The Trainer Class Challenge

Hello people. I am Casie and this is a little challenge called the Trainer Class Challenge it's relatively simple. You play your game using pokemon that only certain trainers use but since I'm nice you can us there evolved form to.(Eg: For a youngster you can use a Rattata as they have it or a Raticate since it'a Rattata evolution)

Rules:​

1. Emulators are aloud.
2. You may hack in 2 pokemon before the 1st gym the rest must be obtained in-game but you can hack to evolve.
3. No legendarys.
4. 1 HM slave per team.
5. The challenge finishes when you beat the elite 4 (r/b/y/fr/lg/r/s/d/p/pt) Red (g/s/c/hg/ss) Steven (e) and Alder
(b/w)
6. The Following Trainer Classes are banned due to the wide range of variety: Ace Trainers, Elite 4, Champion, Rival, Gym Leader. ​

Hey, I'm interested in this challenge. I just have one question. Is there any way to like do a reverse search of what Bulbapedia has? I know a couple of Pokemon I'd want to use, but don't know which trainer classes use them. Also, I saw that Elite Four was one of the trainer classes. You should make a rule banning that class, because that's sort of unfair.

Edit: I think I'm going to go with Dragon Tamer. But, I'll be doing it in Silver, with the team of Kingdra and Dragonite. Is this okay? Dragon tamers have those Pokemon, but they're not introduced til 3rd gen.

This. I think you should limit which trainer classes are in this challenge, so scratch out Youngsters and Ace trainers 'cos they tend to use whatever, stick with bug catchers and swimmers etc. :P

Also Myrrhman that's fine you may use Dragon Tamer on that game because there's no restrictions for that so I'll sign you up.

I agree. Elite 4 members and Gym leaders are monotypers anyway. The only difference is that they tend to have fully evolved Pokemon or Pokemon with a 2nd typing. How is that different from the other classes? They're the same trainer classes on steroids. The only differences between the trainer classes are the types and/or egg groups most commonly used (and egg groups have Pokemon with various typings anyway).The only ones that should stay out of the challenge are Rivals, Champions, Red, Blue, & Cynthia.

She was removing classes like Ace Trainers that use a large number of different pokemon and do not have a "theme".

Trainer classes like the Elite Four obviously have the strongest of (usually) 5 different types, and sometimes the champion has some of the best Pokemon around in general.

The "theme" of Cooltrainers/Ace Trainers is that they cover types well/they are getting ready to fight the elite four. Obviously you would want really varied Pokemon for this.

You're allowed to use the Pokemon that every single Black Belt uses, if that's the class you choose. Its a trainer class challenge, not a specific trainer challenge.

Actually, it's a Black Belt not a Hiker, but the point still stands.

Blissy's Trainer Class Challenge! - Crystal Version
Chapter 1 - so It Begins!

I just downloaded the ROM, so let's start this! Good intro. I might like Crystal. I am a dude, so now Oak appears to ramble on about random crap that I don't care about. Now, my character is named Kobora, and let's get this started up. I got my Pokegear from my mom, and it's time to go to Elm's. Woah! Elm's lab looks different than in Silver Version! Super special awesome. Well...I'm getting my 1st pokemon...a Totodile. Now...on to Mr. Pokemon's House.

Mr. Pokemon gave me an egg, but Oak gave me a Pokedex. Now, on my way back to New Bark Town by seeing the awesomeness of Crystal Version, and strange, red haired guy came and battled me with a Chikorita. Weird, huh? Anyway, I'll head back to New Bark in the next part.

I started out with the girl sprite and named myself Meri.
I picked a Cyndaquil (it will never evolve = small and cute)
Did the side quest and could finally set out

My first caught pokémon will be hacked in.
It's Chansey! (pretty pink one)

I'll be sticking with the 2 of them for quite a while
My next member will be waiting for me in Ilex Forest

I beat the first Gym with ease, got the egg, hatched it and got the everstone
Gave the everstone to Cyndaquil so I wouldn't have to bother with the B-button all the time

[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Began Challenge at 10:00 AM on a beautiful Sunday morning.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]After getting my Pokegear back from the shop, I headed over to the lab to get a Chikorita.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Received the Pokemon Egg to take back to Elm, and got a strange call from the lab.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Defeated a mysterious trainer on the way home.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]After being interrogated by the officer, we all agreed his name was Peasant.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]On the way back to Cherygrove, I randomly found a Horsea in the grass. I caught it and named it Maelstrom.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I took a liking to the little guy, so the two of us trained in the grass before taking on the local trainers.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]We arrived in Violet City, and immediately began training in the local Gym. Barely getting past the first two trainers, we decided to train more before attempting to fight the Gym Leader.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Miraculously and slowly, we climbed to the top of the Sprout Tower, getting Flash from the Sage at the top.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Compared to the sages, Falkner was a piece of cake. After the battle, Elm called, wanting me to take the egg.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I received the egg, but wanting to spend more time with Maelstrom, I put its data in a computer for the time being.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I decided to catch a bird like Falkner, appreciating their grace in the air. I found a Pidgey nearby.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Somebody tried to sell me a Slowpoke for an outrageous sum of money. I refused, and he wasn't too happy about that.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I went through a cave, and soon found myself in Azalea Town.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I helped Kurt drive off Team Rocket from their Well, home to many Slowpoke.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Peasant was around, so we battled. I easily defeated him.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I heard the town had a Gym, so I went inside. It turned out to be a Bug Gym, and I soon had my second badge.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]To the west was a forest, where I helped a boy find a missing Farfetch'd. I was rewarded with HM01 and a piece of Charcoal.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Another young man in the forest gave me TM02, which let me Headbutt small trees to find Pokemon. I taught it to Maelstrom.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I quickly found out that it made a marvelous battling move as well. Soon, I was in a large city called Goldenrod.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Inside Goldenrod, I found a Game Corner, where you could trade coins in for moves and Pokemon. A small, blue Pokemon called Dratini caught my eye. Unfortunately it was way too expensive.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Hoping I would get enough money in the Gym, I challenged Whitney. When I beat her she started crying, but soon I was the proud owner of the Plainbadge.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I stopped by the Cycle Shop, and the man gave me a free bicycle. Unfortunately, I couldn't sell it for a Dratini. I also got a Squirtbottle from a lady that owned a flower shop. She advised me to squirt it on any trees blocking the path.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I hopped on over to the National Park to win more battles. I could tell I was getting close to that Dratini.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]On the other side of National Park were a few more trainers and a tree, just like the lady said. I squirted it and it attacked! Turns out it was actually a Pokemon.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]A child gave me a Magnet for defeating the Tree Pokemon. I then found myself in Ecruteak City.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I recognized that red hair from a mile away. Peasant was heading into a burned down tower. I followed him and beat him again. He stormed off, again.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I was tipped off that I could get a powerful move if I could beat these five dancers. Sure enough, an old man gave me Surf for putting on such a good show. I taught it to Maelstrom, puzzled by the physics of me standing on an 18 lb. seahorse.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I checked, and I had enough money for Dratini! I hustled back to Goldenrod to pick up my Pokemon. I nicknamed it Typhoon.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I bought another copy of the move that taught Headbutt in the Department Store nearby, which I taught to Typhoon.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I started training both of my Pokemon. Typhoon was hard to train, because it was below the level of most Pokemon it was facing. Maelstrom, on the other hand, was defeating every Pokemon in one hit with its new Surf move, and soon, it evolved into a Seadra!
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I decided that Surf was a move that all of my Pokemon deserved, so Typhoon learned it too!
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Trained all the way to Olivine, where I found Peasant. This time, he didn't want to fight, he only tipped me off that the Gym Leader wasn't in her Gym.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I went back and trained all the way to Mahogany, taking the caves. That Gym was blocked too.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Since the only place left to go was the Ecruteak Gym, I challenged Morty. Only using Surf in the entire Gym, I still managed to win. Typhoon took as much as it could, and Maelstrom cleaned up.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Now being able to use Surf in the field, I went back to Olivine and climbed the lighthouse, where the Gym Leader was rumored to be. She was helping a sick Pokemon, and asked me to go to the pharmacy across the ocean to get some medicine for it. Happy to help, I left for Cianwood.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I got the potion, and then thought "Since I'm already here, I might as well challenge the Gym".
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Unfortunately, you had to be able to lift a boulder to fight the Gym Leader. A move to let Pokemon able to do this was in Olivine, so I went back across the ocean.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I quickly found the move. Unfortunately, nobody on my team could learn it. I caught a coral Pokemon named Corsola who could.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Corsola and co. went back across the ocean to finally fight the Gym Leader. His name was Chuck, and he was a master of Fighting Pokemon. Typhoon had a new ability called Dragon Rage, and with it I easily wiped the floor.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]His wife stopped me outside, giving me the HM for Fly, saying that her husband needed to work out more, and as a result, they didn't need this move anymore. I thanked her and taught it to Pidgey.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]The return back to Olivine was much quicker. I ascended the Lighthouse and gave the medicine to Jasmine, who gave it to Ampharos.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]She returned to the Gym, where I could battle her. But, I wanted to train some first. See, I could plainly see that Typhoon was a lot larger than when I got him, so I figured he was about to evolve.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Sure enough, he evolved into a Dragonair while exploring around the ocean.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Satisfied, I challenged Jasmine. Typhoon barely hung on by the skin of his teeth and defeated her final Pokemon, earning me the Mineral Badge.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Heard a rumor about rampaging Dragon. Curious, I went to investigate the Lake of Rage.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Defeated the shiny red Gyarados, and then saw a man named Lance who wanted me to help him bring Team Rocket down.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I got lost in a maze of trees that ultimately put me at a house, where a man gave me a TM that "awakened my hidden power".
(Side Note: At this point, I used savestates to test Hidden Power types. Dragonair has a Ground Type, while Seadra has a Rock Type. I don't really like either of those as much as I liked the movesets I had planned, so no HP today.)
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]I entered a mysterious building in Mahogany to find Lance attacking a man with his Dragonite. He uncovered a secret staircase, and we descended.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]An alarm sounded, and two grunts came charging towards me, ready to fight. Typhoon made quick work of them.
[FONT=&quot]- [/FONT]Beat, I decided to call it a night. Not quite as far as I had hoped to get tonight, but it'll do. I'll finish up tomorrow.

And obviously baby pokémon are small and cute as well!
