Breezed through first half of game, forgot how ridiculously easy 2nd gen was. Very easy to grind in Victory Road from everyone being 40 to around 49 for everyone. Beat E4 first try. Poliwhirl was a champion whole way through. 8/16.

Red was, just like the rest of the game, a push-over. Literally nothing gave me much trouble other than Espeon. Took down my Gyarados and Feraligatr after they spammed Bite and Slowbro managed to finish it off with a Shadow Ball. Other than that, I was able to mostly 2-3HKO all of his Pokemon. Lanturn once again helped greatly considering it's STAB combo is amazing. Final Team:

Okay, so after spending more time than I'd care to admit soft resetting for a Jolly Snivy in my White version and breeding a ton of eggs in my Black 2 version to get a plausibly Modest Cottonee with Prankster, (I'm using rule #10 as an excuse for this. If that doesn't count in this case, I'm now using the loophole I'm allowed for congratulating the monotype challenge on its birthday) I'm finally ready for my first update.

I set off with Serpentina the Snivy. Blasted through it all. Arrived at Striaton City and had a bit of trouble at the gym, until Serpentina learned Growth. After that, she was unstoppable. After beating Chili, I chased off some Plasma grunts, and before I knew it, I was able to trade with my Black 2 version! So I traded in three eggs, and from the first one hatched Scotch the Cottonee - the Modest Prankster. I boxed the other two for life and set off to train Scotch. And this is more or less where I am now, just outside Striaton City. And here's my current team:

   OMG This battle was super hard especially since Pignite is a Fire/Ground in Blaze Black!
   It was a rotation battle and Cress sent out Squirtle, Totodile, and Oshawott.
   Starty was at level 18 and had Flame Charge, Magnitude, Tackle, and Ember.
   Squirtle used Aqua Jet and I used Magnitude. Bye Squirtle!
   Then, Cress sent out Piplup.
   I knew I was low on speed so I used Flame Charge on Totodile who used Aqua Jet on me.
   He rotated into Piplup, but I was faster because of Flame Charge's speed boost, so I used Magnitude. Bye Piplup!
   Then, Cress sent out Mudkip.
   He stayed with Mudkip, but I was faster and used Magnitude. Bye Mudkip!
   Then, Cress sent out Panpour.
   I knew that Totodile would use Aqua Jet on me (which is Physical) so I used an X Defend and I survived with 1 HP!
   I then used my fresh water and healed up Starty.
   Totodile used Aqua Jet and Stary was left with yellow HP, so I used Magnitude. Bye Totodile!
   Cress rotated into Oshawott, but i used Magnitude. Bye Oshawott!
   Then, it was just Starty and Panpour.
   Starty used Magnitude and Panpour used Water Gun and we were both left with red HP.
   We both healed up with a potion.
   Then I used Magnitude one last time. Bye Panpour!

EDIT: Got my Bulbasaur! I used the Potion method to raise Pikachu's happiness. I am now at the entrance of Rock Tunnel.

Hoenn (Emerald) - 4 Badges

Spoiler:

• Realized I forgot to clear out Cycling Road, so I go do that before taking on Mauville Gym.
• It's been a while since I did the gym, and I don't really remember the battle well. I believe this was Poplar's (breloom) time to shine, what with Headbutt and Mach Punch. Yeah, for sure Mach Punch against Magneton. I think Manectric paralyzed him, but Effect Spore paralyzed him right back. Also Mach Punch ignores the speed drop. So yeah, thanks to Poplar, we won the Dynamo Badge! ^-^
  
• Ugh, I need an HM Slave! After a bit a searching, I caught a Marill to teach Rock Smash and soon, Strength. With that, we head north around the desert D:, and make our way to Fallarbor. I also take the time to gather enough soot to make the Blue, Yellow, and Red Flutes.
• At Meteor Falls, we see both Team Aqua and Team Magma, and Archie and his goons give chase all the way to Mt. Chimney. Of course, we also go.
• I don't really remember the battle with Maxie. Guess it wasn't that crazy, though I don't think it was a curbstomp.
• I pick up the Meteorite, deliver it to Professor Cozmo, and battle the regular trainers at Mt. Chimney's peak before taking on the Lavaridge gym.
• Ouch, this gym! Flannery was an especially difficult battle! Numel and Slugma were easily taken care of, doing little against Cypress (lombre). Camerupt, though, was quite a pain to take down, seeing as it could take hits much better than the other two. Also, Sunny Day and Overheat... I switched out Cypress for Poplar, only to be immediately taken out by her first Overheat. >_< It's alright, I needed Cypress for my little plan. Eventually, Camerupt somehow went down, after using up one Hyper Potion. Finally, the dreaded Torkoal appeared. I believe I had Cypress steal the White Herb right away, using Thief. With the Red Flute, Attract was not as annoying as it was in my previous experiences. Cypress ended up fainting, but at least he weakened the Overheat. Willow (grovyle) was able to do some damage with Rock Tomb and a critical Leaf Blade. But I forgot about White Smoke and wasted a turn with Screech, and the paralysis from Body Slam was annoying at times. >_< I used a few healing items, and she used her second Hyper Potion before taking Willow down to 1 HP! I decided to revive Cypress, who eventually finished the battle with just 6 HP left. Phew! And thus, we won our hard-fought Heat Badge! ^-^
• Outside, May gives me the Go-Goggles. Yes! With this, two more pokémon should be joining the party next time!

• Hmm, Gardenia was not too difficult, actually. Starf (roselia) did this battle by herself. Against Turtwig, I started setting up Growths as it set up a Reflect. Surprisingly, she switched out for Roserade. We paralyzed each other with Stun Spore. Starf eventually got off six Growths, maximizing her Special Attack, and so we move on to attack mode. From here on, it was just a matter of spamming Mega Drain (or Giga Drain, if I had that already) until we won the Forest Badge! ^-^
  
  
• Now that we can use Cut outside of battle, I go visit another of my favorite locations, the Old Chateau. Yay! Unfortunately, I didn't see any of the human ghosts. At least we raided its rooms for items.
• I decide to do a bit of spelunking, so I head to the Underground and found lots of treasure, including what I was hoping for: a Meadow Plate!
• We clear out the grunts and scientist in the Eterna Galactic Building and find Jupiter at the top. I am wary about this battle. Buuuuut... with a little luck, my strategy worked just fine! I just had Salac (grotle) set up a few Curses while tanking Zubat's Wing Attacks. Then she tore it up. Skuntank was worrisome because its typing resists both Razor Leaf and Bite and because Night Slash has a high critical hit ratio (thus bypassing the Defense boosts from Curse). But no criticals, and Skuntank also falls.
• And with that, we get a Bike! Woohoo! ^-^ We ride down Cycling Road (that's two Cycling Road updates in one post!) and take a rest at Oreburgh. I decide to skip the Wayward Cave for now and just press on towards Hearthome. I take a walk with Salac at Amity Square sometime.
• Here, we meet our fourth team member: Aguav the eevee. I return to Eterna Forest in order to evolve him into leafeon and proceed to teach him Bullet Seed.
• With Aguav tagging along, now we visit the Wayward Cave so as to take advantage of Mira's healing to do a bit of training. With everyone at Level 30 (it didn't take much, as most of the team was like 28 or 29 by this point), we move on to the gym.
• Ah, the Hearthome gym. Fantina is the toughest gym leader in this run as of yet. I don't remember much, but I remember Mismagius being quite a pain. I think Starf was able to tank a few Psybeams and finished the battle. The team was a bit battered after the battle, but we did win the Relic Badge! ^-^
  
  
• And Barry wants to battle. Sure. Salac's usual strategy of Curse (and Quick Claw) made this battle a cinch. We set up six Curses against Staravia (+5 to Attack, because Intimidate), who gets up several Double Teams. Wing Attack doesn't do much damage though, and we get a Bite through, so that's a OHKO. Monferno? Quick Claw, Razor Leaf, OHKO. Roselia? Quick Claw, Bite, OHKO. Buizel got in some damage with Water Gun or something, but another OHKO for us. And that's it! ^-^
• Ah, Route 208 and its nice, peaceful music. I catch two chansey in the hopes of scoring a Lucky Egg, but no luck. I also catch a hoothoot and bibarel for HMs. It might not necessarily be from this exact route that this happened, but whatever.
• We reach Solaceon, visit the Ruins and pick up Defog (taught to Hoothoot). With that, I return to the Lost Tower on Route 209 to get Strength, I think it was. Might've taught that to Geodude. Anyways, we move on through the rainy route and end up in Veilstone.
• Checked out the city and met Crasher Wake coming out of Maylene's gym. We leave Veilstone from the southern exit and explore the route, as well as the resort. Eventually, we get to Pastoria.
• I check out the Great Marsh and run into several carnivine. Finally, after many, many tries, I catch one, and so Babiri joins the team as the fifth member! ^-^
• We explore the route west of Pastoria and return full circle to Hearthome. Now that all that is taken care of, it's time to hit the Veilstone Gym!
• Maylene wasn't too difficult, but an unlucky crit from Lucario's Drain Punch bypassed Babiri's Stockpile (after being able to set that up against Meditite), so we lost her that battle. So in revenge, Salac comes out and sends off an Earthquake (oh yeah, she evolved into a torterra sometime during exploration!) for a OHKO. Machoke also met with a similar fate. And that's our fourth badge, the Cobble Badge! ^-^
• Outside the gym, Dawn wants us to help her get her 'dex back from some Galactic grunts. So I guess that's what we'll be doing next time.
