We actually did discuss this a few pages back, and your mother's very point was brought up. While there's no way to prove it conclusively, she's most probably right; it probably is just an undercover business ploy.

But my argument is 'why does it matter?' It doesn't really matter that their motives aren't 100% genuine. A show of support is a show of support, no matter how shallow or mathematically minded. As long as their gesture spreads the message that it's OK to be gay and people shouldn't be discriminated against for it, then whatever benefit they gain out of it is no business of mine.

What matters is that a good deed was done lol
 
As this club's resident rain cloud I am contractually obligated to disagree with Shining Raichu's "any show of support is good" stance and insist that only genuine shows of support, unconnected to any potential business gains, are worth praise.

Putting that aside, I've read recently that Scotland might be trying to make same-sex marriage legal. And Vietnam. And the American Democratic party might be adding it to their official political platform.

You'll be interested to know that the whole of the UK has plans to legalise Gay Marriage by 2015 (possibly excluding Northern Ireland, it doesn't mention them) - But it would seem Scotland are doing it first, those go-getters.

Everything in politics moves at a glacial pace. That's the problem with the world today in general; there's too much red tape to cut through :P

Wait...am I allowed to ask questions that have sex type topics in it? Or can I get in trouble for that? I really dont want to get banned or card-ed. I know kids use these forums so...can I ask my question?
 
Hey Altix! As long as you don't get too graphic on the forums themselves, you're more than welcome to ask sex-related questions. I have no issues with that whatsoever.

But if it is too graphic and you need an answer to it, you're more than welcome to PM it to me. I'm an open book and more than willing to answer any question you like :)

I was going too ask how bad bottoming hurt, and how to make it hurt less. do I need too delete this or am I ok?
 
Does anyone deal with family members that think its a phase and you will grow out of it? I feel thats how my grandparents are seeing me being trans. Instead of respecting my wishes about it they ignore it and it leads to many fights. I just have been staying up in my room instead of spending time like we used too. Ugh its stressful

You're OK, you don't need to delete it. It's fine to ask the question, you don't have to worry :P

As for the answer - there's no real way to answer it that's appropriate for a Pokemon forum lol. I also don't have enough experience in the bottoming department to answer your question totally (I have some experience, but your question is designed for a specialist haha) so our friend SwiftSign has volunteered to PM you a better response than I could give. :)

I wish I could help you. My attitude to people who don't accept me is to cut them out of my life and I can luckily do that. That's just how I deal with things in general though. When I've had to deal with stuff like that I figured I could go one of two ways: either ignore what people say and avoid them or any situations where it could be a problem and hope time will help things sort out, or confront them and try to get them to understand - or at least find out how deeply their misunderstanding goes so I could evaluate whether the time and effort it would take to get them to come around would be worth it.
 
So I got reminded of this thread when Andy decided to stalk old pictures of me.

Whilst we're on the subject of "bottoming" (I guess), I've noticed how a lot of people in the LGBT community have such a problem with the terms "top" and 'bottom," for the same reasons people have problems with the terms "man" and "woman of the relationship." Thoughts about this while we're on it?

Since I have no sexual experience because I'm lonely and on Pokecommunity.com.

Personally, I don't get offended by the terms themselves- I find the labels rather ridiculous; but not really for the usual "gender roles" dilemma. I mean, my sister is a very strong woman and my brother-in-law isn't a wimp, so I don't see either being "the man" or "the woman" in the relationship. People are usually a bit more complex than that.

But specifically for the whole "bottom" and "top" thing, I don't really like the tune of it. It sounds too selfish to me, I suppose. One person always giving and the other always receiving? For me at least, that just sounds weird to someone who isn't into it strictly being like that. I would rather not be forced into one or the other all the time.

I hope this isn't too spicy for the rules to handle.

Should I come out to the rest of my family. I mean mother and little sister knows but my grandmother, and my two aunts who I'm fairly close with don't know. My mom was like it would kill them if they knew. So basically I'm just in need of some advice.

Sorry, my inner grammar nazi kicked in and so did the fact that I'm a douchebag.

Those relatives, I think, are hardest to come out to. Extended family. If it helps any, I plan to deal with my extended family by.... not having to tell them at all. They don't need to know as much as my family does and I really just don't value their opinion on the subject if they aren't accepting or I don't ask them for it, and quite frankly, they don't have to know. So if they have a problem with it, they can go kiss places that aren't very pleasant to kiss. My mom even said to me after I came out to her that "You know, you don't have to start telling everyone like Aunt Carol about this. She doesn't need to know."

But seeing as your family seems to be a bit closer with its extended family than mine, I guess this solution wouldn't work as well for you if you don't think it fits. :/

But maybe it'll give you inspiration or a different outlook that will help you, I suppose? Good luck.
