Bastiodon's biggest strength is its problem: its defenses. That's all it has. No speed, below average attack stat, and poor hp. It is a rusted iron shield that breaks if you hit it hard enough with 2 very common 4x weaknesses.

Gender specific evolutions could have worked for burmy, but damn. Both suck. Also I have never found a ground or trash cloak burmy ever. Only grass, and that's after finding at least 50 wurmples or male combees.

Nobody did. Burmy is sadly forgettable because of its mediocre stats and movepool. Another bug type added in gen 4 that didn't amount to much like Kricketune and Vespiquen.
