Time for a main female rival

Like really, why hasn't Ash had a main female rival up till now? You can tell me kids will enjoy more of male rivals while watching this show but seriously, since they were able to write such a great character like Hunter J I think they are capable of writing a good female rival for Ash.

Would you like Ash to have a main female rival?

Yes, I really would like for Ash to have a main female rival. Bianca was a nice attempt, but she was more of a friendly rival than anything. She wasn't even a main rival, it would seem.

I still don't know why it hasn't happened yet... I'm kind of hoping that Koharu becomes Ash's rival, or something. I know it's unlikely at this point, so I'm wasting my breath.

I'd like to have Marnie as Ash's female rival in PM. And what you pointed out is important: the female rival should not be that friendly and kind towards Ash.

I would definitely like to see Ash have a female rival. Like you said, they were able to write Hunter J really well, so I don't see why they can't write a female antagonistic rival for Ash in the newest series. It would be a nice change of pace from the usual male rival.

I'd love to see a female main rival, and I think it's time after so many years of only having male main rivals.

Definitely interested! I know characters like Paul and Gary are popular and generally liked by the fandom but some diversity would be appreciated. They have shown they're willing to diversify/try new things with SuMo and Journeys, so hopefully next saga we continue that trend and get a more prominent female rival. Would love her to be cool and headstrong, and admired by people. ❤️
