And in Championship, you spend all your time in one map (your farm).
You don't exist as an entity yourself, it's more like a tamagotchi.
When you want to catch something, you go to a different map, (I.e. plains, volcano, ice, whatever) in which you find lots of overworld Digimon.
Once you find a Digimon, you circle it with the stylus (which ropes it), then kinda drag it along the ground and its stamina decreases.
Once it's knocked out you kinda pick it up and take it with you back home.
It would have to be modified to suit an RPG though, since you actually exist.
Maybe you enter battles through Digimon overworlds on the map, like in some RPGs!
