Suggestion: Toggle to turn off autoplay for gifs

    If this is something that's possible, I'd like there to be something like an option in the user settings/options that'll allow a user to disable autoplay on gifs for slower computers.

    I sometimes can't browse pc because gifs lag my computer very quickly. An option to turn off autoplay on gifs would make it was to browse and not cause an unresponsive browser.

    Try adjusting your AutoPlay settings in your browser.

    I usually use Maxthon (which only allows me to disable autoplay on videos) and Chrome which I couldn't find an option for autoplay on there at all. I looked in my settings for Chrome, and it just isn't there, maybe they removed the "media" tab in site settings some time ago.

    Which is why I'm inquiring about if there could be a way on the website itself to just disable it
     
    hi, i really apologise for the late response. two things

    a) unfortunately, there will be no new feature additions while we're on vbulletin, due to our dev team focusing on migration to xenforo
    b) even if it were possible, this seems a bit too complex for us to implement. sorry :c

    It's alright. If it's not possible, it just isn't possible.

    I suppose, if I have to, I can just uncheck the "image" box in user options that'll hide every single image (using img tags/gif tags) on this website. Which I hope will remain in user options in the Xenforo migration.

    alternatively why can't chrome just bring back "disable autoplay on gifs so my computer doesn't slow down the second one loads)
