I'd argue that Type:NULL is better than its evolution.

This pokemon makes RχUS angry. If one is to mimic its power then it at least should be decent. The problem with Type:Null is that it pales in comparison to other normal types. It can be tanky running an eviolite set up, but Chansey can do that much better. You want a normal type that is a great phys. attacker? Ursaring is only 4 points slower yet has a higher phys atk. plus Guts. Want a normal type that has a great sp. atk.? Porygon-Z exists plus it is way faster and has nasty plot. What doesn't help is that Type:Null is given to the player post game whereas these other options are available earlier even if late game.

"Gladion, that is a 221.6 pound chimera of other pokemon. It has no feelings, no original species, or is of nature. It is an amalgamation of myths, legends, pokemon, and was ultimately inexorably forged in an unholy beast killing obelisk called a lab. RχUS had no hand in the creation of this abhorrence. The fact that this pokemon monolith exists proves that RχUS is either impotent to alter its universe or ignorant to the horrors taking place in its kingdom. This prism of pokemon is more than a chimera. It is a physical declaration of mankind's contempt for the natural order and want of dethroning the ultra beasts and their creator. It is a hubris manifest..."
