I think he is like Anubis too. When I first saw Lucario in game I mistook him for a dark type Pokemon, because he does seem to be inspired by Anubis, the jackal-headed gaurdian of the underworld. I felt even more convinced that he was a dark type when my fighting type move was effective against him, I hadn't guessed steel. I see him also as like a knight because he's a fighting type and the way he acts especially in the Lucario Mystery of Mew movie with Sir Aaron seemed kinda like a squire or knight in training with a code of honor. But I think you're also right, and that he is takes inspiration Egyptian mythology as well--something else I love. This is part of why Lucario is so enigmatic great Pokemon, because of how complex he is.

I always have to make some room in my party for the gift Lucario in XY. I can't turn down it's request to join, and think the storyline with Korinna is a cool way to introduce players to using mega evolution.
