Man, I just kinda forgot I was doing this, as school is catching up to me. Using 3 frail Pokemon for about the first quarter of the game really got to me mentally as well. Instead of a story-ish update, I'll go over the important parts.

I don't want my team to fill up all at once. Saving Mudbray/Mudsdale for my last team slot later on at Ula'Ula

Radboy's Ultra Sun Random Challenge
Part One - how did this take a month Good Times

Spoiler:

- Popplio was the starter.
- Caught Catshire the Meowth in the trainers school. Then lost to the bonsly trainer. (oh boy)
- Beat Teacher Emily (1 attempt)
- Beat Captain Ilima (2 attempts)
- Caught Erat the Growlithe on route 2. It had Flash Fire, which made a much bigger impact on the early game then I would have preferred.
- Sold all my revives
- Beat Totem Gumshoos (2 attempts). It would have been one attempt if Erat didn't faint during the trial and I wasn't being cocky (and if I didn't sell those revives)
- Caught Flitzy the Cutiefly in Melemele meadow, in time for Dulse.
- Beat Dulse (2 attempts). This took forever and was demoralizing. I also spammed X Items like I never had before.
- Beat Hala (1 attempt)
- Flunked the Mantine surf.
- Beat Dexio (1 attempt). This fight actually caught me heavily off guard
- Lost to the Carbink trainer in Paniola Ranch. Thankfully she can be skipped.
- Beat Gladion (1 attempt)
- Erat learned Flame Wheel (really needed tbh)
- Realize I can't catch Dewpider pre-Totem.
- Lost to a Dewpider and it's partner in Brooklet Hill
- Catshire evolved into a Persian (Lvl 20) - Notable as it has Fur Coat
- Beat Totem Araquanid after X Item spam (1 attempt)
- Caught Pop It the Dewpider.

Here's my progress after yesterday and this morning

Spoiler:

-Caught Nidoran right away and thanks to lots of scratching and tackling (and for some reason Onix constantly only bide and screech) beat brock
-She evolved into Nidorina and Nidoqueen in Mt Moon, taught her Water Gun and Mega Punch. She also learned Body Slam on the way to Bill's house
-Beat Cerulean rival very easily thanks to Mega Punch (didn't miss it once before learning a move over it)
-Ran through Nugget bridge and skipped Misty to go to Vermillion. Caught a Spearow and traded it for Dux the Farfecth'd
-Went to train Dux but he wouldn't listen so I went back to beat Misty, which was a 3 turn battle with Body Slam OHKOing Staryu and paralyzing Starmie before KOing it
-Grinded Dux until he learned Swords Dance, which led to him sweeping SS Anne Rival and Surge (gave him the Body Slam TM)
-Went through Rock Tunnel and ventured to Celadon, catching a Vulpix along the way.
-Got Fly and flew around grinding Vulpix up to lv 33, then gave it 2 candies to get it to Flamethrower and evolved it to Ninetales and destroyed Erika's gym.
-Part of the grinding was in the game corner basement getting the silph scope
-Ran through the pokemon tower with Dux (Swept the rival thanks to Swords Dance)
-Caught Snorlax, taught him Rock Slide and Double Edge
-Went down to get the Super Rod and went to Fuschia to get Horsea
- X acc + Horn drill went through Koga

Dux: lv 38, Body Slam, Peck, Fly, Swords Dance
Ninetales: lv 37, Flamethrower, Tail Whip, Quick Attack, Dig

Gonna grind until everyone is lv 40ish and go catch Weezing in the Mansion

The Random Pokemon FireRed Challenge! #2​

Sorry for the delay; I was busy with college stuff among other things. Anyway, starting from where we left off (beating Brock to a pulp), I head off from Pewter City towards Cerulean, but not before I am given the Running Shoes that really should NOT have been absent for this long if they're supposed to be in the game, but whatever. Since I cannot catch a Rhyhorn to add to my team...yet...I settle for Cleft the Geodude (Keeping with the Mario naming here; Cleft is a recurring Paper Mario enemy that lives up to his name with the most fabulous of cleft chins...though all Geodude has is a cleft lip, but he's dependable nonetheless). Along the way, I swat away the Rocket Grunts without fail and eventually make it out and arrive in Cerulean. I grind a bit, battle Gary, get the S.S. Ticket, and finally take on Misty. Oddly enough, Misty is actually quite a tough boss; her Starmie now packs Water Pulse thanks to the Gen III move addition gods, and nearly wipes out my whole team. I am able to survive however, and Bowser, now a Wartortle, eventually finishes off Starmie to complete the battle. The CascadeBadge is finally mine, and all I can see from here is the road to Vermilion.

This is quite the mix. There's a few pokemon there I'd never have considered using regularly as well. Which is the point of the run.

Just need to not over-rely on the Hawlucha which could probobly solo most of the game.

The Random Pokemon FireRed Challenge #3​

Nothing too exciting happened in this chapter either, simply me beating up everyone on the S.S. Anne as well as the rival, not to mention that the 3rd gym basically crumbled to the floor due to Cleft spamming Magnitude left, right, front, and center. Lt. Surge probably gave me the badge faster than Brock did.

On a side note, my HM slave shiny Rattata is now a HM slave shiny Raticate, though he doesn't look as cool, but least he's better stat wise. Also, I'm keeping Goonie in his NFE state until Aerial Ace is learned (Fearow isn't able to learn it via level up, and I don't want to waste a perfectly good TM).
