The Official Shiny Thread

I've got a shiny Tyrogue...^^;;
In all my years of playing Pokemon, I've yet to encounter a shiny in the wild. But, perhaps if I quit being lazy/easily frustrated, I'd have more luck with chaining...XP

At the moment I'm trying to get Generation 1 shinies, most recently I got Doduo and Fearow. Reeeeeally want a Gastly and a Diglett though.
 
In my opinion, Diglett is a rather boring shiny. The only real difference is the nose...x.x;
 
Yeah I know, I just like Diglett is all.

I just got a shiny golbat in sapphire. My first ever random shiny! lol Usually I chain in diamond but it felt so good to stumble onto one in sapphire.
 
I wish I could find a shiny randomly in sapphire :( I am never lucky, apart from getting a shiny bidoof at a chain of 1 and finding a shiny zubat in crystal

but you stumbled across one in crystal and plus a chain of 1? that's pretty lucky if ya ask me! :D I just evolved my shiny golbat into a crobat! I'm glad it's a female lol
 
Caught my first one second in chain while EV training. Missed the patch and ran into if randomly what luck :D (machop)
 
I got a shiny Slowpoke over Wi-fi. I also found a shiny Raticate while evolving Pokemon for the National Pokedex, but it killed itself(double-edge).
 
question on getting shiny

whats the most highest percentage to get/catch a shiny pokemon? also if i breed a shiny pokemon with a ditto is it possible that ill get a shiny pokemon
 
Well, there is a new shiny glitch (RUMORED) out now.
Via eggs.

the ratio is 1/8912 or 1/8192 I believe but I will look for the exact ratio.
 
Today I got my hands on a shiny caterpie I think at chain of 43 or 44. I'm now the proud owner of a shiny butterfree! :D
 
I caught a shiny oddish in Ruby. Now I have a shiny Bellossom :)
 
I recently got a Shiny Gyarados over the GTS. It's Lv. 20, has been Rare Candied from Lv. 1 (hatched in Solaceon Town), and has okay IVs. Too bad it has a Gentle nature.

And I'm trying to SR for a Shiny Mewtwo in LG. Not having any luck, though. ):
 
I want to get a shiny Dialga, I'm right infront of the encounter with the three leaders. I've yet to have diagla on my screen yet. So should I restart my game if the sprite isn't shiny or have I saved to late and I don't have a chance to get one? Can I keep resetting after I fight the three leaders or not?
