I think it's design is breathtaking. When I ran into one for the first time outside of Fortree city playing Pokémon emerald all those years ago it made me say, "Wow! I have to have this pokemon."
It's stats distribution is tricky, the attack is massive, yet it's not fast and it's defenses are paper, so it has to be used carefully. But a sword dancing Absol holding a focus sash can sucker punch it's way through a whole team. It also had that nice mega once to give it the speed to be a true sweeper.

In Gens 4 and 5, Absol actually appears in areas where disasters occurred. It appears in route 213 close to Lake Valor after Team Galactic drained the water in Diamond & Pearl, it appears in Mt. Coronet in platinum, and it appears in Giant Chasm in Black and White 1.

Absol is the best dark type pokemon ever made, bar none. Also its name being short for Absolution is just cool. That also happens to be one of my favorite music albums my Muse.
