Total Pokebro's Challenge

Maybe you just need better bros. I'm pretty sure I can learn all the HM's between all my bros in every generation. I guess that's what I get for liking Water Types so much.

Rule One says I can use NidoranF

1. Hacking only allowed to encounter certain pokemon/trading/egg trading is also allowed

And I decided to take off Stunky for Azumarril, just because I over use Stunky Line (well same for the Gible Line but Gabite is a true bro) and so I can Surf + One of my Main characters in my Nuzlocke has a Marill, and I've grown quite fond of it so why not.

No read the first post clearly it says using your favorite pokemon from that region. The trading/hacking/egg trading rule is for like say you want Bagon in emerald but that isn't available until after you get waterfall so you can hack/trade for that bro. I guess I should list the rule of "region locked" because obviously you didn't read the opening statement. A miscommunication probably more of an error on my part than yours.

Just beat Yellow!

I started from the Pokemon Mansion on Cinnabar.

Blue (pre-Victory Road):
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

After navigating Victory Road, the Elite Four was up. I was underleveled (L45's, dude!), but this game's Elite Four aren't hard.

Lorelei:
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Scythbro got off 6 DTs while Dewgong was Resting, and swept with Slash.

Bruno:
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Scythbro was switched out in favor of Kadabro when his second Onix came out (Gyarabro took the first one), then swept with Psychic.

Agatha:
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

After Gyarabro beat Gengar, Kadabro beat the rest with Psychic.

Lance:
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Scythbro got through everyone except for Dragonite with 6 DTs and Slash, since Kingbro's Thunderbolt didn't kill Gyarados. Kadabro finished off Dragonite with Psychic.

Champion Blue:
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

I threw the Bromance Clause out the window here. It took every one on my team just to get to Jolteon, and I only had Kingbro left, who had been Revived earlier. Jolteoa's Pin Missle is super effective in this generation, so I had to use a couple Hyper Potions to heal Kingbro since Earthquake wasn't a 2HKO due to the level difference.

Team Okon:

Charbro the Charizard - L46 Was useful in the last few gyms, as well as for certain match ups in the Elite Four, though he wasn't used much - didn't grow a level in the Elite Four. Still one of my favorite Pokemon.
Moves: Slash, Dig, Flamethrower, Cut
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Gyarabro the Gyarados - L46 High Attack coupled with Body Slam made him a wrecker in the middle to late stages. Solid.
Moves: Body Slam, Dragon Rage, Strength, Hydro Pump
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Kadabro the Kadabra - L47 E4 Co-MVP. Psychic rocked against Bruno and Agatha.
Moves: Reflect, Recover, Psychic, Tri Attack
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Pidgebro the Pidgeot - L45 Not a good showing in the E4 (barely used at all, didn't grow a level), but was useful in the earlier stages of the game.
Moves: Fly, Take Down, Sky Attack, Double Team
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Kingbro the Nidoking - L46 Starter Bro had the most balanced moveset, but the level difference stalled him in the Elite Four. He was able to contribute, though, and he was a great pokemon early, having been my first final evolution.
Moves: Earthquake, Surf, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt
[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Scythbro the Scyther - L47 E4 Co-MVP. Double Team was the main reason he was able to put the screws to Lorlelei and Lance, especially. Only downside to Slash was that Swords Dance was useless with it, and Double-Edge recoils.
Moves: Slash, Double-Edge, Swords Dance, Double Team

- I may do this on HeartGold. Don't know yet.

Meh, so I swap Nidoran for Stuntank then so my team will be this

Stuntank, Hounchkrow, Pachirisu, Gabite, Loppuny, Azumarril.

I will trade either Marill or Gible over, I need to figure out which.

Hey, so I'm gonna do this on HeartGold now. Changing my entry into an Ultimate.

In-Game Name: Okon
Game: Yellow, Heart Gold, Sapphire, Platinum
Actual or Emulator?: Emulators
Starter Bro: Nidoran♂, Meganium, Mudkip, Chimchar
Just one game or ultimate?: Ultimate now.
Any extra clauses?: Nope.

EDIT: @Update on HeartGold.

I am on my way to Goldenrod, having just exited Ilex Forest, and have 2 badges in hand.

- Named self Okon, rival is Silver.
- Picked Chikorita, named him MegaBro.
- Got a Mareep outside Violet City and named her AmpBro.
- Beat Sprout Tower. AmpBro learned ThunderShock.
- Caught a Gastly in Sprout Tower, named her Gengbro.
- Challenged Faulkner.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Easy peasy with ThunderShock. AmpBro evolved into Flaafy after the battle.

- Went south, caught a Wooper for Rock Smash and Flash.
- In Union Cave, caught a Zubat and named him Brobat.
- Arrived in Azalea and beat the Slowpoke Well.
- Challenged the gym.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

It took a couple Super Potions to paralyxed Scyther, and was able to push through with GengBro's Night Shade.

- Fought Silver outside the gate.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

AmpBro was able to beat all three, with contributions from GengBro (Curse on Quilava) and MegaBro. MegaBro evolved into Bayleef after the battle.

- Went through Ilex Forest. Caught an Oddish for Cut.
- Saved outside Ilex Forest.

Sorry for not updating yet. I've been really busy lately, and haven't even had time to get past receiving my starter, lol.

Update #2 on HeartGold.

- Arrived in Goldenrod, and beat the trainers around and in the city.
- Played way too much Voltorb Flip with the help of this handy website: https://mistyalger.com/v/
- Bought Thunderbolt and gave it to GengBro for a non-Ghost move.
- Challenged the gym. It took a couple tries.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

AmpBro beat Clefairy, then Paralyzed Miltank, which allowed GengBro to confuse her before falling to Stomp (Scrappy ability allows Miltank to hit Ghost-types). MegaBro was then able to beat her without taking damage due to parafusion hax.

- Went up to Ecruteak City.
- Got Surf and taught it to Wooper for now.
- Went into Burned Tower, where Silver was waiting.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

This was easy enough, though AmpBro fell to Curse.

- Released the beasts, then challenged the gym.
- Brobat evolved into Golbat on the gym trainers.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Led with AmpBro, who beat Gastly, then survived Gengar's Shadow Ball with 3 HP, just enough to paralyze him. Brobat then used parafusion + Bite to beat Gengar, then beat the rest with Bite as well.

- Went east and got Strength, then wen down to Olivine City and got the Good Rod.
- Beat the Lighthouse.
- Surfed to Cianwood. GengBro evolved into Haunter on the way there.
- Found Suicune and beat Eusine.
- Challenged the gym.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Brobat started, and was able to steal Poliwrath's Sitrus Berry with Pluck, then fell to Surf. AmpBro paralyzed him, then ThunderShock gradually wore him down.

- Got Fly and taught it to Brobat. Flew back to Ecruteak City.
- Saved in Ecruteak City.

Take me off the list (I wasn't even on it anways) I can't find my Diamond Version.

If Hacks are allowed I could do this on Spirit Gold, but only if there allowed.

I just thought of a new cool clause:

The 'Show No Fear' Clause: If you are in a trainer fight, you cannot switch Pokemon until you faint the first Pokemon (Sort of confusing, its like if you're fighting a trainer that has a Bidoof and Starly, you can't start battling with one Pokemon against Bidoof and then switch mid battle, but you can switch in between Bidoof and Starly), and if you're encounter a Wild Pokemon, you cannot run away.

I'll try this :)

Name: Sora247_2009
In-game name: Sora
Game: Platinum, actual game
Starter Bro: Erm, Turtwig or Chimchar, haven't decided yet
Just one game or ultimate?: Just one for now
Extra clauses: I'll use the same number of pokemon as each gym leader when I battle them

Probably start later :) Is it ok for me to trade in a chimchar if I go with turtwig as my starter?

I thought of a clause for you guys, maybe.

The "Fair Fight" Clause. Basically you can't use a pokemon with a level higher than the next gym leaders highest level pokemon.

Update #3 on HeartGold.

Started in Ecruteak City.

- Went east to Mahagony, avoiding all the trainers.
- Flew to Cherrygrove and got the Mystic Water.
- Brobat evolved at L29 into Crobat!
- Back in Mahagony Town, I went north to the Lake of Rage, avoiding all the trainers there as well.
- Caught the red Gyarados and named her GyaraBro. Taught her Return.
- Talked to Lance and flew back to Mahagony Town.
- Beat the Hideout. AmpBro evolved into Ampharos!

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

MegaBro went down to Murkrow's Wing Attack, then Lance's Dragonite (who was paralyzed btw) won with Thunder on the same turn.

- Lance gave me Whirlpool, which I gave to Wooper.
- Challenged the gym.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Pryce wasn't too hard. I led with GengBro, who took down Seel and Dewgong with Thunderbolt, then went down to an Ice Fang from Piloswine. MegaBro barely survived Piloswine's Blizzard, then after Pryce healed Piloswine, 2HKOed with Magical Leaf.

- Now that I could use Whirlpool, it was time to get my final team member.
- I flew to Cianwood City, then went into the Whirl Islands and stuck out my Good Rod.
- I caught a Horsea and named her Brodra.
- Taught Brodra Surf and Ice Beam (Voltorb Flip insanity!), then beat all the trainers around Mahagony Town that I avoided earlier from Mount Mortar to Lake of Rage.
- Went to Ilex Forest and taught Brodra Headbutt as well.
- Went to the Lighthouse and healed Amphy, then got a call from Balboa about the Safari Zone.
- Headed over there, beating the trainers along the way. MegaBro evolved into Meganium!
- Then I challenged Jasmine.

[PokeCommunity.com] Total Pokebro's Challenge

Steelix wasn't too difficult. MegaBro's Petal Dance was enough to wear it down, then Brodra came in and finished off Magnemite with Surf after MegaBro fell to Thunder Wave + SonicBoom hax.

- Elm called about the radio broadcasts, so I headed over to Goldenrod and changed into the Rocket uniform.
- Saved just inside the Radio Tower.

The Radio Tower and Team Rocket are waiting to be vanquished.

Update #4 on HeartGold.

Started in Goldenrod City during the Radio Tower takeover and went all the way to the Indigo Plateau, where I became Champion!

Got a screenshot montage going:

Spoiler:

So now I am gonna set sail to Kanto and fool around there. I may try to do some move shuffling as well.
I have to say that I'm not looking forward to grinding for Red...I may just grind against the Elite Four before I beat Blue so I don't have to deal with the raised levels and better Pokemon teams.
