The Uprising: Fighting the Pokémon Extermination

"Go, Alex, go! Tock and Raichu are in trouble!" The Pidgeot let out a large shriek and from his beak, dropped large blobs of dangerously poisonous goop. His aim went well, dropping the Toxic onto the enemy, person and Pokémon alike. Josh looked over Alex's wings, only to see Tock and Raichu surrounded by Pokémon. Thinking quickly he pulled 2 balls off his bracelette, Stone and Lee, and released them as he passed overhead, right next to the two down below.

<Chyeaaah! Let's get this over with!> Stone roared. He stamped on the ground, firing off a flurry of Shockwaves, Water Pulses and Metal Bursts. Although being the clumsy Lairon that he is, he was careful only to hit the surrounding Pokémon, and at full boar too. Lee said nothing, but his face said it all. He was raged and cried hard, his Magical Leaf spraying everywhere, cutting anything PXS he could touch.

"Don't hold back guys!" Josh cried out to them, passing over again, as Alex let off another wave of Toxics.

Ashi and her team bashed their way through the crowd, all of them teaming up on one PXS member as they went. Usually, once the trainer was down, the Pokémon would make a run for it, unsure what to do next. If they were loyal to the trainer and could attack with their heads, Ashi and her team would just pummel them down anyways.

"THIS IS FOR WHAT YOU TOOK AWAY FROM ME!" Ashi roared, her Pokémon screaming alongside of her. The triamphant and painful cries were all so loud, so loud as if there was no sound at all.

"I HATE YOU. I HATE YOU ALL!"

The PXS soldier stumbled back in the snow, ignoring his injured Magmortar as his priorities shifted to self-preservation. "Please man! I didn't ask for this! It's just a job! I used to be a soldier!" Yassan thought briefly for a moment: Isabel wasn't here, he could get away with whatever he wanted to. "Well, if you're a soldier, then you'll understand what I'm about to do. Tyranitar!" The man emitted a banshee shriek and lunged at Yassan with a combat knife, it's razored edge leaping towards his chest with the serrated back close behind.

Yassan moved to the left and grabbed the soldier's wrist, then bent it roughly at an angle that nature never intended for it to bend. The soldier screamed, and Yassan kicked him clumsily in the face and pried the knife out his hand and tossed it in the snow. The soldier choked back tears and attempted to rise, but recieved a more perfect kick for his trouble. "Tyranitar, Hyper Beam!" Within moments the soldier was little more then a torso, as he had attempted to run and had lept when he should have ducked. Yassan yanked off the man's bandolier and began inspecting the pokeballs strapped to the leather. These weren't you're regular store-bought variety or the military models he had. These were composed thin black metal that radiated out from the back, coming leaving several slits where glowing radioactive energy was visible. "Hmm. Waste not, want not. Magmortar, return!" And he and Tyranitar walked off back onto the battlefield. Turning, Yassan spat on the PXS soldier's corpse. "It's a just a job. Idiot."

"Move it, already! Pick up the pace!"

His head was throbbing. The soldier was shouting at him viciously, same as he'd been doing for the last three days. He longed to retort, but he knew it would be pointless.

"Well?! Don't just stand there!! The attack's started! Get out there and do your job! Or would you rather end up like your friend?"

He remembered Carter's screams as the men dragged him away. He didn't know what they'd done to him. He wasn't sure he WANTED to know.

But, still. These were just kids. Even at the risk of his own life, could he really kill children...?

"The hell are you DOING?! Enemy! look alive!"

He saw a small Pikachu standing in front of him. She was eyeing him, a curious look on her face.

He had no choice. It was kill or be killed. He took aim, and launched a quick Poison Sting. He looked away; he couldn't bear to look...

"What's wrong with you?! HIT IT, ALREADY, YOU WORTHLESS LITTLE...!!"

He looked up and saw, to his astonishment, that the Pikachu was roughly three feet from where she had been before, though she was otherwise still in the same pose. She almost seemed to be smiling at him.

He had one more option. He readied a Pin Missile. He would spray the area with needles; she had no chance of dodging this one. He fought a gag, and readied himself...

<What are you doing?>

He stumbled for a moment. The Pika was...talking to him?

<Please...I can't->

<What?>

<Look, I...I don't have a choice, okay?! Just...just, die...>

<Why don't you have a choice?>

Was she stupid or something? He couldn't believe what was happening. She was taunting him.

<Are you blind?! Don't you GET IT?! I have to fight, or else->

<-or else what?>

<OR ELSE THEY'LL KILL ME!! WHY DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!?!>

<Who will?>

He was starting to lose it.

<MY...! My...my...trainer...I...don't have a...>

<...a choice?> She gave an exasperated shrug. <Did you think I kept up this conversation just to annoy you or something?>

<Wh-what are you->

<Did you never even once wonder why your trainer isn't yelling at you anymore?>

He froze. Realization, and a faint glimmer of hope. He dared himself to turn around...

There, on the ground, was the man. The snow around him was stained red; his Pokeball lie smashed in the snow near him.

He felt a chill run through him. He didn't believe his eyes. If he hadn't been so surprised, he might've noticed the vague shape disappearing into the whiteness.

<You're welcome.>

He did a one-eighty, but the voice, and the Pika it had come from, had vanished.

The Pika had saved him. It was a miracle.

He was free.

Slash kept a close eye on Paul as he moved across the battle field, selecting his next target. He wasn't yet strong enough to take on the PXS Pokemon but he could pick off the weak ones. So that's what he was doing, he move towards his prey, a Sandslash that was half frozen. As Slash approached the Sandslash fired a poison sting at him but Slash had already used double team and the dart missed the real Slash. The Sandslash turned and tried to flee but Slash used pursuit. He chased the Sandslash down and slammed in to it as he over took it. He turned to face the Sandslash. Slash turned and with out stopping hit the Sandslash, it collapsed in a heap on the ground. Slash turned round to face Paul, Paul was in trouble.

_

The ground rumbled as the Rhyhorn ran towards Paul and Bolt, the shaking alerted Paul and he jumped out of the way of the oncoming attack. Paul stumbled as he landed and fell to the ground. A man walked over to him and pulled something from his belt. The man brought the object down towards Paul's head, instinctively Paul raised his arms to protect his head. A sharp burning sensation spread across Paul's right forearm. He saw flash of sunlight reflected on a silver surface, a knife, it lasted a split second and then the man brought the object down again. He felt a similar sensation in his left arm, he kicked out at the man but it missed, the man laughed and continued his attack. He drove the knife downwards at Paul again, slicing his outer forearm again. Paul felt something trickle down his arms, blood, am I hurt. Paul saw something in his peripheral vision, a blurred shape approaching the man. The man was thrown backwards and Paul saw Slash, panting, out of breath.

_

There was a man standing over Paul he had a knife in his hand. Slash moved quickly to intervene, he ran across, past Bolt fighting a Rhyhorn.

"Can you help here?" Bolt asked as Slash dashed past.

"Sorry, I've got to stop Paul getting killed." Slash replied. The man was slashing down at Paul with the knife, Slash could see where Paul had already been cut on his forearms. In one movement Slash ripped the man away from Paul, then he just stood their panting to recover from the sprint that he had just done to get here. Slash faced the man and was surprised the man was still standing, he had just slashed straight across the man's torso, he should be bleeding and in pain.

As if to answer Slash's question the man said "Bullet proof vest." The man circled Slash, the knife in his right hand, ready to lunge at him with a stabbing attack. Slash just kept facing the man as he circled him. Then the man lunged at Slash, the blade shot towards Slash's body. Slash swept his right scythe in a circular motion, blocking the attack. The man fell to the floor clutching his arm. Paul watched the man fall and for a second didn't realise what had happened, then it hit him, instead of blocking the knife Slash had blocked the man's hand and had cut it off in doing so.

"Slash you can stop now." Paul shouted at Slash frightened of what he might do next. But Slash chose to ignore Paul he lifted one scythe high in to the air and brought it down on the back of the man's neck. Paul couldn't watch, he covered his eyes as the scythe came down and started to count.

"One, two, three, four, five." No sound interrupted Paul's counting except a dull thud of something landing on snow. At five Paul opened and uncovered his eyes.

_

Bolt dodged at the last second and attempted to bite the Rhyhorn, but her teeth had little effect on the other Pokemon. It shook her off, throwing her in to the air but she landed lightly on her feet. She held her head up and howled before jumping at the Rhyhorn again, she was a lot weaker than the Rhyhorn but it was startled by her aggression and backed away slightly. Then it attempted to charge her, she dodged and spotted Slash running by.

"Can you help here?" She asked.

"Sorry, I've got to stop Paul getting killed." Slash replied as he ran by. Bolt turned to face the Rhyhorn again and was hit by it charging straight at her. She got up and shook snow from her fur. Then she leapt at it in an attempt to bite it but ended up with a mouth full of snow. Where had it gone? Bolt looked round to see Paul holding a Pokeball in one hand and a knife in the other.

_

Paul picked up the knife that had landed not far away in the snow. The he walked over to Slash and the dead man. He took the one Pokeball the man had had from his belt.

"Return." He said pointing the ball in the direction of the Rhyhorn. "Slash you really didn't have to kill him you know." Slash didn't even look at him he just stared off into the distance and shrugged.

"So you don't mind that you killed that man?" Paul shouted at Slash, who turned his head and then walked off to join the battle again. Paul let him go it was better than staying angry with him at a time like this. Bolt walked over Paul stroked her.

"Come on lets get moving." Paul said to her and started to walk away but he was stopped by someone shouting his name.

"Paul." Paul turned round to see Sue running towards him, he stopped and waited for her to catch up. "Here let me look at you." She said grabbing his arm, turning it over and rolling his sleeve up to inspect the wounds.

"Ouch! That hurts!" Paul said pulling his arm away from Sue.

"You've got to let me look at them." Sue said placing her hands on her hips and giving Paul a stubborn face. Paul held his arm out so she could look at it. "Thank you." Sue said as she began to look at his arm. She inspected both arms and then looked at Paul. "Well the cuts aren't deep so you should be ok but you should bandage them up any way. Come back to the wall, we'll be safer there, and let me sort you out."

Paul looked at her and then said to Bolt "Go, help Slash, I'll be fine with Sue." Bolt looked at Sue and then walked off. Paul turned to Sue who had already set off he ran to catch her up. Paul didn't say anything on the way over to the wall, but took the knife out and looked at it. The blade was about six inches long and it was still covered in blood, Paul wiped the blood off and continued to examine the knife, it was curved at the tip and had a small serrated section about half way down. Paul put the knife away and took out the Pokeball. The upper half was a green and brown camouflage design while the lower half was white.

When there reached the wall Sue began to bandage Paul's arms.

The Pidgeotto was still coming after Sar, seeming determined to scratch her eyes out. She winced at the image and kept pushing herself to keep going. She shot at somebody in a PXS uniform who was going to order a Camerupt to charge at somebody's unprotected back. She missed his shoulder, instead hitting him squarely in the back. Sar bit her lip, looking away. She was an idiot. PXS were trying to take Pokemon away from her. Liars, cheaters, backstabbing, cruel monsters. They were, after all, just human.

Sar stumbled on something. When she looked down to see what it was, she felt sickened. It was a hand. A hand that wasn't connected to a body. She lifted her gaze a little and spotted the body to which it probably belonged. PXS. She felt a little relieved. It didn't belong to the Uprising; a group of teenagers trying to do what they thought was right. Most of them probably believed that they could be heroes. Naive, yes, but they were fighting for Pokemon and for freedom.

A triumphant screech brought her back to reality. The Pokemon was hurtling towards her, a feral glint in its eyes. Sar couldn't think. Her arm swung up automatically, and fired the gun. It squawked in pain and tried to keep in the air. The bullet had gone straight through a wing, causing it to flail and fall onto the ground. She stared at the form, bile rising in her mouth. She only heard the Arcanine's roar in time to dodge the Flamethrower that shot her way. Rolling away from the blast of heat, Sar ducked behind a truck and tried to get her breath back.

Stone, Alex and Lee had dropped in to help them. Raichu's spirits lifted as he thought about his new friends. Then he thought about his old "friends", one of which was now staring at him. The Purugly might not look it, but he was one fast and slippery furball.

<Say, You, you could never beat me in a fight. You tried before, remember. Great day, wasn't it, You?> Stan called him 'You' as a mocking title. After all, that was pretty much what his own trainer had called him.

Raichu didn't answer but sparked angrily from his cheek-pouches. They were participating in a stand-off amidst the confusion, chaos and agony of war. Tock, seeing this, rolled her eyes. She clicked her beak angrily at their over dramatic non-battle and used Confusion on Stan, lifting him suddenly into the air and throwing him off to collide with the Fearow which had been preparing a Drill Peck for Alex. Raichu blinked bemusedly, the sparks going out.

The Golbat, unaffected by Toxic and managing to dodge the Lairon's attacks, swooped down to use a Poison Fang on Tock, only to get electrocuted by Raichu. The battle was turning into one complicated melee, where you couldn't move for attacks. Raichu stared at the unconcerned Tock before being hit on the back by a Shelgon's Headbutt. The Shelgon then proceeded to fall asleep as it was hit by Tock's hypnosis. Raichu Volt Tackled it into one of Stone's Metal Bursts.

It was one heck of a battle.

Burr dodged a trampling by a heavy, rock-type Pokemon. Again. He wondered if PXS just really liked Rhyhorns and Gravellers, or if he was just a great target for them. whatever it was, he did not want to battle them head-on, and not just because they could squish him in one massive foot.

The smells were driving him mad, though. Especially the smell of blood which he couldn't get rid of. his fur was matted in it, his teeth coated in red. He sunk his buck teeth into another PXS member, right into their brains. When your teeth were stronger than steel, a tin helmet wasn't very off-putting. Brains. They had a strong smell, too. And were always filled with blood. Burr would never kill a human with his teeth again, if he could help it. Unfortunately, in the circumstances...

Something big and hard slammed him into a tree. Looking up, he saw the boulders that joined together to form one large Onyx. If Burr could swear, he would have. The Rock Pokemon hated him. It bellowed, twisting so that it could see the Raticate. Its trainer was standing on its head, clutching at the spike on its forehead. It looked apologetic for a moment, but at its trainer's shout, swung its tail again.

Because he saw it coming, Burr managed to dodge the hit merely by ducking. He had to get to the thing's head. As the tail swung back, Burr pounced on it and began running along it. Sure, it wasn't the most original move ever, but it worked. The trainer was shouting angrily at the Onyx, but it just let the Raticate run up along its side. The human tried to draw a Pokeball but was too late. Burr pounced onto his face and knocked the helmet off before sinking his teeth into the guy's forehead.

<Thank you,> the Onyx rumbled as Burr pushed the body off. Burr nodded and hurried off. Freed at last, the Onyx bellowed and started swiping gleefully at the PXs members and several vehicles around it. The Uprising now had some very big help.

Knives once again clashed between Chris and the PXS member as the battle continued on. Blood from the cut on his face trickled down into his mouth, leaving a salty-iron taste. To make things worse, next to them his Pokémon fought battles against some PXS Pokémon. Now, Chris had to focus on their battles and give directions, as well as trying to stay alive. Sakura was fighting and struggling against a Golem, Dile dominating a Magmar, and Charizard was getting revenge against a Pinsir for earlier.

Suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Sakura knocked onto her back into the snow. The Golem she was against formed a nasty smirk on its face, the charged in for the kill.

Thinking fast, Chris pulled a Pokeball off of his belt and pointed it at the Pikachu."Sakura! Return!" In a flash of red, Sakura was pulled back into the ball, and out of the way of the Golem. Although she was probably going to shock Chris into next week for being taken out of the battle when he next saw her, he took some satisfaction in that she would be safe. Chris placed her Pokeball back onto her belt and pulled off another. "Alright, Ivy! You're-" He stopped in mid-sentence to stop an oncoming attack from the PXS solider, dropping Ivy's ball in the process. Much to his relief however, Ivy's ball miraculously managed to open once it hit the ground, throwing the Pokémon straight into the battle."Use Vine Whip!" Chris yelled, successfully parrying another stab from the PXS member.

Ivy immediately complied, completely wrapping the Golem in her vines before slamming it into the ground.

Before Chris had a chance to even say a word to the Ivysaur or any of his other Pokémon, the PXS member lunged at him, knocking into the snow and pinning him down. Chris struggled to get the man off of him, but to no avail. His sheer weight pushed Chris against the cold earth. The man placed his hands onto Chris' wrists, causing him to let go of his knife. With Chris now immobile, the PXS member grabbed Chris' knife from where it fell.

"Thanks for the souvenir, kid." The PXS member smirked

Chris' eyes widened. "There's... There's no way."

For the first time in the battle, Chris got a decent look at his opponent. The man was 6' 4'' with a thin blonde beard. A thin scar ran down the side of his face. Without a doubt, this was the bounty hunter that had kidnapped Chris in Crystal City.

"Surprised?" he smirked, flipping the knife in his hand.

"Yeah. Wouldn't think you'd become a dog of the PXS." Chris choked out, a thin bead of sweat running down the side of his face.

The Hunter shrugged. "Why not? Pay's good, free meals, and I get to kick you're sorry asses all day. "He brought the knife down to Chris' throat, so that its jagged edge dug slightly into his skin. "And now, I get to have some revenge."

A sickly grin fell across the Hunter's face as Chris closed his eyes. Suddenly, the weight of the bounty hunter was lifted from his chest and a scream filled the air. Chris' eyes shot open to reveal Dile standing next to him, his tail glowing a deep blue. Behind him, the Magmar he was fighting lay defeated in the snow, not moving. Chris wearily looked around his surroundings. A few feet away, the PXS Bounty Hunter was on his hands and knees coughing up blood. The man attempted to get back up, but ended up falling flat onto his face.

"Thanks, Dile." Chris solemnly said, giving the Pokémon a quick scratch on the head before picking his knife up off of the ground. The Totodile tilted his head sideways, confused about the lack of praise even though he had just saved Chris' life. "Sorry Dile." Chris said, noticing this. "But…" Chris looked down at the knife in his hand. A drop of his blood fell off the blade and into the snow. He placed the blade back on his belt, reaching back and grabbing the rifle off of his back.

Chris slowly approached the hunter with the gun in his hand, and slowly pulled the bolt back. When he was about a foot away from the bounty hunter, he brought the scope up to his eye, aimed for the PXS hunter's head, and pulled the trigger.

However, instead of the resounding bang Chris was expecting, he was only rewarded with a soft 'click'. Both Chris and the bounty hunter looked up in confusion as a silence fell over both of them. Thinking quickly, Chris opened up the chamber of the rifle, only to find that the cartridge was empty. <Damn old man…> Chris silently cursed <…Forgot to give me ammo…>

All of a sudden, the silence was broken by a deranged laugh from the hunter. "You can't even work a gun. What kind of sorry excuse for a solder doesn't even have bullets!?"
To this, Chris flipped the gun around, holding it by the barrel, and swung it Baseball style towards the hunter's face. The bounty hunter finished his laugh, turning to Chris just in time to get hit square in the forehead. The hunter's neck snapped backwards, and he fell face first into the snow.

"Bullets are over-rated anyways." Chris grinned, putting the gun back onto his back. All of his Pokémon fell in behind him, which Chris took on as a sign that their opponents were defeated. "Good job guys." Chris said, nodding to each Pokémon then surveying the battlefield. "One down, only a hundred more to go."

(OOC: Wow. I got to stop writing posts while watching old-action movies; the bad puns are killing me.)

They rendezvoused on the edge of the field. Matsuko came charging up, out of breath; Kij was already there, surveying the battle field. He stood up as she approached.

"Matsu, there you-"

He was interrupted by a painful shock that knocked him off his feet.

<Stay down, you idiot!>

"O-O-Ow! Right, s-sorry..."

<Don't start making careless mistakes now! If you get yourself killed, I'll never forgive you!>

"Noted." The pain subsided, and he got up slowly, making sure to stay low. "How are we doing?"

She started counting on her paws. <That's...seven taken out, and four Pokémon freed.>

"Hmm...that's not very good..."

<Well, what do you expect? Progress is slow.>

Kij sighed loudly. "This isn't working. We've barely put a dent in their ranks. Isn't there another way?"

<As I recall, this was YOUR plan...>

"Well, that doesn't mean I'm the only one who has to think!"

<Excuse me?>

"Well...you've got a brain, don''t you? Why not use it for once?"

<...>

He knew he'd pay for that jibe later, probably with yet another violent electrocution. But, he had a point; at this rate, the battle would take days, and time was one thing he couldn't afford to waste.

"Er...Matsu?"

<...>

Her silence was unnerving. He decided to intervene.

"Well, for now, let's just stick with the old plan. At least until a better one comes up."

Whoops. That wasn't supposed to sound insulting...

Matsu had a very good memory. This might just buy him time, but once the battle was over, he was in for the shocking of a lifetime. Just one of the dangers of having a Pikachu for a companion...

King and Krow were holding their own out there, with minor damages. It looked like they could continue.

But for how long?

"Krow, pick off any airborn stragglers. Keep the skies clear as possible!"

"Kroowwww!" he called, before ramming into a fatigued Fearow and pecking at it.

King, on the other hand, couldn't be seen,

"King?" Greg called out, "King?! KING?!" Something terrible could have happened. But King was a strong big fellow: it would take a lot to bring him down.

"Here's one!" he then heard, "Heracross! Pummel him!"

Greg span round, almost slipping on the snow covered ground, to see a PXS soldier standing infront of a rather bulky looking Heracross. Parts of it's shell were scarred or slightly cracked in places. Basically, it looked experienced. And tough...

"Horn Attack!" the man shouted. The Heracross unveiled it's wings and darted towards Greg at a dangerous speed. Greg flinched before he felt shuffling in his bag. A white light poured out to the battlefield and there stood Blade who, with an agressive look, slammed Heracross into the icy dirt with a downward Leaf Blade.

"Hecrooaahh!!" the pokemon cried, hurting from the impact athough Leaf Blade wasn't an effective move. Blade turned to Greg and grinned, then nodded assertively.

"Wow Blade." Greg said to him, "You freed yourself from the ball to- to help me?" Unusual, seeing as Greg only picked up Blade yesterday. "Thanks..." he said with a smile.

What he never noticed was the Heracross getting up and getting ready to charge at Blade,

"Sneaky move kid!" uttered the PXS man, "Megahorn that overgrown gekko Heracross!"

"Cro!" the pokemon shouted, flying to Blade with it's horn glowing.

"Blade, detect!" Greg ordered. "Gro!" the pokemon replied, waiting untill the last second. Just before impact, the Grovyle swiflty averted the oncoming Heracross, causing it to crash clumsily into the snow.

"Now double team!" said Greg. Blade then made false copies of itself and surrounded the opponent, leaving it confined and guessing where the real one was.

Just then, Greg felt the biggest thud to his head as the PXS Soldier delivered a swift punch to the back of it, "You little b***ard!!" He then kicked Greg's side while he was on the ground, "Just! F***ing! DIE!" The man picked up a nearby rod or metal pole of some sort and readied a swing. Blade was still occupied with the Heracross, in a fierce battle with it.

"Niiidoooo!!!" was the next thing Greg could hear from a distance. He managed to turn his head to see a purple mass come raging like a bulldozer to him.

Thank god - it was King!

Greg lifted his heel and managed to kick the man in the shin, "Aaarrggh!" he cried. Greg shifted his body so that he was sitting up, looking at the man.

The man looked raged, and was about to use the metal pole before he saw King approaching. He stuttered a little before dropping the weapon and running. King drove by Greg and caught up with him, grabbing him by the neck and holding him up.

"Oh god! Please!" was all the man managed to say before King, with a look of evil on his face, roared in the face of the man before slamming him with all his force to the ground.

As the scattering snow stopped, Greg looked at the man. There was some blood coming from his mouth and he wasn't moving - King had definately broke his neck like a twig. He went to get up but cringed when he felt the blows he sustained from the man. Nothing serious but it still bloody hurt!

King walked to Greg, looking slightly saddened. Greg wasn't sure what it was other than he was simply worried for his trainer - but then he realised. King had only ever battled other pokemon, he had never killed anything before. He must have been a little distraught...

"Don't worry pal..." Greg said to him, putting his hand on it's arm, "I've never done anything like this either. But you saved me." He smiled at his Nidoking, "And for that I am truly thankful..."

"Kiiing..." the pokemon said with a slight smile before helping Greg to his feet.

"Now, let's go get them!"

Josh yelped as Alex jerked back fast, narrowly missing an Ice Beam aimed at the Pidgeot. Josh squinted down to see what had tried to hit Alex, and he could just make out a Froslass with a PXS member standing next to it, his finger pointed directly at Alex and Josh. Josh held tight as the Froslass breathed in for another shot.

"Alex, quick! Do a barrel roll, dodge what you can and try and land a Toxic on that Froslass!" Josh yelled. Alex nodded and spun around as Josh held on for dear life. The Froslass cried as its trainer slapped it over the face.

"Just hit that stupid kid!" The PXS guy yelled at the Froslass, his hand extended to punch it. "Hit the kid or you're going to hell with him."

"Not if I can help it," a voice came from behind. He spun around to get a punch in the face, knocking him out cold.

"Ashi!" Josh yelled from above. She nodded back at him and thurst a finger at the man. Her Luxray sent a few shocks of electricity into the man, paralysing him.

"That should keep him out until the end," She turned to the Froslass and nodded at it, breaking the PokéBall on the man's belt. "You're free. Go." The Froslass wailed at her as she ran off deeper into the inferno.

<Can I stay with you for now, I'll be killed if I tried to run!> she wailed again as it flew Josh. Josh raised his eyebrows and pulled out a PokéBall.

"Is this what you want?" He guessed and showed the ball to the Froslass. It nodded as Josh let it inside the ball, keeping it safe for now.

"Let's go Alex, let's go find the others!"

A lot of small battles were going on around Blitz, this is hopeless, I'll never see Breeze on this battle field. Blitz turned to head back to Graham but came face to face with a Weavile.

"Weavile, ice shard!" A man yelled at the Weavile.

Blitz attacked as quickly as he could with a brick break but was too slow. The Weavile leapt back and fired a large shard of ice at Blitz, Biltz leap to the side but was caught by the shard as it rushed past. He looked down at where the shard had scraped him, a line of blood was drawn across his side.

"Now double team!" The man commanded.

Blitz looked up just in time to see the Weavile using double team, in response to this Blitz used bulk up. The Weavile just tilted it's head at him and grinned showing it's teeth as it did.

"You know what to do use punishment!"

The Weavile slashed at Blitz with both claws, both blows hit Blitz knocking him backwards. Blitz rushed forwards at the Weavile and jumped in to the air, he raised one leg high above his head. His foot began to flame as it slammed down on top of the Weavile. The Weavile fell to the floor but slowly stood back up.

"Finish this Weavile use revenge!"

The Weavile leapt at Blitz waving it's claws forwards and backwards. As it flew towards Blitz he had time to use bulk up. The Weavile crashed in to Blitz's chest knocking him to the floor and began to attack but it wasn't enough to knock Blitz out. He threw the Weavile off and attacked with brick break. Blitz hit the Weavile with a karate chop, knocking it out, then he turned to the man who owned the Weavile and scowled at him. The man quickly withdrew the Weavile and ran off.

(OOC: IT'S FINALLY DONE! Yes, I am aware that most of it is from the Warden's character's POV (but he posted last, so...). Yes, I am aware that there are a lot of time-consuming speeches. Yes, I am aware that it is dreadfully long (eight pages on my word processor). And yes, I do realize that you may not want to read the whole thing, but TOUGH!
Enjoy~)

For the last few minutes Graham had been observing the battle field, looking for members of the Uprising group. He saw a flash of colour across the other side of the battle field. That multicoloured hair, wasn't there a girl with hair like that in the Uprising? Graham cast his mind back to reading the folder on the way to the camp. Yeah, Isabel J. Evans: leader of the Uprising. She doesn't even any Pokémon with. Capturing her shouldn't be a problem.

Graham whistled to attract Empress's attention. She turned to look at him; he waved his arm in the direction of Isabel and set off running. Close behind, Empress followed him, weaving in and out of the numerous battles that were taking place between them and Isabel.

"Miss Evans, surrender!" Graham shouted as he approached Isabel. How stupid did that just sound? The girl in front of Graham turned around to face him; in her right hand was a sword.

"Put the sword down, Miss Evans." Was what Graham said, but what he was thinking ran more along the lines of what kind of nut job runs round with a samurai sword.

"And what?" Isabel asked, raising an eyebrow. "Go with you peacefully? Been there, tried that, ended up with a sedative dart sticking out of my leg. How about we try this on for size instead?"

Isabel cupped her free hand around her mouth and shouted, "Fay! Umi! Lum! Jay! Flareon! Eve!"

Almost immediately, Isabel was surrounded by six Pokémon: an Espeon, an Umbreon, a Leafeon, a Jolteon, a Flareon and an Eevee. They each radiated a power unique to their own Type, every one of them ready for a battle and eyeing Graham resentfully.

"Looks like your precious PXS didn't manage to steal all the Pokémon in the Katsu region," Isabel said with a smirk.

Six on one, well seven on one if you counted Isabel. After all, she had a sword, she was younger and fitter than Graham, and he had no way to defend himself. Empress wouldn't last long in this fight and this wouldn't end well for either Empress or Graham. Graham was beginning to regret going after Isabel so soon. He felt his stomach churn as he looked at Isabel and all the Pokémon around her. Maybe, just maybe, he would stand a chance if he could delay Isabel until Blitz got back.

"Isabel, I am Graham. I assure you that the PXS are not here to steal your Pokémon. We are here to recruit you and the other members of your Uprising. I am offering you a place with the PXS, if you accept and you can keep your Pokémon and become an agent of the PXS. Refuse and you will be arrested and your Pokémon will be taken from you." Graham said, trying to hide the fear building up inside him. The words he had just said continued to echo inside his head after he had finished speaking. Do I really believe what I just said? Is it the truth?

"By destroying Frosty Gorge? You sick power-hungry two-timers. You really haven't changed a bit now, have you?" Isabel spat, her fingers constricting around the blade in her hand. "I believe PXS has tried this tactic before, yes? In a place called Shadow Valley. Do you remember what happened there? I believe PXS gathered together an especially large, especially bloodthirsty group of Bounty Hunters to go flush out the Uprising." She grit her teeth and stared at Graham in pure hate. "They destroyed the town. They killed nearly every one of the townspeople there. All the children..."

Isabel let out her breath in a choked gasp, seeming to forget about the man before her as tears lined her eyes. But as quickly as it had come, the tears had left, leaving Isabel facing Graham with newfound rage.

"They killed my teammates," Isabel said, her tone now turning cold and monotonous, "or at least the ones that wouldn't be any use to PXS's 'cause'. I was one of those people back then. I wasn't the leader, so I became target practice for them. And just look at me now," Isabel laughed harshly, casting out her arms around her. "I'm the star of the side-show."

"Destroy Frosty Gorge? What? No way! We're here to stop you, the Uprising. Don't think I don't know what you are, Pokémon terrorists." Graham said. He glanced round it was quite clear that Blitz was nowhere near and Graham dared not shout for him in fear of being attacked before Blitz got there. The chances of him winning were worse than slim, but there was no way out of this now. His only option was to fight despite being completely out matched.

"How can you say that this," Isabel gestured toward the fighting between the Guardians and PXS members, "is not destroying Frosty Gorge? And besides, if the Uprising were... Pokemon terrorists," Isabel's eyes narrowed. "Why on earth would the 'high and mighty' PXS be trying to recruit us?"

"Prepare: Thunder, Fire Blast, Psybeam, Dark Pulse, Leaf Blade and Shadow Ball," Isabel shouted. Her fist clenched and she whispered, "this is for David."

"Isabel, you cannot hope to beat the PXS they have more resources than you know. You may win this battle and maybe even a few more but it will not last. One day you will be either fighting for your rights on a battle field like this," Graham gestured round with one hand "or hiding from their supporters and you will realize what a mistake you have made by fighting the PXS. By then it will be too late, there are no second chances, this is the last time you will be offered this deal. I know to you this conflict must seem to be about what is right and what is wrong, but it is not. Only one side will survive this conflict, and I am on the side that will survive." Graham said looking Isabel in the eyes.

Isabel met his gaze, unwavering and possessing a deadly seriousness.

"You don't believe a single word you just said, do you?" Isabel asked, disappointment present in her voice as she slowly shook her head. "Or, at least nothing other than what you said about the 'winning side'."

"As long as there are cowards like you to be recruited into PXS, they may successfully take over the Katsu region and kill all remaining Uprising members, as I know for a fact that none of them would be enough of cowards to join," Isabel said slowly and deliberately, looking at the battles taking place around where they stood. "But as for me and my team, the Uprising, we will save the Katsu region from the new law and the oppressive power-hungry tyrants of PXS," Isabel paused and met Graham squarely in the eyes, her own eyes possessing a mixture of determination and a sadness only possessed by someone who has sealed their fate.

"Or die trying."

"Am I a coward for doing all I can to protect my family? I would rather be a coward than lose them to the PXS." Graham shouted in anger, Isabel's words had enraged him so much that he couldn't hold it back. "You are a little girl who is so naive and immature that she cannot see what she is really doing. Your Uprising wants to bring Pokémon back to this region, but have you asked if that is what the people of Katsu want? To me that is just selfish. How far would you go to bring Pokémon back? Would you fight the very people of Katsu, go against their wishes? Just so you could play with your precious little Pokémon!"

"How much have you belittled the worth of the people and Pokémon around you in order to raise yourself to such a level that you can justify every single action your 'cause' has done?" Isabel shook her head in disbelief. "Do you honestly think that by PXS winning there will be no more deaths? Pah! The only goal PXS has is control, and in order to gain control, everyone who doesn't agree with them must be killed. I have seen PXS officials gun down entire families, shooting a baby in its cradle. Would you be willing to do the same in order to save your family? By destroying the lives of other families? I'm not just fighting for Pokémon; I'm fighting for the freedom and safety of the Katsu region. Look around! PXS is no longer working with the government. If they were, they would never have held onto Pokémon, and they most certainly would not be attacking a town on orders that were obviously not government-verified. Being a little girl as I am, I still know that sacrificing the Katsu region's freedom and the lives of its citizens is the worst crime that could be committed, even for the sake of a life or even a family."

"So, sir, I know exactly what I am doing," Isabel continued coldly. "But do you have any idea what you are a part of?"

"Have you killed anyone Isabel? Have you? How about the rest of you group? I haven't; I don't plan on it either. Have I stolen Pokémon from other people? No, all my Pokémon are my own. I caught them myself. Now Isabel, how have you and your Uprising acquired Pokémon lately?" Graham asked, but they were rhetorical questions. "Not everyone in the PXS is as evil as you think; it is true that the PXS has attracted bad people. I have seen them, people who abuse the Pokémon they take and people who manipulate those around them to get what they want. But these people are not all of the PXS. I, for instance used to own a Pokemart before all this happened. I am a normal man who is doing his best to protect his family and if that makes me evil, then... then I am evil." Graham said whilst trying to avoid Isabel's gaze.

"How is supporting a cause that kills so many people who have done no harm to them any different than doing so yourself?" Isabel asked quietly, keeping her eyes fixed firmly on Graham's face. "How is being a part of something that steals Pokémon from so many and then exports and abuses them any different than taking part in that yourself?"

"You see," Isabel continued, her voice becoming louder. "A person doesn't have to be evil to be a part of something that is wrong. Everyday people can be forced to do things that they would never dream of doing were the situation different. Look at me. I'm a sixteen-year-old girl. Do you think I enjoy constantly running for my life? Being hated by so many? Having a bounty on my head?! But I'm not doing this for myself (I never even went on a Pokémon journey), or I would have given up a long time ago. I'm here fighting so that the livelihoods of families would not be stripped away like my family's. I'm here so that great Trainers like my brother and so many on the Uprising can be free to keep their partners without fear of being jailed and having their best friends exported or stolen and used by the PXS. Because no Pokémon should have to go through what those in the Katsu region did, and I'm not letting the last of my family's Pokémon be stolen nor the last Pokémon that dwell freely in the Uprising. And if fighting for the freedom of Pokémon and families in the region is evil, so be it."

"So I said that if what I was doing was wrong and I was evil then I am evil. And you said that if what you are doing is evil then you're evil. Aren't we both evil then?" Graham said scratching his head. Graham saw a large red shape running towards him. He turned to face it, Blitz, who was looking slightly bruised, was running towards where he and Empress stood. Empress continued to face Isabel and the snarling Eeveelutions beside her.

"Only if what we're both doing is wrong," Isabel said, appearing to not be affected by the new Pokémon's presence.

Isabel made a motion with her hand and, in one single motion, the Eeveelutions all released their attacks, some of them not even directed at Graham as they targeted oncoming PXS members.

"Let's get this over with," Isabel said, narrowing her eyes as she brandished her sword and her Pokémon lunged.

The sudden movement of Isabel's Pokémon put Graham off for a second, but he quickly recovered. The Leafeon leapt at Empress and slashed out with a Leaf Blade attack, the attack hit but didn't do too much damage. A black spear shot from the Umbreon towards Blitz, hitting him square in the chest.

"Right! Blitz use Bulk Up, followed up by Brick Break! Empress use Swagger on that Leafeon, then wait and see what it does!" Graham shouted, running through strategies in his head.

Blitz inhaled a large gulp of air, sticking his chest out, held his breath for a second and then let the air out. Not too far away Empress began to use Swagger in an attempt to enrage Lum the Leafeon.

Blitz used Brick Break, his fists quickly descending on the unmoving Umbreon. One of Blitz's fists struck her back, though Umi paid little attention to that fist as she spun around and snatched the other in her mouth. Not exactly a move, but it was obvious what she was doing as Dark Pulse formed in her mouth at a devastating rate.

"Snap out of it, Lum!" Isabel shouted when the Leafeon snarled in rage.

"EEEEEEEEEEEE!!"

Isabel's head snapped to the side in time to see a little ball of brown fur dash through the snow, leaping up and jumping off of a PXS member's head and using the momentum to bring her toward Empress as the Eevee prepared Take Down.

The Eevee hit Empress hurting it's self slightly with the impact. The attack knocked Empress back slightly but didn't do too much damage. Empress shot a glared at the small Eevee.

"It hurt it's self during the attack, Empress use Brine on it to inflict more damage." Graham shouted and then turned to look at Blitz.

Umi had one of Blitz's hands in her mouth and was about to use Dark Pulse again.

"Blitz shake it off and use Blaze Kick." Graham commanded Blitz, glancing back over at Empress, who was building a stream of water up in her mouth to shoot at the Eevee.

Blitz thrashed his arm about in the air in an attempt to get Umi to release, but she held on tight. Umi released the Dark Pulse, launching herself into the air. From the ground Blitz did a jumping spin high in to the air. As he leapt in to the air his right leg began to glow with orange-red flames.

A flash of yellow dashed by, moving Eve away just in time to avoid the Brine. A good distance away, Jay put down Eve and gave her a disapproving look. Eve's ears flattened against her head, making her look sheepish. The Jolteon turned back to look at Empress, growling as electricity raced up and down its coat.

"Leaf! Leaf!"

Lum suddenly charged Empress, wielding the attack Leaf Blade. But the Leafeon's missed, obviously still confused, and continued to race forward. The tip of Lum's attack glanced off Blitz's heel, causing Lum to change direction and run directly into a PXS member, slamming the poor sap to the ground.

Umi snarled, her tail suddenly glowing with Iron Tail. Umi struck Blitz's fiery leg and pushed herself away, landing lightly in the snow beside Jay and Eve. Lowering her head as she glared at Empress and Blitz, a beam began to form in her mouth, quite different from Dark Pulse. Power emanated from her as she stored up the Hyper Beam.

A blast of light shot from Umi's mouth, the surrounding snow glowed bright white with the reflection of the beam. It raced towards where Blitz and Empress were standing, Blitz shoved Empress out of the way of the oncoming beam and turning to face it head on. From where Graham was standing he saw Empress disappear behind the glowing sphere of light at the front of the Hyper Beam. The light smashed in to Blitz surrounding him in a split second, he disappeared completely.

Graham whispered a single word it was all he managed to say "No."

Blitz reappeared, he had been thrown from the ground with tremendous force and flew into the air spinning all the time. His body was limp, arms and legs flailing as he struggled to remain conscious. Using every ounce of will power left in his body, Blitz stuck out his arms slowing the spin dramatically. Flames shot off him as he began to propel himself downwards at the group of Eeveelutions. Engulfed in fire he sped towards them, Graham recognized the attack and what it meant. Brave Bird was an attack that Blitz would only use as a last resort because of the damage he would suffer doing the attack. The flames that surrounded Blitz extinguished themselves and were replaced with a glowing orange aura. This was very bad; Blitz couldn't take much more of this, and he was the stronger of the two Pokémon Graham had with him.

Meanwhile Empress had just been shoved out of the way of the Hyper Beam, she spun round to watch Blitz vanish completely. She continued to spin until she was facing Lum the Leafeon. Running up to him, she prepared to use drill peck on the dazed Pokémon.

Suddenly, there was an Espeon amongst the group of Eeveelutions, and though she stood in front of Eve protectively, she stared up calmly at the oncoming attack. She turned to look at Jay and gave some sort of nod and their tails began to glow. They jumped up, aiming their attacks not to do the most damage, but in an attempt to direct Blitz's attack away from Eve and the unmoving Umi.

Eve, however, was no longer there.

"EEEEEE!!" came the shrill call once again as the small Pokémon charged toward the Empoleon. She leapt up and landed on Empress's head, clawing and biting and using no attack in particular and seeming to rather enjoy herself.

"Eve, when are you going to learn to start using your attacks," Isabel muttered, then shouted, "Lum! Snap out of it! Use Leaf Blade!"

Lum, who had been wandering around attacking random PXS members who, for some reason, vaguely resembled either a Blaziken or Empoleon, turned and faced Empress, his expression blank. Suddenly, recognition flashed in Lum's eyes, quickly replaced by anger as it charged with Leaf Blade.

A Flareon suddenly entered the scene, halting before Graham. Flames formed in her mouth as she prepared Fire Blast, but on a motion from Isabel, she didn't release, though the attack continued to grow more powerful.

Blitz saw the two Pokémon flying towards him but was unable to change his course, he hit them head on and was thrown face first in to the snow. The snow under him exploded in to the air on impact. As he lay there slowly slipping in to darkness Blitz hoped that his master would be safe.

Eve was climbing all over Empress, scratching and biting her whenever she got a chance. Empress tried to fling her off but she hung on with all the strength she could muster. Lum attacked Empress with a Leaf Blade and she lost balance, falling face up in the snow. Empress rolled on to her front and pushed herself to her feet reading her claws to attack with Metal Claw. During this maneuver Eve was throw about like a rag doll but managed to stay clinging on to her. Before she attacked Empress looked round, Blitz was face down in the snow, he was not moving and Graham was at the mercy of a Flareon.

<Enough, let us stop this pointless conflict, one refuses to fight any longer.> Empress said to Lum grabbing Eve by the back of the neck. <Now, will you tell this little one to get off of me?>

Graham flinched as the Fire Blast began to form in the Flareon's mouth, when nothing came he opened his eyes.

"Looks like you've beaten me. I surrender and I think Empress has as well." Graham said pointing at the Empoleon. He unclipped his belt holding his Pokeballs and chucked it in the snow in front of Isabel. "So, what now? Are you going to take me hostage, or are you just going to kill me in cold blood?"

The answer never came, because as soon as the words had left his mouth, three shapes appeared, running towards the group. Graham looked at the shapes. It was Paul, Slash and a Shinx. After all this time searching for him, he had finally found him.

"Paul!" Graham said, tears running down his face.

"Don't kill him! He's my dad!" Paul shouted at Isabel, pointing his newly aquired knife at just about everything in sight.

"Your..." Isabel furrowed her eyebrows, confused by the sudden turn of events.

Fay walked over toward Empress, eyeing Lum, who seemed to be rather sore about not finishing his battle.

<Calm yourself, Lum. The fight is over.> Fay lifted Eve off of the Empoleon's back and into the air using a weak telekinetic force.

<ARGH! Lemme at her! I can take her down all by myself, you'll see!> Eve said, struggling against Fay's power.

<I'm sure you could,> Fay said calmly, rather patronizing toward the little Pokémon as she placed Eve in the snow. <But now I think that the time has come to concentrate our energies elsewhere.>

There was a strange silence that settled upon the group and it took a while for Isabel to realize that much of the fighting had stopped. Glancing around, she saw that large groups of Guardians and Uprising members were taking down the last few clusters of PXS members and their Pokémon.

Have we just... Won? She hardly dared allow herself to think it, and a moment later she realized just how soon she had spoken.

The crack of gunpowder shattered the near-silence as bullets began to slice through the air.

"Get down!" Isabel screamed, knocking Graham down with the flat of her blade and tugging Paul behind the snow drift with them.

Isabel quickly stood and grabbed the belt Graham had dropped, returning his two Pokémon along with her six before retreating back to their cover. She dared a glance toward the attack and her stomach clenched. More armored vans were making their way over the snowy hills and a few already had unloaded their PXS members, who opened fire on everything that didn't wear a PXS uniform. The remaining PXS members with Pokémon cheered.

"Paul, take your father to the Pokémon Center and make sure he can't leave," Isabel shouted above the chaos. Paul looked as though he were about to object, but Isabel continued, "That's an order Paul! Your father will be safe there. Now, take Graham to the Pokémon Center and make sure he doesn't leave!"

Isabel stood and handed Graham's belt to Paul, then reached into her sleeve to pull out a PokeBall, watching as Fay materialized in a red beam.

"Let's do this, Fay," Isabel said in a low voice.

Fay turned her head toward the nearest PXS member and Isabel watched as the gun was wrenched out of his hand and was pointed at the surprised man's chest. The sound of the gun firing seemed deafening to Isabel and she flinched as the man fell to the snow. Fay allowed the gun to fall to the ground and turned her attention to another PXS member. Isabel released her remaining Eeveelutions, ordering them to stay clear of gunfire and attack only if they could take their target by surprise.

The second wave had arrived.

"Arrrgghhh!" Josh wailed, still from above. As the PXS members grew less and less, he had returned his other Pokémon, giving them a break. Alex had remained airborne the entire time, slightly panting now. He had dodged most of the attacks, only with a few minor burns on his wing. PXS were having a hard time winning this battle, but now these new trucks were incoming, fit with ammunition and new Pokémon. And the Uprising and the Guardians didn't exactly have an unlimited amount of that. Josh just hoped that Isabel had a plan. And Ashi knew it so she could tell him.

"Alex! One last thing from you," Josh yelled over the rush of the wind. "Use a huge Toxic on all of those trucks, to weaken them. Then go back to the gate, take us down, and I'll give you a rest. Maybe if you go on your own, have a quick heal at the centre if you can get there, and we can go back into the sky again."

Alex nodded and sped off, dropping large amounts of Toxic on the trucks, aiming correctly so they would drop in the back doors of the armoured vehicles. A few PXS members noticed and ordered Pokémon to attack. Alex dodged a few of them, but was struck by a Ice Shard in the wing. He wailed and began to drop.

"NO ALEX, NO!" Josh screamed, quickly whipping out a potion and spraying it everywhere. Alex recovered slightly, only to flop into the snow several hundred meters away from the battle, behind the PXS. Josh was thrown forward, face first into the snow. He cursed as the cold touched his skin but quickly got up and went to Alex.

"Are you okay? Alex? Alexander? Can you still fly?" Josh spluttered out, spraying what was left of the potion wherever he saw a scrape or bruise. The Pidgeot cried weakly and sat up, waving his wings around to see if they worked. He whined again, dropping his wings and panting.

"Exhaused, ok," he nodded. "You can rest. But, I need you outside the PokéBall. If anyone finds us, we need a quick getaway. Here, here's a Sitrus Berry," Josh passed the yellow berry over into Alex's beak. "We need to find that Raichu, and Tock. Sar will never forgive me if something happens to them." He sighed faintly.

"Pidg," Alex sighed with him. And if the PXS found them, they both were pretty much toast.

* * *

"You've got to be freaking joking," Ashi narrowed her eyes. Her Pokémon all around her were still in pretty good condition, teaming up on battles was saving them energy and teaching them how to work well in a team. But more PXS meant more energy and effort lost. They couldn't keep fighting forever. Ashi sighed and looked up, searching the air for Josh. She looked around, where was he? Her heart started to race as she went over the possibilities. Was he shot? Was he killed? Was he taken hostage?

"Has anyone seen Josh?" Ashi yelled out to her fellow PXS members. "He was with his Pidgeot, where did he go? Does anyone know?" She knew if something did happen to him, she would never forgive herself.

Ever.

Paul looked at Graham as Isabel and her Pokemon ran off. He clipped Graham's belt round his waits above his own. "What exactly were you doing joining the PXS!" Paul shouted at Graham pointing at the PXS logo on his uniform.

"I will explain but I think that now is neither the time nor the place to discuss it." As if in anwser to Graham's statement a hail of bullets shot over head. Both Paul and Graham ducked thier heads.

"Point taken. Slash, Bolt, return. Lets go." Paul said returning both of his Pokemon and getting ready to dash to the next snow drift.

Graham put his arm in the way as Paul was about to run, knocking Paul backwards slightly. "What do you think your doing? Your going to get your self shot!"

Paul turned to face Graham, still crouching behind the snow drift. "Well do you want to stay out here with those mad man. Dad we need to get inside!" He said pointing first at the PXS forces then at Frosty George.

"Yes, I know son but running from bullets is not the best way to do it. Look I bet if we were to sneak round that way we would get inside with out even being seen." Graham said pointing at a near by snow drift and then at a trench running most the way along the wall to the gates. Graham set off runing towards the snow drift, Paul followed him both of them kept low to stay out of sight as best as possible. Once they reached the snow drift, they stopped for a minuet and then ran and dived in to the trench. They crawled along the trench as far as they could.

"From here we will have to make a run for the gate." Graham said as he ducked down, from peering over the top of the trench." There is one gunman in sight but he is too far away to hear us. "Paul, are you alright?" Paul was white as a sheet, most likely out of fear. "Everythings going to be okay son. Come on we need to go... now!"

Paul and Graham dashed to the large gates that opened in to Frosty George. There was a small door way built in to the gates, which was open already the two of them ran straight through the door way. Graham was greeted by a large Abomasnow frowning at him, it lifted one arm up ready to slam a large wooden fist down on him when Paul stepped in the way.

"He is a prisoner you are not to hurt him." Paul said looking up at the Abomasnow, that bent down to look at Paul.

"Snow Aboma Aboma Snow." The Abomasnow it yelled stepping aside to let Graham and Paul pass.

Back at the Pokemon center Paul handed over Graham's belt to a nurse and asked her to heal the Pokemon but keep them in their Poke balls. The nurse frowned at the odd request but agreed and took the Pokemon away to heal. Paul walked over to a receptionist.

"Excuse me do you happen to have any tape?" Paul asked the receptionist.

"Yes we do, were a bit busy right now but there is some in the janitor's store room." The receptionist anwsered not looking up from her work.

Paul took Graham with him to the store room, it was a small room lined with shelves and was only big enough for one person so Graham waited outside while Paul got the tape.

"Dad. Could you get me this tape, it's in a box on the tope shelf right at the back." Paul said walking out of the store room.

"Okay son, you don't want me to tie myself up as well to do you." Graham said as he walked in to the room. He had no intention of giving Paul the tape he was just getting it so that Paul couldn't use it to tie him up.

"Excuse me?" Paul asked the receptionist again. "Can I please borrow a pen and paper."

"Here you go." The receptionist said handing a pen and paper to Paul, who quicky scribbled something on the paper and handed the pen back.

Paul inspected his work, the sign on the door read. "Do not open. PXS prisoner." He took a ball from his belt and released Bolt from her ball.

"Bolt, gaurd this door, don't let anyone in except any Uprising or Gaurdians." Paul said to her handing her the key that she took from him with her mouth. She curled up in to a ball on the floor, wrapping herself into a ball round the key to the store room door.

"I'll be back later dad." Paul shouted to his dad through the door.

"Let me out of here son!" Graham shouted back.

"No dad Isabel said your not to go any where." Paul said back and walked away.

Paul was on his way outside when the nurse that he had given Graham's Pokemon to came over to him. "Excuse me but one of the Poke balls you gave me didn't have a Pokemon in, now I ran it through the computor and the description fits a Pidgeot that was brought in earlier. I need you to confirm that it is the correct Pokemon. Is there an adult with you who can sign a few forms?" The nurse asked Paul, who shook his head. "Never mind I can sort out the paper work some other time when we are not under attack."

The nurse led Paul to a room in the back of the Pokemon centre where a Pidgeot was laying on a desk. Paul recognised it at once.

The nurse turned to Paul. "If this is the Pokemon we think it is then it has a nickname, do you know it?"

"Breeze." Paul called to the Pidgeot. Breeze turned to Paul hopped off the table and walked over to him.

"I think that pretty much confirms, that you know the Pokemon and it is the one that came from this ball." The nurse said returning Breeze to her ball. "You will be able to pick your Pokemon up at the front desk in about five minuets."

Paul left the examination room but didn't bother to pick up Graham's Pokemon, instead he walked right out of the centre to see what help he could be in this battle.

Vic looked over to Matre and Bro. They were tired and Vic was it too. Matre, come back, I don't want you hurt too… Vic glanced shortly at Bro, giving him orders for a mudshot, and when he looked back at Matre, she wasn't there. "Matre! Where are you?" Said Vic, but it was useless as the roaring battle sounds made it a whimsical sound.

<I don't have to worry that much about Matre, she can handle herself.> Shot through his mind. But before deciding what to do, a PXS member stormed to him, attacking him with a gligar. "Bro, use surf and earthquake to make ice shards!"

The gligar got hit at one of his wings, causing it to fall downwards, but counterattacked with poison sting, hitting the wooper critical in its belly. The injection of the poison made Bro suffer. Vic tried to run to him, but was blocked by an ekans, that just appeared from a pokeball.

The grunt wanted to order the ekans to attack, but was knocked out by a small brown ball, that used him to jump at an empoleon. <Wait, isn't that Isabel over there?> Thought Vic as he was running towards Bro to give him an antidote.

He hadn't had much time to heal Bro, because a second wave towered up before them, using weapons to shoot everyone who had no PXS uniform.
For a short moment, Vic looked to the second wave, and he realized that Matre was in the front battleline.

**Matre**
Matre saw the sorrow in Vic's eyes, and feeled she had to protect him, instead of him protecting her. She decided to show her true strength. So, she ran towards the frontline. As Matre finally reached the frontline of the battle, there was another wave PXSmembers coming up: they had guns but no pokemon.

<When they are blinded, they can't shoot, right?> matre thought, and so she used sandattack. However, this attracted attention from the other gunman, causing them to shoot at her. Matre dodged the bullets with quick attack, followed with thundershock, which was wonderfully conducted by the guns that were made of steel.

Then however, Matre was hit in her back, causing her to tumble forwards…

(OOC: My internet stopped just when I wanted to post, so I post it now instead XD)

The first cracks of gunfire caused Sar to duck instantly behind a rock, even though that was probably a futile attempt to avoid the bullets. She tried to get her breath back, heart pounding in her chest. Briefly she wondered whether her father had sold arms to PXS after she'd left.

Where are they? Sar wondered as she scanned what little she could see of the field for her Pokemon. And the Raichu, since he didn't really have anybody else to look for him. Josh, too, wasn't circling the sky anymore. Biting her lip, she leaned back against the cold, hard stone focusing her mind on not dying. The gunshots were deafening, and Sar had the sinking suspicion that they were getting nearer to her hiding spot.

<Look, it sparks when it hits the ground. Pretty.> Tock said, hopping next to her owner. Sar looked down, a smile slowly spreading on her face. Well, at least one of them are definitely alive, she thought with a pang. Barely restraining herself from giving Tock a hug, she ruffled the Hoothoot's feathers.

The Raichu appeared next to Tock, slightly uncertain how to act now towards the girl he swore would become his owner in the middle of a battle against his former team. <Do you ever take things seriously?> He asked Tock in exasperation.

Sar hesitated for a moment before reaching out and patting the Electric Pokemon on the head. After all, he didn't have any ties to any of the trainers, so he could have just ran instead of participating in the war. Raichu looked ecstatic.

There was a sudden change in the sounds and noise level, causing Sar to look up. Her blood ran cold as she recognized what it was that had changed. Oh no...

They had helicopters. Helicopters with guns. They rained down another wave of gunfire and Sar had to run out from her hiding spot or be riddled with holes. Crap. Burr, I hope you're okay, Sar thought, dragging Tock and the Raichu with her as she ran.

Greg was slowly growing tired, and he guessed his pokemon were too. However, the wave of PXS Troops seemed to be wearing thinner...

Are we... winning? Really?

Greg looked up and saw Krow circling above with a few other flying pokemon. He also saw King and Blade: both were keeping together and fighting off a few remaining enemy pokemon and PXS.

Finally! Now we can- oh for ff...!

There was now a large number of vehicles and troops appearing over the snow-ridden hills in the distance, and there were even some helicopters...

Gunfire. The PXS had guns now.

Rattles of bullets could be heard from where the enemy was, and many clouds of snow were appearing round-about where Greg was standing - indicating the bullet's impact off of the ground.

"King!! Blade!! Get back!!" shouted Greg in panic - trying his best to prevent his pokemon's sure death... He ducked behind a destroyed PXS Vehicle and gained his breath - realising the PXS were only getting closer. Then it hit him: Krow was still in the air! A sure target for enemy guns.

Greg looked up and saw Krow, looking forward at the enemy and attempting to fly away, "Quick, return!" called Greg, realising this was the quickest way to get Krow back to him.

After looking around for a brief minute, Greg saw a suitsable point of cover only a few yards from Frosty Gorge's walls: it was a long bank that was deep enough for someone to take cover from the oncoming fire. This was the best option he had right now, but it would involve running. Fast.

There were a number of people close by, similarly hiding behind something from the bullets and shouting for pokemon.

"EVERYONE! THERE'S A SMALL BANK OVER HERE! WE CAN REGROUP AND TAKE COVER!!" Greg called out, hoping at least someone would hear...

He ran, with Blade quickly overtaking him and King also trudging the best he could. Bullet's were getting closer, and Greg nearly dived into the small trench. He looked and saw Blade was fine, but King seemed to stumble in, in some sort of pain.

"What's wrong buddy?" Greg asked out of breath. He looked over King and saw his wound - he had been shot in the tail. Luckily, it was near the end so it wasn't life threatening.

King's face was screwed up tight as he was trying to ride out the pain, however Greg could tell that it was mostly the shock that got him.

"Here King, take a small break in here," Greg pulled out a pokeball, "I'll call you later."

With King returned, Greg re-released Krow and sat, facing the Honchkrow and Grovyle,

"It's just us guys for now..."

(OOC: Sorry I havn't posted in a wee while :P)

A cold wind blew across the battlefield, kicking up snow and carrying it along, as Chris sat with his eyes closed shut. On his right side, lying in the snow, was the gun which the old man had gave him, the same one he used to kill the bounty hunter. On his left side lay the man, his deep red blood already tainting the pure white snow. "Guess… I'm not as tough as I thought." Chris sighed and slowly opened his eyes. He slowly turned his head to look at the man, as he had done many times before, but just like the past few, he couldn't bring himself to look at his face. He had done it so thoughtlessly a moment ago. But now…

Chris again attempted to look, but again turned away, revolted. Dile and Ivy walked up to Chris with Char landing behind them. "I needed to… right?" Chris asked, turning to his Pokémon. "If I didn't…"

"Toto…" Dile said, looking away from the man, much as Chris had done. A silence fell over the group. The battles around him were dying down as the remaining PXS forces were being thinned out.

"But… you guys did great. So try not to worry." Chris smiled slightly at Dile and Char.

"Hmm… seems like he had nothing but this knife…" Chris slowly turned to see a man with blonde hair and had to be about three or four years older than Chris, standing over the bounty hunters body. He was wearing a light blue coat with black shirt underneath as well as two weapon holsters on his waist, and was spinning the bounty hunters knife in his hand.

"Dang…"

"Hey! What are you doing?!" Chris yelled, standing up and facing the man.

"What? Me?" The man asked, innocently pointing towards himself.

"No, the other guy!" Chris sarcastically yelled, rolling his eyes taking a step towards the man.

'Course I mean you, Damnit!"

"Hey. Chill." The man said rather calmly. "Actually, that's not too hard here!" He laughed, and Chris' eyes widened.

"What the hell?! You're laughing about this?! You're desecrating the dead!"

"Well, he's not using it anymore."

"Yeah, but-!"

"You gotta survive somehow, and I didn't kill him, so…"

Chris looked away from the man and at the ground. "Oh, it was you?" The man asked, "Well, don't sweat it, you did the right thing."

"But… does that give you the right to ravage his body!?"

The man stood still for a second before sighing. "Fine, I'll leave this one." Suddenly the man did a complete turnaround, exclaiming in a cheery voice "So what's your name and where ya from?"

"Uh…" Chris stuttered, taken aback by the sudden change in face. "I'm Chris, and from Hoenn. But I'm a member of the Uprising."

"You're an Uprising member you've never been in battle like this and killed anyone?"
Chris looked away. "No, it's not that… it's-"

"Never mind, it's not my business. Anyways, I'm Sage. Nice to meet ya."
Chris glanced at Char and Ivy for a moment as Dile climbed onto his shoulder. "What were you doing?"

"What, do you think we've won?! I'm just getting ready for more by getting supplies and etcetera. By the way…" He said, pulling a gun out of the holster on his waist. "You're not going to live very long without some sort of gun." Sage threw the gun to Chris. "Even if you have Pokémon."

Chris caught the gun by its handle and examined the weapon. It was silver and had 6 chambers as well as a black wooden handle. "A .44 magnum…"

"Good guess." Sage shrugged. "How did you know?"

"I saw a Clint Eastwood movie once."

"Ah… right." Sage laughed for a moment. "So you were a trainer I'm guessing?"

"I still am." Chris hissed, a little annoyed. "And always will be."

"Oh. Well, that must be fun."

"And what about you?" Chris growled. "You couldn't have been a grave robber forever."
Sage gave him a dark glance before returning to his regular voice. "Actually, I'm part of the Elite Four of this region!"

Chris and all his Pokémon's mouths gaped wide open as they heard this. "What?! You're a part of the Elite Four!? Why are-" Chris was cut off in mid-sentence as Sage began to laugh uncontrollably.

"Man! I could not keep a straight face on that! Naw, I only have a Sandslash! I'm a detective!"

"Really? Or are you just saying that?" Chris scowled alongside Char, Dile and Ivy.

"Yeah! It's true! All of it! I mean just look at the gun I gave you. Standard for most!"

"Hm…" Chris continued to scowl at Sage. After all, could he really trust this guy? He glanced over at his Pokémon again, all which were avoiding Sage's gaze. "Give me a sec, will you?" Chris turned away and walked to Char and Ivy. "You two alright?" They both nodded in unison. "Good. Thanks you two… You both did great and I can't thank you enough." He slowly pulled their Pokeballs off of his belt. "Take good rest… Both of you have seen- I mean done enough." Char took a step forward to protest but was enveloped in a red light along with Ivy. "You too, Dile." After placing Char and Ivy's ball on his belt, Chris reached down onto his belt brought the ball up to Dile. However, almost immediately Dile knocked the ball right out of his hands.

"Toto! Totodile!" He protested, almost screaming at Chris.

"I thought so…" Chris smiled as tears filled his eyes, "Thank you, Dile."

"You done? This is getting boring…" Chris turned to see Sage yawning behind him. He gave him another glare before picking up Dile's Pokeball and placing it back onto his belt.

"You know for a member of the police, you're pretty unprofessional" Chris scoffed, however, Sage just ignored him.

"Actually I'm a detective."He laughed.

"Whatever…"

"So you still feel for the man you killed" He solemnly said, taking out his gun.

"Can it…"

He smirked "Here's some advice for you: Those who aren't prepared to die shouldn't take a life. And those who want to make a change, should be prepared to die." Chris grinded his teeth and again glared at Sage. "But you're still pretty naïve, aren't you?" Sage sighed, before again changing his tone. "I told you before, there will be more. Obviously they would first send in a wave of weaker forces which they know possible can't win, then send in a stronger force! It's a common tactic for the PXS."

Chris' eyes widened. "They would really-?"

"Of course." Sage replied with spite in his voice and gradually grew louder. "They don't care about anyone. Not their men, not the people, and not about-!"

A thunderous noise silenced Sage halfway through his tirade. For a moment he stood there, eyes open, before he fell face first to the ground. As he fell, Chris looked past Sage and to the field. Solders in PXS uniforms stood with their guns pointed straight at the field and seemed to be in every direction. Without warning, all of them fired simultaneously.

"Get down!" Someone yelled from behind Chris. Although he didn't even think it or even have the time to, his body instinctively hit the ground as bullets sped over his head.

"Chris…" A voice whispered next to where Chris was laying. Chris slowly turned, only to see Sage laying on his back in the snow, a stream of blood were coming out of his mouth, as well as a river coming out of his stomach. Words fled from Chris' mind as he stared at Sage. "Take my Pokémon." Sage gasped, pulling a ball out of his pocket. "Your Pokémon obviously love you very much, and you must take care of them. My Pokémon, Cedrik , deserves the same… even if not from me." Chris hesitated. He barely knew the guy, and now he wanted him to take his Pokémon? Staring off into the distance and growing fainter by the second, Sage interrupted his thought. "He needs to be with someone, don't leave him." Chris slowly nodded, before taking the Pokeball out of Sage's hand. No sooner than he did, Sage fell still. Rage began to build up in his mind. Another victim of the PXS's desire for power.

Chris stood back up, holding Sage's Pokémon's Pokeball in one hand, and the silver revolver in the other.

"Advance! Hurry!' Some PXS solder yelled out of Chris' sight. But Chris was not focused on him; he was focused on the five PXS troops in front of him. Dile jumped off Chris' shoulder to face the troops, but there was no way he could win 5 vs 1.

Quickly, Chris swapped out Cedrik's ball for Psy's and opened it up. In a moment, the Slowbro stood yawning in front of them. "Psy! Use Reflect! Fast!"

Although the Slowbro was usually, well… slow, to follow Chris' commands, he understood the direness of the situation and did as he was told, setting up a shield which the bullets bounced harmlessly against.

"Now Psy, Psychic!" Chris ordered as the rage continuing to grow. The PXS Solder's looked in terror as their guns flew out of their hands and floated in front of them. "You have destroyed this region, you have destroyed lives, and you have destroyed the bonds between human and Pokémon as well as their futures… For their vengeance, I command you to die!"

Psy's eyes grew a deep blue as he followed Chris' order. Simultaneously, all five guns fired, and five bodies fell to the ground. Unlike with the bounty hunter, he felt no remorse as he turned away. Maybe it was because he had not personally killed them, or maybe it was because they deserved their demise.

"EVERYONE! THERE'S A SMALL BANK OVER HERE! WE CAN REGROUP AND TAKE COVER!!" Someone called out from further down the battlefield. Focusing his eyes, he could see Greg hiding in a trench as bullets whizzed over his head.

"Dile, Psy, let's go!"

"Slow?" Psy yawned, refusing to move.

"Oh... Right. Slowbro. Duh." Chris stammered, returning Psy to his ball. "Thanks Psy. Now let's go!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Darting from place to place to avoid fire, it took Chris and Dile a good five minutes to get to the trench, sliding into the trench just as another volley of bullets flew through the air. Blood tricked from the cut on his cheek as Chris looked around the trench, just in time to see Greg re-release a Pokémon. "It's just us guys for now..."

"Hey. Don't count us out yet." Chris said, approaching Greg as Dile climbed back onto his shoulder. "We need to repel this attack… you know where Isabel is?"

Greg shook his head back and forth.

"Right, well then." Chris paused for a moment, gauging the possible moves. "Let's do what you said. Regroup." He pulled Silver's ball off of his belt and released him. As Silver stretched his wings, Chris addressed him. "Find as many Uprising or Guardians as you can and bring them here." With a nod and a flap of his wings, the Pidgeot flew off. "Greg, send your Honchkrow as well. Me and you should hold here." He pulled out Psy's Pokeball, releasing him in a flash of red. "Ready?"

(OOC: Ow... Mah Brains hurt (BUT I'M DONE!). Anyways, I caved into recouping. Feel free to see Chris' Pidgeot and follow him to us.)

(the first of a two-part post. The rest comes tomorrow.)

He heard the loud roar. He recognized it instantly. And he knew what it meant.

He got up and flung his cloak off, and made a mad dash for Matsu. She was dueling with another soldier, continuing with the plan. She hadn't noticed anything.

He felt bullets pass within centimeters of his face, but he didn't care; only one thing mattered right now...
-----------------
<Come on! Is that all you've got?>

The soldier kept his distance, holding a Pokeball. She'd unintentionally knocked out his first and apparently only Pokemon, and now he seemed to be considering his options.

Tired of the stalemate, she let loose a quick but potent charge; he was out in an instant.

She took a moment to revel in her victory, but a sudden impact startled her. A bug or something had hit her arm. She looked down, and was shocked to see blood coming out of her arm...
------------------
He saw it happen. She was hit once, twice. On the third hit, she fell.

He ran with all of his might. He felt a pair of impacts hit his legs, but his mind only registered mild annoyance at the distraction.

A soldier stepped up to challenge him, but Kij knocked the man out of the way with a single sweep of his arm. His pace barely slowed...
-------------------
The trembling started. She managed to look down, and saw the vast sea of crimson spreading around her. The snow was icy-cold on her wounds...

She knew she was dying.

Damn...not here...not yet...

She coughed up a thick wad of blood, draining from her rapidly-depleting reserves. Her vision blurred...

...I'm sorry...Kij...I wasn't able...to follow you....to the end...after all....
-----------------------

"Matsu!"

He felt more impacts, but he ignored them. He finally reached her; she was unconscious. He rolled her gently over...

He surpressed a gag. The entire front of her body was a dark red, her fur stained with her own blood. She had one bullet wound in her right arm, one in her lower gut, and one in her left paw.

He forced himself to calm. He withdrew his knife set, and removed the long-slender one. She was badly injured, but he just might be able to save her...

More impacts in his back. He felt a trickle of irritation, but nothing more; the adrenalin kept his pain in check.

He lowered the knife towards her, but flinched when a spark leapt from her body to the blade. Without hesitating, he searched around his pockets until he found a scrap of rubber fabric. He wrapped it tightly around the blade, and resumed work.

After some careful digging, he removed all three rounds; they appeared to be small-calibur, and hadn't penetrated far. Still, the blood that was pouring forth from the wounds was filling his lungs with a sickeningly sweet odor.

Another impact; this one knocked him over. He was startled by the amount of effort it took just to pull himself up. He brushed it aside and returned to Matsu. His hands felt slick; his vision started to fade. He silently prayed he'd kept the medical kit from earlier...

He found it. He opened it, and proceeded to treat the injuries. After a bit of work, he had her disinfected, sutured, and bandaged. Her breathing stabilized. Her eyes started to stir.

He'd done it. She'd live.

Unfortunately, without the distraction of saving her, he now felt the full force of his own injuries. A sharp spasm ran up his body, and he fell; it took every bit of strength he had just to avoid crushing her. Everything became enshrouded in whiteness...it began to overtake his vision...

Matsu...please...run away...don't die here...

The whiteness had blocked out everything, yet somehow, she was still perfectly clear to him...

...guess....you got your....freedom earlier...than expect...huh...

Her eyes opened. She moved her head and looked around. When she met his eyes, hers grew wide. She tried to jump up, but stumbled, grabbing her stomach-wound...

The whiteness spread into his mind, smothering his thoughts one by one....somehow, something occured to him, and he had one final though...

Our...blood...mixed...didn't it....? Guess...we really...are....brother...and.....sis......
------------------
She fought the pain. It didn't matter nothing did anymore. She dragged herself over to him, just in time to watch the light fade from his eyes. A weak, sad smile crossed his lips, then vanished.

<Come on, Kij! Wake up!> She shook him violently, but he didn't respond.

<No! Get up, please! Kij!> She drew up and blasted him with an electrical discharge. Still nothing. He fell limp. She laid her head on his chest.

He was gone.

Kij...why? Why me? Why did you...for me...? You threw it all away...you let them win...

It was over. The men from all those years ago, the mission they had first set out to accomplish, was now complete. The last of the Murasashi line was dead. Ikiji's mission had failed.

No, I won't let it. I'll finish it...for you. But now...I have a mission of my own...

She stood up slowly, and turned to face to incoming wave. She gathered every volt her tiny body could manage, and forced it to the surface. She had made a promise never to use this move on a human; a solemn vow to Kij, upon witnessing its lethality to humans.

But that didn't matter. This wasn't breaking the promise.

Because in her eyes, the PXS were no longer human.

My mission...to wipe every last PXS off the face of this planet.

Yassan grabbed the man's rifle and pulled it down, and heard fingers break as he yanked it off the bounty hunter's chest, then fired point-blank into the hunter's torso. He fell over into the snow, spread-eagled. Yassan scavanged some ammo off the fallen hunter, then turned around. He received a punch that sent him flying. He landed in the snow and felt the breath shoot out of him. He bent over, hacking and wheezing. His opponent laughed.

The man, obviously a soldier, had a sub-machine gun pointed right at Yassan. Two Pokemon, a Kangaskhan and a Machamp, stood slightly in front of him. Scyther stood and raced at the Kangaskhan, only to be flattened by a punch from the Machamp. Yassan staggered to his feet and raised Tyranitar's pokeball, but got hit in the face by the butt of the soldier's gun, and he felt his nose break. The soldier smiled and stood over him. Yassan looked up and felt the barrel of the sub-machine gun press against his skull. Oddly enough, he felt calm, almost at peace with the world. He closed his eyes and breathed out.

Only to hear a scream of pain and four succinct cracks of fire. Through the pain he looked up and saw Sneasel tearing at the man's eyes with her claws. He was screaming, and his Kangaskhan and Machamp were momentarily too stunned to act. Yassan took full advantage of the situation.
"Scyther, return!" Dimly, he knew Scyther needed medicine, attested to the fact that one of his beloved Scyther's wings was still lying in the snow. He staggered towards the soldier, who was now screaming louder, and twin trails of blood ran down his face. The Machamp was trying to pull Sneasel off, though it seemed oblivious to the fact that it was causing it's master even more pain. Finally, the Machamp succeeded, threw Sneasel to the ground, and waited for an order. Through choked sobs, the soldier screamed at his Machamp to use mega punch, even though he was facing the opposite direction. His Machamp did the order all too well. It's fist came back up red with blood, and a battered brown trilby hat lay on the ground, almost unrecognizable without it's wearer. The Kangaskhan turned to face Yassan. He reached for where the rifle he'd taken was, only to find that it was gone. The Kangaskhan charged.

Yassan was sure he was hallucinating. Anytime now, I'm gonna wake up. I'm going to be in the middle of the woods, and this whole Uprising thing is nothing but a bad dream. A childhood of watching League Tournaments flashed before his eyes as the Kangaskhan charged. Hah... double edge. It's just a dream though... just a dream. The wind was driven out of him again, and he felt himself flying, tumbling end over end. He hit the ground with his face and felt two teeth shatter in his mouth. He was near the wall, he realized. Near the pokemon center. He rose to his feet and spat out the teeth, he put an uncertain foot forward, not caring about the battle that the Uprising fought. He had to get Scyther to the pokecenter, then come back for Sneasel. He and Tyranitar could come back for Sneasel

"Hey. Don't count us out yet." Chris said, approaching Greg as Dile climbed back onto his shoulder.

"Chris! Thank god..."

"We need to repel this attack… you know where Isabel is?"

Greg apologetically shook his head.

"Right, well then." Chris paused for a moment, "Let's do what you said. Regroup." He pulled a pokeball off of his belt and released a Pidgeot. As it stretched his wings, Chris addressed it. "Find as many Uprising or Guardians as you can and bring them here." With a nod and a flap of his wings, the Pidgeot flew off. "Greg, send your Honchkrow as well. Me and you should hold here." He pulled out Psy's Pokeball, releasing him in a flash of red. "Ready?"

Greg looked at Krow, who seemed to understand the task in hand. He turned again to face Chris,

"Ready."

Krow and the Pidgeot took of quickly into the air, but the bullets were still coming fast...

"Krow, use Protect whenever you see any bullets coming! But first," Greg looked forward and saw a line of PXS soldiers all with rifles coming uncomfortably close, "Hit them all with Dark Pulse!"

Krow paused in mid flight and sent out a large, dark wave towards the line. It practically chopped up the snow and a large cloud of impact appeared. None of the troops were visible, and the gunfire seemed to calm down a little.

"Now, go and help Pidgeot find some allies!!"

"Kroowww!" called out Krow as he was flying off...

Greg turned again to Chris, "How are you faring?"

(OOC: To repeat what wolfsrain said, feel free to see Krow or Silver ;))
