought asking a similar question to the man guiding him would aid in continuing the conversation.

"And you...do you work at the docks? Or what do you do here?"

I needed to get going soon, and I knew. But, I'd been asked a question and politeness wouldn't allow me to walk off. I replied a bit shortly "I'm from Saffaron. I suppose you could say I'm their Gym's emmisary." We'd reached the Center's walkway. I continued, smirking, "I assume you can find your way from here."

"Saffron, eh?" Luther spoke softly, then turned to the door of the center.

"Well, thanks for your help." He turned, and stood in front of the door of the old-looking building...it certainly wasn't a pokemon center when it was first constructed, it looked more like it would have been an apartment or warehouse. It was three stories tall and made of a deep, red, crumbling brick. The only thing that looked new were the illuminated sign above the door and the glass doors, which had the broken circle logo of the pokemon league on them. A dim light came from the reception desk inside. Luther hoped it wasn't closed, because he knew for a fact that the pokemon center curfews varied from city to city. He stepped on the mat in front of the door, and, fortunately, they opened. It was very dark inside, not even a nurse at the desk.

Even more desertion in the pokemon center...there's something odd about this town...
