5th Gen Third Game Speculation

Well its not like Nintendo did let gamefreaks know yesterday about 3DS, also Nintendo needs to push out games for 3DS, if you look at amazon.ca or gamestop we are only month away from lunch of 3DS but the available games for preorder are like 2-3 (and they even got release date set to 2-3 days after 3DS)

time will tell if Nintendo wanna support large DS community or push everybody to get 3DS as quick as possible

No, Nintendo doesn't need to do anything. And they don't want everyone rushing out to buy a 3DS like consumers did with the Wii/DS. What they want to do is create support from third-party developers. That's why there are so few launch titles.

The DS had a long lifespan in most likely due to the economic climate of the latter part of the 2000s. I expect first-party and exclusives support for the 3DS will fizzle out after a year or so - just like it has for every system when their successors come onto the market, even that behemoth the Playstation 2 (God Of War II came out about three months after the PS3, shortly afterwards we got Odin Sphere and they don't really count but FFXII International and Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix around the same time. After that you're left with multiplatforms, tie-ins, licensed games and the occasional niche release like Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 or arcade ports of fighting games)

looking at the sales from pokemon BW it would make sense for the 3rd game to come out for the 3ds . Imagine it will cost 5 million to reamp the game for the 3ds ( could be more or less) and another 150 million to distribute and advertise, Thats a 155 million game freak pays out, now Bw sold 5 million copies in japan alone selling around 50 bucks , thats 250 million they make a 100 million dollar profit, now peolpe will pick up a 3ds for pokemon dont kid yourselves, so 5 million 3ds will come to 1.5 billion bucks nintendo likes money lol. so it would make sense for it to come out on the 3ds
 
Hmm. Okay, then. Why not just give the game 3DS "enhancements" instead of making it an exclusive? They'd make so much more profit.

 1.) DS owners will be able to play it.
 2.) 3DS owners will be able to play it.
 3.) ???
 4.) PROFIT!

 But if they made it exclusive to the 3DS, only 3DS owners will be able to play. They could be cutting themselves off from a large part of the consumer market because extreme Pokemon fanatics are the only people who are likely to buy the system for this game. How many of those 5 million people were extreme Pokemon fans, and who among them were first-timers? ...There's no way to know, but you raise a good point about Nintendo working through GameFreak to get people buy their system.

lol that's just shady but I wouldn't put it past them.

yea its pretty crazy lol. Hmm you do raise some good points. But i figure in japan everybodys gonna get a 3ds pokemon game or not. So i figure by 2012 pretty much every one should have one. But i do agree it could be 3ds enhanced. Lol but the funny thing is 3d graphics is the least of my problems i just want more stuff in the game and the 3ds can deliver

Ah, handhelds do have a record of being more popular in Japan ( than in any other region ) so maybe! Maybe, lol. And I agree about the 3D part; I just want more stuff, too. I only wonder if GF has pushed the DS to it's limits. I think they have done so graphically, but in terms of... well, adding new stuff, I think there was room for more.

....I know that I don't come off as feeling this way, but I'd be really excited to see a 3DS Pokemon game. I'd pre-order the game and buy it on release day, even if I don't even have the system.

BUT!

That's just because I am insanely obsessed with Pokemon. The main series, anyway. I don't think even a million people would do the same thing.

Haha! i will definitely do the same!
but what i would like to see in next game is more freedom
currently games are just to much linear, wouldn't be great if everybody could write their own story of reaching to the top?
when you leaving the hometown you would have choice of which road you taking instead the one that takes you to the next city
 
take a look at the water fighting pokemon event on youtube, i would like more events like that. For example lets say once your starter reaches a certain level you would get a call from the professor and you meet her cheren and bell somewhere and the event would activate, your starter would come out of there pokeball and show appreciation to you and the professor ....lol i know i may not be making sense. Lol i want events in the game to be activated with just regular pokemon when certain criteria are met .lets say you breed a pokemon and its egg hatches while the parents are in your party it could activate an event where the parent pokemon come outa there pokeball to greet the new child....something like that...to make you get more involved with your pokemon

Pretty please Game Freak? It feels kind of out of place without the opposite gender implemented into the story line. At least let us battle them at the end of the game or something.

I just can't see the harm in not having a Pokemon game on the 3DS for a few years. I think it can wait until B/W has finished what it started.

A lot of people are still hanging onto their DS systems. Many of my firends have the Old School DS (yes I call it old school now because its old!). When I told them about Black and White, some of them said Oh no, I will wait until the 3rd version comes out. How will they react if the 3rd version is 3DS exclusive? And this is a question that is worldwide. GameFreak might create an extended gap (with spinoffs filling that gap) between Black/White and [Insert 3rd version name here]/Hoenn Remakes. That way it will give people enough time to buy the 3DS.

And if they don't create an extended gap, by the time the next RPG will come out, there will probably another version of the 3DS. Im just going to throw this example out there; When Diamond and Pearl were released, there were already 2 versions of the DS out. But this is Nintendo and GameFreak. Its really anybodys game xD
 
Yeah but for those who want to play the spin off's will have to buy the 3DS...as they are making 3DS spin offs...
If they do go ahead for a one year break I imagine they will continue with the third version instead of Remakes as that would be a longer pause than Hoenn took...
 
Oh, and a quick note?

The 3DS processors can quite easily run code designed for the processor in the DS. I don't see that it would be a particular problem to port most of the current BW engine over to the 3DS and adding the bits and pieces necessary to take full advantage of the system. I'm sure Nintendo would have made a concious effort to make it easy for DS programmers to quickly adapt to the 3DS, and re-use code whenever possible.
 
OK HERE'S WHAT I THINK:

1- will there be a third version ??

yeah sure..gamefreak and nintendo wouldn't break tradition....besides it will be very profitable .....

2- what will it be called ??

gray.....or something related to gray...or both.....like gray version....or steel verion (example's sake...i know it is very unlikely)...or gray steel version... i know...also unlikely......

3- mascot pokemon...

definately kyruem....so that they do not break the third version trio traditions...seeing that it the third in the reshiram and zekrom plasma trio.....

4- what console will it be for..???

definately ds cause it is more profitable....unless nintendo wants to sell more 3ds's and put pressure on gamefreak to make it for 3ds....also highly unlikely.......

5- EXTRA QUESTION .. will there be rs remakes ??

yes of course...they also would not break tradition..and it will be very profitable cause people loved rs... and would love them in gen 5 graphics......
also i have heard people say that rs already have gen3 advanced graphics...so they don't need remakes....but if people look at the difference between gen 5 and gen 3 graphics.....yeah a lot i know........they would know that they would be very different......

what u think about my opinion....

Not too sure about the 3rd version, but for future games and espically pokemon, definitely. But if the 3rd game is 3DS exclusive, I expect dramatic improvements. It would be awesome to have reshiram and zekrom to pop out at you during the climax of the story.

offtopic: I like how nintendo was the first one to create something 3D without the need for glasses, and not sony or samsung 8D

Espicall people who tend to play pokemon at night.....like me. It would give me nightmares like Giratina did. What about Hiun City? (cannot remember english name, how ironic xD) It could be popping out at us. I think that would be epic.
 
Well for some odd reason Kyurem has been looking more and more awesome, and i can imagine him on the cover of the 3rd game. But as for the name grey i just cant get excited about it now. I say to heck with it and call it crystal but spell it like KRYSTAL lol get it K for Kyurem
