    i'm gonna rant

    i had a checkup at my ortho on saturday like i do every six or so months. i've had the braces off for a while and my teeth are still 90% as straight as they were the day they came off, so i thought it would be quick and easy and nothing to it. but it wouldn't be that simple. at the checkup they basically said that my arch-rivals, my wisdom teeth, are gonna mess things up completely (like, bad bite issues) if room isn't made for them immediately and that i'll most likely need braces again to make this happen. they also confessed to making mistakes and that they'd fix them as well.

    they called me like an hour ago to confirm that they were right and that we need to get this started as soon as possible. so i've gone from casually dropping by one saturday to getting them back on the next saturday! to say i am not pleased is putting it extremely lightly! i'm literally writing this in the waiting room right now while i wait to find out what they have planned for my lovely mouth :(

    tl;dr money is not the issue because they're the ones that are covering everything they'll ever do, so it's out of pocket for them. and invisalign would do nothing so that's off the table :(

    And this is why I have never been to a dentist in my life and will never go to a dentist in my life unless something seriously goes wrong.

    And I have a vampire tooth, so it can't get much worse than that.
     
    damn, tbh im glad i just never walked back into my ortho's office cuz they would probably tell me i need them again since i never wore my retainer lmmmaaaooooo..... sad
     
    Teeth are a bitch aren't they? I hate how some of us are cursed with troublesome chompers :(

    Really though, why do they think they need to do braces on you again? If the problem is gonna be your wisdom teeth, can't they just remove those (since it's common to remove them) and avoid the need to do braces?

    they can't get to them at the moment bc there's no room for them to get to the wisdoms, it's a matter of godawful alignment
    they're coming out as soon as possible but they can't do that until they've made room. it's a matter of doing so without extracting anything but the wisdoms, bc if they took out anything else to make things easier i'd still have to get the braces and they'd be on for much longer.
    they're also taking this opportunity to make up for mistakes their dumb asses made the first time round

    it's an annoying situation but it's not complicated, they just have to work fast
     
    that sucks :( hopefully they can pull them soon and you can just sleep off the discomfort with some pain meds

    I pray to God that you will endure the experience as well as you can. I had fun being "the braceface" at uni, but I wouldn't want to go through it again ); Also my wisdom teeth are also growing out now aaaand I haven't dared to go to the dentist to check it out yet...
     
    Wisdom teeth removal is the biggest scam in the American dental industry.
