Today in Skype Spam Calls

I just want to make everyone aware of this line of spam accounts that's been ravaging my account today.

Just ten minutes ago, I received my fifth call from five different accounts with this "message" showcased as their Skype name, and that's just today.

Apparently these exact spam accounts has been a nuisance for a few years now, but I never had a problem until now,
which leaves me to believe that other people are being pestered by them as well.

Be sure to take care that none of you fall for lines like these.
Downloading from them could lead to a nasty cocktail of viruses, malware, that of the sort.

Though, my primary reason for posting this thread was to see if anyone else was, in fact, having this issue today, or have had it in the past?​

Log into the Skype -> Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Allow calls from people in my contacts list only
and also Allow IMs from people in my contact list only.

Should lessen the spam from now on.

Yea this started happening to me like a week ago and I literally just got another one this morning. I hang up, and it calls me back again like a minute or so later. I've never answered it because I don't know what the heck it is, but I am curious...answering it would probably be a bad idea though :P

I'm just gonna...follow Dter ic's suggestion and only allow my contacts to follow me. I probably should have done that before xD

Please do follow Dter ic's suggestion indeed. You'll still probably get random people trying to add you as a contact, but at least it'll stop the random calls and messages.
