Hey guys, I read yesterday there were
still open positions for this RP and the instructions said to post here first, so I would like to sign-up, if possible.
Mira, if you can send me the summary offered at the 1st post I would be glad, to make sure I have not missed something (I've read some parts, in particular the last three pages of the RP).
I have taken a liking towards RP'ing, as it helps me improve my writing skills (I'm doing fanfiction), in particular conversational English which I lack at. Also it helps me improving on writing battles when I have the chance, as I like to do them.
Oh, here's my sheet.

Sign Up: Trainer
Name: Rigel Kann
Age: 16 (recently)
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Rigel is a kid just average height for his age, and although he is just a bit bulky, he has worked his muscles to compensaate for it, developing strength in his arms and back. His tan skin and minor scarring in his face make it clear he has been in the open for some time. His hazel eyes and short nose are the brands of his face, both attributes he inherited from his mother, whereas his short, well combed auburn hair, almost following a military cut, makes him easily recognisable in parties, and is one of the "two good things" he inherited from his father.
Coming from an adventurer family, Rigel prefers khaki trousers or blue-coloured shorts, and unnecked t-shirts with dominant green or brown colours for a dresscode. When he uses trousers, he backs them up with a black belt, and when he wears shorts he further ornaments himself with a stra from a ripped off yellow shirt, which he wraps on his right leg, for no apparent reason. He has a hat from his father, which he uses only when sunlight is very strong, and thick boots, adequate for the harshness of terrains.
Personality:
Faithful, careful and reluctant to judge, are the first words that came to mind among people who have known Rigel from some time. Despite appearing to be lazy, he is actually always listening to his surroundings, searching for clues as to what to do next. He has a firm belief that "life" itself is trying to guide him towards higher goals via the application of his family traits: a bloodline of treasure hunters, private eyes (father's line) and ruin guarders.
When confronted with a troubling situation, Rigel is eager to make a quick, swift, and clear first motion to approach the problem. If the solution seems to be partial, or if the situation further escalates, Rigel take small steps every time, with increasing decision and strength, as he gathers information, forms an strong opinion, and decides what he thinks is the best definite solution. He is not very prone to change his mind once his perception about a particular matter is set.
Rigel's mind is not devoid of quirks, however. He is afraid of flying (not of heights per se), and due to his continous escapades and searchings, he is very prone to put himself first in the line of danger. Also, due to his lifestyle he has trouble switching from daysleep to active nights, and has to fight the inner demons that roam his mind most of the time in solitude, as they scream to him the situation of his family, his Pokémon, and he himself if he ever gets caught. Due to this he has become harsh, a bit grudgier, and a bit violent towards other people.
One particular trait of his personality is that, coming from a long line of adventurers, he enjoys to boast about his parents or ancestors' adventures when he has the chance, but, to a complete opossite, he won't boast or gloat about his own adventures and explorations, no matter how successful have they been. This may be a projection of a perceived, and ever growing, loss of confidence towards his own persona.
Background:
Rigel was born in Hearthorne, Sinnoh, but his family moved to Katsu when he was just three. He has henceforth made the memories of his life mostly from this region. When he was ten, he started his Pokémon Journey pretty much like every other kid had, but he noticed the increasing tension in the air when a mysterious criminal team surfaced and a small war was waged to bring them down. After that, everything changed.
In just a couple of months, Pokémon training became an inexcusable fault which would led to the extraction, and possibly termination, of a Pokémon, and the incarceration of the owner. The situation regarding Pokémon was so stiff that even police officers were depreved of Pokémon help most of the time, leading to higher crime rates in the city; thus, Rigel and his family moved to a small village to the east of the region. The tranquility, however, was pretty short lived.
As soon as he turned 14, he learned that the medical condition of her elder sister, who suffered from an advanced form of Aniridia (a congenital condition that leads to loss of eyesight and some cancerigenous development), had taken a rapid turn for the worse, with mental deterioration as well. Her condition would be even further deteriorated when all laboratories refused to continue research upon the proposed cure because it involved heavy study of Poison-type Pokémon. Rigel fully understood the situation when one of his neighbors was accidentally killed by LEOs while trying to smuggle in a curative Pokémon for the town's plants.
Rigel took his loyal partner Fudoah, and three other Pokémon he had captured during his journeys, and escaped the day before his town was issued for inspection, to the ample and desolated eastern sections of the Katsu region, trying to follow his sister's treatment from afar. In short term no solution was found except for moving her to a medical center in Sinnoh, and he decided to stay behind as his family escaped the region, as he felt his life was wrongfully being taken away from him, and wanted to find and punish a culprit, if there was one.
After some time in hiding he heard stories about an underground group who called themselved "
The Uprising". He thought several times of joining, but he did not how far were they willing to go in their rebellion. And most importantly, who they were or how to find them...
That was until the last week, when he heard strong rumours about the "Uprising" near town, and he decided that he would try to trail the group himself instead. It was his best and only shot: to hope that the group was skilled enough to detect him, "capture" and welcome him, before he would get lost in the wilderness of the region, or worse, caged and deprived of his partners forever.
Additional Information:
Rigel comes from a family that for years has dedicated to the studies of ruins, old paths and trails, and the lost history of cities. Since childhood Rigel has been taught the basics of trailing, watching, excavation and hunting. His father managed to teach him the most simplest concepts about Architecture and Nursery before the family was split. Initially expecting to become a watcher or even a Ranger, now he uses his skills to hide his traces, as well as gain control of abandoned locations and left-by materials.
He also has minor yet acknowledged proficency in the use of handicraft tools.
With regards to a more normal life-style, he pukes at the idea of dressing formally. He enjoys the sunlight the spring season, exploration, parties and team sports. As for food, meat and bread, and, since he had the chance to try at a family convention, red wine. He dislikes people who uses contact lenses, masks, or carets, as he does not know if they are being true to themselves.

Lifted from one of my latest appearances in "
Hero of the Day":
It didn't take much for Tobias to reach Autumn and Rusell on their way. Tobias kept a couple of steps behind them, watching Ciabet carefully. The Pokémon was havin a good time walking the road and inspecting some trees and patches of grass, from which fortunately no wild Pokémon came out to try and attack them. Chikorita was having some fun too, a couple of steps in front of them.
For Tobias, the best part was walking. As he did, his hands behind his head, he watched as some Pidgeys flew by, very low and almost crashing straight into the others' heads. "Well, it would pretty much ruin the fun if I take out a Poké Ball and start hunting for a Pidgey now..." thought Tobias, as he heard Rusell mumble something about time management. One of the Pidgeys passed right over him and dived close to the road. As Ciabet started running towards the patch of grass where the Pidgey had lay hidden, Tobias caled him back. The mood was just too good to ruining it by hunting wild Pidgeys.
"I promise," explained Tobias to his Pokémon, "that once we get to the city, we'll find some Pokémon to fight against. Right?"
Bulbasaur nodded and turned to follow his trainer again, and Tobias veily smiled: he wanted to go for a Pokémon too, but he knew he could find better specimens once the group headed to the Viridian Forest.
Suddenly, Autumn called back to Tobias: "So what are you looking forward to most?"
"Look for?" Tobias held his chin while thinking about an appropiate answer. He had already made up his goals for this journey, but they would take time. He decided to settle for something simpler and more enjoyable for the moment.
"Well... I've never been into Viridian Forest." he said, his sight wandering in the sky. "They say it is a wonderful nature maze where one can find all kinds of Pokémon. I'd really like to visit that place." After that he lowered his head and grinned, adding: "And, after that, find the closest Gym and teach the leader where in the map is my town."
As he said that, he approached the other trainers and lined up with them, to Rusell's left, noticing how he was checking a map and marking specific spots. "And you?" asked Tobias, slightly leaning forwards to better see the map. "What do you have that map for?"
Sign Up: Pokémon (optional: you can write from your Pokémon's point of view as well)
I most likely won't but that doen't mean they won't be developed. So here they are. As requested, no Eeves or *eons.
Number #1
Nickname: Fudoah
Breed: Grotle
Gender: male
Moves: Tackle, Withdraw, Absorb and Cut
Appearance: just your everyday Grotle, ableit with a strong, commanding voice and a very strong and clean shell courtesy of a careful diet by his Trainer.
Personality: being Rigel's starter,
Fudoah has taken onsome of his habits, in particular the eagerness to take any shortcut or trail to find where it leads to, which often leads to conflict when Trainer and Pokémon come upon a crossroad. Although his senses are not as heightened as, let's say, a Scyther, Grotle takes pride in trying and sensing his whereabouts in search of footprints, fossils, or any other marks.
History: As a Turtwig, it was the first Pokémon Rigel ever had. He took it from the local Professor while other two kids were fighting over a Chimchar, and he felt lucky that he did.
Additional information: the name "Fudoah" he earned after it evolved. It is an adaption of an old Zulu word, and can be roughly translated as "
Tortoise of the Meadow". Also, he tried for some time to learn the move BulletSeed, but failed to do miserably because of his eagerness and exasperation.
Number #2
Nickname: Noini
Breed: Corpish
Gender: female
Moves: Bubblebeam, Taunt, Vicegrip and Harden
Appearance: Noini is a Corpish, a crab-like creature which in its ntural condition has a redish shell. However, Noini's shell has a slightly purple-ish taint because of the chemicals poured into the water in the area she was born.
Personality: Noini is a bragging Pokémon, cvery feisty when claiming victory and very serious upon a loss. She is also a bit naggy when not in battle. She has an ongoing feud with her Trainer's Gyarados for the title of being the Team's Water Pokémon.
History: Born and caught at the same beach, Noini's horizons have expanded after capture. However, she does not actually like to travel, staying in the team purely for the fight.
Additional information: despite people's claims to the contrary, the unnatural coloration of her shell does
not give her special powers or anything of that sort. In fact, it is an oft-ocurring condition in the beach where she used to live.
Number #3
Nickname: Clever
Breed: Natu
Gender: unconfirmed (see history)
Moves: Peck, Night Shade, Hidden Power (Bug) and Teleport (in training, not yet perfected)
Appearance: Clever is a relatively young Natu. It's left wing short plummage is marked by the bite of a strong Growlithe, which makes it appear shorter than the right wing.
Personality: Clever is a recent addition to Rigel's team, and is very calm and lazy, often having to be pulled into battle by Fudoah. Also it is afraid of dog-like Pokémon due to a nasty bite. Due to its history, it has not bond with its Trainer yet: a clear proof is that Rigel does not even know its gender or age.
History: Clever was a recent addition to Rigel's Team, captured during his first trip back home after learning of her sister's situation. Rigel did not actually intend on keeping Clever for long. Instead, he planned to trade it with a friend for one of his Pokémon, probably a Pikachu or a Shieldon... but ever since Pokémon and Trainers began to be actively hunted, Rigel does not know what to do with the bird Pokémon. Despite the potential of being a cornerstone f the team due to its psychic abilities, Rigel is reluctant to make friends with this Pokémon and, most of the time, only lets it out for battles and healing.
Additional information: in training of Teleport.
Number #4
Nickname: Rauba
Breed: Gyarados
Gender: female
Moves: Bite, Dragon Rage, Twister, Aqua Tail
Appearance: Rauba has beautiful white barbers, as all female Gyarados, vividly coulured dorsal fins, and bloodshot red eyes. Her relatively short body length reveals her young age.
Personality: Being a part of the team for very long, Rauba is very attached to Rigel, and is obedient of his comands yet proud and bitter enough to make it apparent she fights on her own. For some time, Noini has been poking on her in a struggle for the role as Rigel's preferred Water Pokémon, which has caused Rauba to lost her nerve a couple of times. Rauba enjoys the action and never plays hide-and-seek games in battle, and deems herself too bold to go around evading attacks, both traits which unfortunately makes her a somewhat predictable and easy to target opponent in battle.
History: Rauba was caught as a Magikarp along with several other of her kind in some sort of contest Rigel took part in. Her life as a Magikarp was short-lived, as she quickly evolved into a Gyarados. When Pokémon and Trainers underwent active pursue, Rauba, who already had a slight understanding of the situation, as eager to join Rigel and Fudoah in their travel.
Additional information: Rauba acts as Rigel's main transport on water (surfing) and as his post, allowing him to reach high places for both tracking and seeking.

Sorry if it is too long, it's a trait of me and something I can't seem to be able to rid off... :D
