With those defenses? Definitely not. The main weaknesses to a bug are usually flying and rock. Fire too, but 2/3 weaknesses are usually physical.

That I think is fine, except for the fact that Spidops doesn't have much. Scarlet Pokedex entry states that Spidops can protect itself from Scyther. That has to be a lie.

Scyther also has Flying STAB which is what Spidops is weak too. Somebody at Game Freak was working on this thing while his pants were on fire.

What bothers me is that not all early bug types were bad. Gen 5's early bug types ranged from good to amazing. That goes to show they can be good and should not be terrible.
