A very good item to utilize is White Herb, which restores lost defenses when Shell Smash is used.

This allows it to hit very hard with Stone Edge/Rock Slide, Acrobatics, and Earthquake, which are all that it needs to sweep.

The meteor gives it a low catch rate, but once the Core is exposed after enough damage is received, it is drastically easier to catch.

It tends to explode, though, so it will require luck unless you have a Pokémon with the Damp Ability.
