  • i beat thorton when i had a 3% chance, his slakings giga impact missed and my shiftry got a crit on, i think it was energy ball
    does scarfed porygon-z work in the hall.
    we should make a battle frontier club

    There already is a club.on 120 with kiss in the hall using scarf kiss.finished all the tough types so yeah i think i can hit 170.
    As for the club,I think there already is one :p
    Porygon-z could work well but in the hall you can switch iteams so if i were you I would switch to sash for fighting lum for grass/bug/psn etc.

    just died in the factory on battle 49 here's how it goes

    eli (me) send out swampert
    thorton sends out regirock

    swampert OHKO's it with earth power

    thorton sends in latias
    latias uses draco meteor swampert survives with yellow HP
    latias then uses whight herb
    swampert gets a crit on ice beam and gets the lati to yellow

    lati kills swampy with mist ball

    go gardevoir (why didnt i send out zapdos)
    lati gets gardevoir dow 2 about half with surf
    gardevoir kills with shadow ball

    then he sends in jynx
    i try to destiny bond but he kills with icebeam

    i send in zapdos
    i use heatwave and get him to a slither of life, he then kills me with icebeam

    so close to gold

    Ok, I'm struggling with Battle Frontier (Emerald, NOT D/P/Pt). I've put together a team that got me halfway through (all silver symbols), but not quite there. Could anyone help?

    Here's my team:
    Latios @ Leftovers
    Hasty Nature
    Calm Mind
    Ice beam
    Thunderbolt
    Psychic

    Tyranitar@ Shell bell
    Adamant Nature
    Brick Break
    Rock Slide
    Earthquake
    Ariel Ace

    Milotic @ Chesto Berry
    Calm Nature
    Surf
    Toxic
    Rest
    Ice Beam

    Any suggestions on changes?

    Also, i had been unaware of EV training while putting this together. Sure, i bought a lot of Vitamins, but never did the "true" training. Anyway to undo this? Cuz, as you can see, my Latios and Milotic don't need an attack stat, and Tyranitar doesn't need a Special Attack one

    these berries lower each stats ev to 100 no matter what it is(i think)
    then every time you use one aftetr that they lower the same stat by 10

    pomeg =HP
    kelpsy=attack
    Qualot=def
    hondew=sp attack
    grepa=sp defense
    tomato=speed

  • Gah, I can not figure out three pokemon for the Battle Frontier. Should I use pokemon from the OU tier, so I can do really well. Or can I just pick my favorites, EV train them properly, give them good movesets, and the try it?

    EDIT: Okay, I have one pokemon down.

    Miltank @ Leftovers
    Impish ~ Scrappy
    252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
    - Curse
    - Milk Drink
    - Body Slam
    - Hammer Arm

    Now I need two others. How can I build on from Miltank?

  • OKAY GUYS!

    So, I have three teams. I really need some help on two. Help please? :3

    Battle Frontier Team:
    - ???
    - Miltank
    - ???

    Basically, I love Miltank. It knows Curse, Milk Drink, Body Slam, and Hammer Arm. I truly love it! Though, I can not figure out what my other two Pokemon should be. I would like them to support my Miltank...but how? I really need help on this one.

    Double Battle Team:
    - Driftblim
    - Togekiss
    - Slaking
    - Cherrim (replaced with Gallade when I am in the Battle Frontier 4 Pokemon double battles)
    - Infernape
    - Metagross

    This was inspired by Uutton's Regigigas team (Slaking acts as the gigigas). It really rocks, and does not need any work.

    Single Battle Team:

    ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    I really have no idea where to start. Should I follow tiers? Do a weather team (the only type of team I can actually make), or...what!? I really need some help starting off

    Pokeyomom

    Hoenn no you didn't...

  • For you battle frontier team, maybe something orbed would be a nice complimaent to Miltank's bulk. Maybe Salamence or Infernape? Maybe a Wisher for the last slot? ? A nice baton pass wish set would be useful to really stall down your opponents. Vaporeon?

    As far as doubles- i'm cluless:D

    Singles- Go watch some shoddy battles. Get acclimated to what is going on in the metagame at the moment, and build your team accordingly. After it is put together, test it with hypothetical scenerio's (What if this scarfed poke comes in, what if I am getting used as set up bait, do I have good type coverage,? an overall strategy that is loose, and adaptable?, etc).

    • Seen yesterday
    but it wasnt only for the battle frontier! D:

    Well make another post then with your competitive team in the other thread.

    Cluttering BF + competitive into one post causes confusion because they are totally different, so yeah. =P

  • Oh, sorry then. I will remember that next time! :]

    How is this BF Team?

    Vaporeon @ Leftovers
    Calm
    128 HP / 252 Def / 128 Spe
    - Baton Pass
    - Acid Armor
    - Substitute
    - Surf
    Set up for Miltank. Period.

    Miltank @ Leftovers
    Impish ~ Scrappy
    252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
    - Curse
    - Milk Drink
    - Body Slam
    - Hammer Arm
    Main focus of team. Can always heal itself when times get rough, a couple Curses + Body Slam/Hammer Arm make it a total beast.

    Salamence @ Life Orb
    Mild
    84 Atk / 216 SpA / 208 Spe
    - Outrage
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Blast
    - Roost
    Last resort. If anything goes wrong, Salamence can finish up the job.
