Apparently Tinkaton is smart and loves throwing her hammer at corviknight. My source is the Scarlet Pokedex entry.

Tinkaton's hammer is about 220 lbs! Yet she can swing it as if it were a feather in the wind, and her phys. atk. is only at a base 75. I have a theory that tinkaton's phys. atk. is low only because she is does not know how to use her strength. It is like she relies solely on her hammer but does not put much power into it. Maybe she expects it to do all the work? Either way she is bulky, and that tells me that Tinkaton is a strong pokemon. Also because her hidden ability is pickpocket you can combine that with fling shenanigans. Have Tinkaton hold no item, use any contact move to steal opponent's item, throw it back with fling, repeat.

As I mentioned before, I do not mind it. I think it is interesting to make separate species of pokemon if they look similar. It is a cool way of world building and incorporates the idea of Darwinism. The problem is that so far is that this idea isn't executed too well. Toedscool has a cool design, but the pokemon sucks. Wiglett is a far better pokemon to use, but the design sucks.

You're stuck with wrap, water gun, and mud-slap until level 12. Wiglett has poor sp. atk. and wrap it too weak. Aqua Jet is a good STAB, but man I wish Wiglett got it earlier since you can encounter it level 8 MAX. Plus, trying to encounter Wiglett can be annoying. It keeps hiding in the ground when you get close to it.

Wiglett might just as well have been a Paldean Diglett.

Ceruledge looks like Gallade, but is different enough to not be a regional Gallade. I can't say the same about the Wiglett and Toedscool lines, they look and act like regional variants.
