What do you think their roll will be in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon?

The game is an alternatate storyline, but also takes place after the events of SM (Rumour). I just hope to see the other Tapus whos name is not Koko have more of a part.

I think they just be post game as usual. Nothing they can really to do with them in game.

Interesting to think there may be new Tapus assuming there are more islands this time round. I don't think they'll serve much of another purpose other than what they already do? They're Island Guardian Pok?mon so I don't see why that would change in USM.

I'd like to see the Island Guardians do their job and, y'know, actually guard the islands. It annoyed me a little that we never got to see the outcome of Tapu Koko vs. Pheromosa, and if the UBs are going to feature more prominently in USUM - which seems like a fairly safe bet, I think - then I'd like to see someone BESIDES the player character rise up and do something about it. How about some double battles with the Kahunas and their respective Island Guardian vs. Ultra Beasts, or something? Actually incorporating them into the plot would be lovely.

...and for crying out loud, don't make me battle Tapu Koko immediately after the E4 and a very long and dull cutscene, please.

This is leaked, not comfirmed. Don't spread false rumors please.

I would like the Tapu's to be a bit more relevant.

They're great in competitive battling... and they fulfilled their roles in the story perfectly. If I would want something to change it would be the exposure of the other 3 Island guardians.

I do admit the Tapus barely had any roles in the main story in S/M, with only Tapu Koko playing a significant role in that it saved the protagonist and Nebby from the Spearow flock and also teams up with Hala to take on the Ultra Beasts.

The other Tapus we never saw them until the postgame, when the only purpose they had was for being caught by the player anyway.

If Pokémon falls back into its bad habit of casualizing the main game, they'll probably have Kukui hand you all four Tapus after the fifth trial.

If their battle against the Ultra Beasts was explored more, it'd be interesting if, when you go Ultra Beast hunting (whenever this ends up taking place, during or post game), you could witness the Tapu and UB fighting against each other, in an encounter similar to when a Corsola calls for help and a Mareanie appears. The Tapu and UB would prioritize eliminating the other rather than your Pokemon, and whichever one isn't captured could maybe reappear at that island's ruins (idk what would happen if you ko'd both, maybe you just screw yourself over on that one).

Does anyone actually think we'll get new Tapus in this game? I mean, there is potential to get up to four more, if they're going by real world geography and will add more islands to Alola...

...honestly, I think it more likely - and I actually kinda hope for this - that they'll have alternate formes without the shells; awakened formes or something. The Tapus remind me a lot of the Forces of Nature from Gen V in that they share a very noticeable similarity (although not QUITE as noticeable, since they're not lazy palette swaps) that, looking at the that way, suggests untapped potential.

I imagine they don't get a lot of action without the UBs around to stir up trouble, so they may suppress their power. It'd be nice, if their role was expanded, to see they're more significant/powerful than they're portrayed to be...I mean, guarding a whole island is a pretty big deal, right?

There is only four and we are not getting new pokemon in the final gen 7 games. So no, we are not getting new Tapus.
